I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).
So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.
Short story numbered 18.1 in the series chronology, after Wolf Rain. This is a tender little read. None of the horrendous horror Singh likes to soak her stories in. Short free story told in Toby Lauren’s pov. Toby isn’t sure how he will fit into a wolf pack, going forward into adulthood. Hawke helps him out. We also meet the newborn Heath Knight Lauren, born to Walker and Lara, and hear a little about Toby’s secret heart throb. Available here https://madmimi.com/s/c068df
excerpt: Toby stole his new cousin from his crib, cuddling his small and sleepy form to his body. Heath Knight Lauren yawned and lifted fisted hands as if readying himself for a fight, before a baby smile curved his lips and he fell asleep again.
I really enjoyed this story from Toby Lauren's perspective. He's grown into Juvenile status living with the Snow Dancer wolves, but is uncertain what an empath can bring to the wolf pack. Sweet new baby cousin Heath Lauren, Toby's secret crush and a profound moment with Hawke and Toby.
Short story from the 2nd Newsletter Collection Psy-Changeling series about young telepath Toby from the SnowDancer wolves. Loved this one - no romance!
Toby steals Heath Knight Lauren from his crib…😆 Lara catch’s him, smiling.. He is going to take Heath to visit with Riley’s pupcubs, who are coming to the den.. Toby feels as if everyone in his peer group are moving on and he doesn’t know where he fits.. most are soldiers now, he knows he can’t do that.
Hawke intercepts him.. he tells Toby that he will be shadowing Riley, learning how to organise and ensure linguistics are always available for the pack.. Hawke knew his worries.. wolf heart in a boys body.

This adorable little piece focuses on Toby, who is often more of a side character in the series even when he is in lessons with Sascha for their empathic abilities. Here, he has a new baby cousin and is learning his own place in the pack as a juvenile. Turns out, maybe it's not what he thought it was. Surprisingly, Hawke is the one who seems to help Toby see the light in this snippet. For all that Hawke still seems to make Toby nervous, he is still both family and his alpha.

"—Tienes el corazón de un lobo —gruñó Hawke mientras agarraba la nuca de Toby con la mano libre—. Un corazón hecho para proteger, hecho para la familia, hecho para la manada. Encajas... a la perfección."
Necesito libros de la siguiente generación porque hay varios que me intrigan! Diosss, ojalá Nalini lo permita pero mucho más adelanteeee. Que nunca se termine!
This was a cute little scene with Toby. Though I have to say I am so freaking happy to know the name of Walker & Lara's pup! I knew she had given birth in Wolf Rain but the baby's name was never mentioned. Now we know it is Heath Knight Lauren, a wolf Changeling & a Psy.

A sweet story about Toby as a Snow Dancer and Psy telepath not feeling like he belonged. It took some talking to Hawke-the alpha- while holding his new cousin Heath-Lara and Walker's son. There're also unrequited feelings between him and Miyoko.
This is just an adorable story from the POV of Toby and his role in the pack. As a juvenile, he's still trying to find himself, but I think he's almost there. I've always liked Toby, but now I love him so much more and can't wait to see more character development from him.
Toby spends some time with his new baby cousin, Heath and Hawke shows up to be a wonderful alpha who understands all of his pack, even the non-changelings!
Wolf Heart by Nalini Singh – Toby does such a good job taking care of everyone in his life, but it is so sweet when his pack takes care of him right back! Happy Reading!
