A hula dancer—seriously? And blonde to boot! Why did someone send JT Kirkwood a hula dancer ornament? This was July, not even close to December and the season for a Christmas tree. The note promised that the dancer was real and waiting for him. No matter how ridiculous this seemed, JT looked at the ornament and felt compelled to find the woman mentioned in the note. Too bad his father’s accident prevents him from looking. A luau—seriously? With their town of Oak Grove hit by layoffs, why did Bonnie Miller’s mother insist that they throw a city-wide party at the small strip mall that housed Bonnie’s restaurant. Still, her mother had fantastic insight into what the public wanted, so Bonnie went along with it. She even danced the hula for the crowd, and saw the man of her dreams watching. Serenaded by Elvis, this couple easily falls in love. But is love at first sight enough to overcome the distance that separates the couple when JT has to return to his job in another town far from Oak Grove? He loves his home and job, but Bonnie is fiercely loyal to hers as well. Mrs. Claus is discovering that not even the magic of a compelling ornament or the lyrical sounds of Elvis will be enough to bring about this couple’s happily ever. Which one will compromise? Will each say Aloha--meaning goodbye?
A City Wide Luau, Hula Dancer, Elvis and Star Trek makes Aloha my Love a fun page turning beach read. Some mystery - who sent the ornament and do JT's and Bonnie's mothers know Mrs. Claus? As a Midwesterner I enjoyed the Wisconsin small town setting and empathized with the factory layoffs - giving the story a realistic twist for July 2020. A summer read with likable characters, flowing plots, and a believable resolution.
Bonnie and JT only met tonight, there is no way the tingles are love! Is there? Welcome to the crazy Christmas in July luau, their eyes meet and the rest of the world disappears...or is that the rest of the world tales over control of their evening! A light hearted Christmas romance that fits perfectly into this series.
I liked this book, though I'll readily admit it's not my favorite in this series or by this author. I don't think any of it was realistic, but it was a funny read. If you like Elvis, this book is for you! I really wish I could do 3 and a half stars, because it really is in between for me. The story was cute, but it just didn't hit the right chords with me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
This is a delightful read. It is a well written clean romance that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Come meet J.T. and Bonnie and their matchmaking mothers. I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Parental interference usually spells disaster in a marriage. This one had Elvis all over it.
What a way to get married! Rita was quite the manipulator., along with JT's mother. Well, it got JT to Oak Grove to meet his future wife. He was quite lonely for companionship. Thankfully, Bonnie was finally able to leave Oak Grove and get away from Rita. So they extended their family.
Mrs Claus is at it again! This time she has a little help from Elvis. Will his influence help the couple decide they have enough in common to fall in love at first, or will JT put on his blue suede shoes and walk away at warp speed?
I loved this book! A fun and quick read with lots of heart. Elvis, a beautiful Hula Dancer ornament and two Mom's who think their children would be a perfect match. Bonnie and JT are truly perfect for each other! You will truly love the heart and soul in this book...
JT - factory manager works in a different city than the h Bonnie- owns her own restaurant in the mall. I enjoyed reading this entertaining story that is well written with fun characters. Their story has a loving HEA.
Christmas in July . . . and her mother is planning it!! This will mess up somehow for her. And yet, it seems to be going good. Until a gorgeous man shows up and seems to be drawn to her. And the Elvis impersonator gets them to dance. And marries them — and THEN tells them it is real!!!
Mothers and a whole town acting as matchmakers, with Mrs. Claus and Elvis joining the fun!A whimsical light hearted novel sure to put a smile on your face.
Another good book in a great series. I'm really enjoying this series and all the characters. I loved Bonnie and JT's story. These two were meant for each other.
A wonderful Christmas story of love at first sight. And prayers answered for two people. A great story for those who love Christmas and romance. Loved it!
