Krewe of Hunters #32.69

A Very Krewe Kind of Valentine's Day

Rate this book
Valentine’s Day approaches quickly, and Angela and Jackson are ready to spend it at home with their children when they’re called out to Deadwood, South Dakota. The widow of an old friend of Adam Harrison is under investigation—the body of a man who had disappeared is found in her car. It turns out that he has been dead some time—the same amount of time since the death of her husband.
The two had been friends, and with no other suspects on the horizon, Fiona Larkins is all that the police have.
There is a mysterious child in the mix, one who gave Fiona candy in the parking lot right before disappearing as careening cars crashed wildly into one another—and the body appeared in hers.
With video and the help of the mysterious child and her more mysterious friend, the two just might find the truth in time to celebrate the day with the love—and strangely bestow It on others as well.

I am enjoying these holiday-themed krewe stories with Angela and Jackson. I have come to really like these characters and their family who make up the majority of these.

As Valentine's Day approaches Angela and Jackson are ready to spend it at home with their children when they are called out to Deadwood, South Dakota. The widow of an old friend of Adam Harrison is being investigated. The body of a man who had disappeared is found in her car. It seems he has been dead a while, to be exact the same amount of time as her husband. The two men had been friends and with no other suspects, Fiona Larkin is all that the police have.

This is a nice lightweight investigation that they are able to handle swiftly and still get back to their kids with time to spare. The fact that ghosts are around only made things even more simple.

Entertaining mystery listening 🎶🔰

Angela and Jackson are on vacation in Deadwood when Angela witnesses an car 🚗 accident. It is very different from normal car 🚗 accidents. Angela and Jackson are involved in the investigation and help solve a murder leading to the arrest. I would recommend this novella and author to 👍 readers of mystery novels 👍🔰..2023 👒☺😡😮

A very short mystery story for Valentines Day

3.5 stars
FBI-Krewe agents, Angela Hawkins and Jackson Crow, travel to SD to help Adam Harrison’s friend. Someone placed a rotting corpse in widow Fiona Larkins’ car, which makes her a murder suspect. Jackson and Angela must find the real murderer, and of course, they have ghostly assistance.

I would’ve rated this higher, but there were hanging threads at the end—including questions about the corpse. Also, the author mentions the COVID pandemic, masks, and social distancing. My believability was tested, because I’ve kept up with COVID news and know that SD instituted no mitigation measures for public spaces.

I love Ms. Graham's books. These short stories/novellas? that she has been putting out since the Pandemic are great. Lets us continue seeing into Angela and Jackson Crow's life during this time. She is great about addressing the effects of the pandemic on the Crows and others. My only issue with these books is that they aren't long enough. I am used to a longer build up and background/history of the protaganists that can't be done with this shorter format. Other than that, these novellas are very similar to the longer books: something strange happens, the Crows are sent to investigate, they solve the mystery. I am eagerly looking forward to Ms. Graham's next full-length novel.

A different kind of Valentine

Valentine’s Day means different things to some but a corpse in your car isn’t what you might be hoping for. A widow finds herself a suspect when said corpse points to her as the murderer. Krew members Jackson & Angela are sent to investigate and they put the pieces of the puzzle together. In the end, the widow is exonerated and gets one of the nicest gifts one can receive.

Really enjoyed this book!

Great Valentine's mystery! Loved the story line and the characters. Anything with ghosts (and cats) in the story line are my favorite books. Heather Graham is my favorite ghostly mystery writer. She also combines historical settings and places that makes the ghostly mysteries so extremely captivating and so very enjoyable! I've never come across a bad book that she's written. She only writes the very BEST!!!

A holiday who done it

These novellas with Adam’s friends bringing Jackson and Angela out are a treat! This story takes them to the Dakotas where rotting corpses appear and children see ghosts. Angela and Jackson quickly work to solve the crime and get the help of one of the murder victims as well. The ending is sweet and the play on the holiday and historical facts fitting.

Lovely

For it being a short story, Heather Graham still knows how to get the Krewe going on any case, whether its any easy case or hard case. I had to laugh at how Cordy was talking about animal pelting.

Never disappointed

I am never disappointed when I read anything by Heather Graham, and this one is no exception. The ghosts love to help solve the crimes and there are usually even some laughs along the way.

Angela does it with style.

Another happy and suspicious event. Ghosts do it again. Love and tenderness are always the best overall result of crime and and punishment.

It's too short for me to get into the story. It didn't feel much like a Valentine's Day story to me.
