I think I just have to do a series review of this one.
If I had to review this series in full, it would just be a whole page scribbled with "NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO".
With also a: "PLEASE NO".

We all have one of those books, don't we?
This book series started off all right. It made me feel interested, I wanted to know what happens next.
But like, no.
As the series went on, it got weirder. In a bad way.
The author just tried to cram too many different things at once.
PLOT: NO
CHARACTERS: DEFINITELY NO (they are the type where you want to punch them)
PACING: PLEASE, OH GOD PLEASE, NO

The pacing was the worst of it all, actually. There were just too many things going on at once that weren't being explained. A lot of the parts also wasn't matching towards the theme in the beginning, so NO.

If you still want to read, go ahead.
BUT STILL, NONONO.

Word review: A roadkill.

Okay....so this was alright for a YA series,..... but is there a next book?....or any connecting series?!

I have endless questions after finishing this book...and it's supposed to be the last book in this series i think. I don't know. I am sooooo confused!

What does Warren's prophecy mean? What's wrong with Aaron in the end? Where is Maugris? Was there a change in policy for the Devoured? How was Aaron able to block Call's memories of the evil mage? Will Cal tell anyone about Maugris? ......and many many more.

This was such a fun series. Definitely a young adult fantasy series, following the adventures of the main character and his friends as they navigate the perils of their underground magic school, the magisterium where they learn to use elemental magic… earth, air, fire, water, and… Chaos magic to save their, and all magic users, lives. They have some epic quests and adventures throughout the years.

I’ve read these books when I was like 8-10 years old, so, obviously, I don’t remember a thing from these books. BUT. The only thing I remember is that I was actually enjoying reading them. Perhaps, if I reread them now I will feel differently (cuz I’ve seen all those bad comments about these books), but as a kid I liked them a lot :)

It’s hard for me to rate these separately but as a whole I absolutely loved them and am so lonely now that they’re finished.

It started so well.... I didn't even finish the last book which is impressive considering how much shorter each book successively became

teen appropriate
fantasy/action adventure with a smattering of romance. Humorous and light, despite some heavier topics. Think Harry Potter middle schoolers.

Such a lovely series, I first read it when I was quite young and I truly loved it both how the story unfolded, some of the plottwists and the characters. Because of these books I decided to check out more books of these talented authors and I just recently finished Holly Blacks book of the night.
