Marilyn Hopps is dreading the new holiday season. After three years without the love of her life, she knows the loneliness and pain that the season will bring. Struggling to make ends meet, Mari won’t even be able to lavish gifts on her daughter. Plastering a bright smile on her face, Mari is determined to make this the best Christmas she can, but her heart is not in it.
Curtis has finally returned home from a land far from the brilliant hills of Tennessee. He is happy to be back as he cares for his aged mother, who is as much a child at Christmas time as anyone he has ever seen. Embracing the cheer of the season, Curt finds it a soothing balm to the pain and memories of battle.
Will a chance encounter in a Christmas shop change everything as he guards, with love, those near and dear to his heart?
Danni Roan, born in rural western Pennsylvania, has always loved the country life. Her first work published under her real name, Paula Liddle-Beem, is a collection of folk essays about childhood in the lush, green mountains of PA. Being a teacher of English and English as a Second Language for the past twelve years has only inspired Danni’s love of writing Western Historical Fiction. After receiving her Masters of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language she determined to indulge her passion for fiction writing. Teaching both in the USA and abroad has exposed Danni to a wide range of people from all walks of life and she tries to capture that unique character in her work.
This is such a beautiful story. The magic of Christmas is everywhere. Curtis a soldier is home now and lives with his mom to help take care of things. Mari lost her husband so it is now just her and her daughter Arial. Curtiss’s mom and Arial fell in love with each other from the very beginning. With the help of Mrs. Claus they unite to get Curtis and Mari to fall in love. There is so much love in this story. One of my favorites. Danni Roan did an amazing job with this book. Everyone should read this series.
I love this series. I also love Danni Roans ability to bring characters together that bring out the best in each other. I enjoyed Curtis and Mari's story. The added love between Curtis's Mother and Mari's young daughter Ariel is amazing. Quite the instant bond between these two! The beautiful Soldier ornament works it's magic on these two families and creates a beautiful story. Fun antics make the story enjoyable right from the beginning. Don't wait. Grab a copy today!
Loved Curt, Mari, and Arial's story! Mari had to learn that Curt wasn't over-bearing and over protective; just that was used to being the protector. He had her and Arial's best interest at heart, and he was willing to work with her, not against her. I loved the way he did their dates, especially the star gazing!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Will the joy of a child, a meddling mother and a magical ornament bring Curtis and Mari together? As a person, who cherishes Christmas ornaments, I enjoy the premise of this delightful series - match making revealed with a mysterious ornament. Part romance, part mystery; but in keeping with the holiday season of hope and love. Intriguing characters, twist and turn plot, with a HEA resolution.
Curtis- soldier returned home and taking care of his mom Maria- widow with young daughter who received the soldier ornament. I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written with lovable characters. Love the little girl and Curtis's mother relationship. Their story has a magical HEA.
I just finished this series (all 30 books!) and it was fabulous! Every story was heartwarming and had a HEA. Kudos to all the authors for their collaboration on all these stories. I really enjoyed each one. Thanks again for letting your imaginations have free rein! Maybe there was a little bit of magic involved, too! Just sayin'!
A cute Christmas romance with 2 or 3 matchmakers! Sweet little story with 2 lonely people and some very interesting characters. If you love romance stories at Christmas time, you will love this!! Note also that it is part of a series of Christmas romances.
In this cozy, family book, you will see how kindness, giving and accepting people for who they are make a beautiful story. You never know who you might meet when you're shopping. So get busy reading!!!
I have loved this series from the very first book. I this one is the best. Is all about believing in the spirit of Christmas. I’m looking forward to more books in the series from all the authors
Loved this story. There is something special about a soldier who gave selfishly finding love. Mari made me angry when she did not understand him, but it all worked out in the end.
'She seems to know exactly what people need, even if they don't'
A perfect finish to the Ornamental Match Maker series...although I am hoping it is just a finish for now! Please tell me there are more to come in the future. Mari and Curtis are both struggling, Mari is drowning trying to keep a roof over their heads, working two jobs and still be everything that Arial needs, she is exhausted and lonely. Curtis may have returned home but he is struggling physically with his injury and mentally he is lost...he is a protector who no longer has a mission. Arial is a sweet, bubbly girl and Mrs Forest is a gem. When they combine their matchmaking with Mrs C and the magic of Christmas Mari and Curtis don't stand a chance. Can two lonely, slightly broken souls help each other heal and become a family?
Beautiful characters who are so charming. A fun story that pulls you into the magic of Christmas. A sweet love story that brings about two families who both are needing each other. This story will melt the hearts of the reader with how sweet little Arial is in the Christmas pageant. I loved how fun and wonderful Mrs. Forest was, the perfect grandmother figure. Such a magical Christmas story! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I love that Dani wrote a story about a veteran! Curt is recently out of the military and feels like he must now protect his new area of responsibility. From a vet's perspective, Dani had Curt's actions and thought processes downpat.
Another great book in a great series. I'm really enjoying this Christmas series. Mrs Claus as a match maker and a precocious 6 year old make far a very interesting read. I loved the characters and the story.
