The pirate kids make lists for Santa and prepare presents for the entire crew--a fresh batch of sea slug cookies for everyone! But Rotten Tooth is acting like a Scrooge, and convinces the kids that Santa won't deliver the presents because he won't be able to find the ship. Pete has a great sail the ship to the North Pole! Before they know it, the Sea Rat is stuck in a sheet of ice and snow is pounding down. How will the pirate kids get out of this Christmas mess?

The fact that I had to read a Christmas story as we are struggling into spring did not help. This would have much cuter had I been willing to single Christmas carols too....not happening in May unless you are 7 I guess.

Gary tosses a bottle overboard in hopes that his Christmas wish list will reach Santa in time. This act starts so much discussion about Santa among the pirate kids of the Sea Rat that Rotten Tooth overhears them. He gets mad and tells them that “Santa stuff is a bunch of muck,” but the pirate kids don’t pay much attention to his tirade. Soon, they are secretly changing the course map so the ship sails toward the North Pole, making presents and decorations, and baking sea slug cookies as a special treat for the crew.
