From Wall Street Journal Best Selling Author, Willow Winters comes a steamy, small-town romance.
His smile is what got me. It was charming but held a hint of the sexy thoughts I was hoping he had in his head like I did with only our first glance. He may be tall, dark and handsome but I’m telling you, it was his smile that got me. I’m sure of that detail. Too bad all I did was avert my gaze and let a blush rise up to my cheeks, outing me for having sordid thoughts about my son’s preschool teacher. Trent Morgan was everything I ever wanted, but there was no way I was ever going there. Even if I had fallen at first sight …
Falling at First Sight is a contemporary romance short story - sweet and sexy - with a happily ever after.
Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
I got this book for free and listened to the audiobook for free too ❤️ (it’s a little more than an hour long).
Autumn and Trent like each other, but Trent is Autumn’s son’s teacher 😬; plus, one of her close friends called “dibs” on him before… so she feels like she can’t pursue him 😅. But luckily, Trent’s gonna pursue her anyway 😉.
So he asks her out for coffee, and the tension rises 👀. So he asks her out for dinner too 😉. And well, things get 🔥.
This was a cute read. I like that we at least get one solid 🔥 scene (and the knowledge that Trent had a fast refractory period 🥵). I also like that the “owd” is addressed.
I wish we got a better ending. The HFN is implied because we don’t get an epilogue. We don’t even know when the last time either of them were intimate with anyone (or the use of protection/safety talk). I just wish it was longer 🤷🏻♀️.
Overall, I enjoyed this but wanted more.
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating/sharing/omd/owd* -the h’s friend had previously called dibs on the H so the h feels guilty. No drama though -the H is a widow/cancer -no condoms/nothing is mentioned about previous history or potential pregnancy -HEA is implied. The book just ends/no epilogue
“When I want something, I go after it. And I want you.”
This is the short story of Trent and Autumn. It's a novella that includes 8 chapters and we see Autumn being courted by Trent, who is the preschool teacher of her child. They are both single parents, but Autumn is resisting his charms because her friend Sharon had called dibs on him.
I really enjoyed this novella! It was cute, I do love the single parent trope and when there are kids involved in books they always make me smile. It was cute, sweet and hot! I wish it was a longer story with a bigger conflict, since the chemistry between them was palpable and I would have enjoyed this story as a full length book.
Insulso.
Loved this quick read from Willow. Autumn and Trent were so good together once they got over the fear of actually being together. He is the owner of a preschool that her son goes to and he didn’t want to overstep the boundaries and she thought her friend had the hots for him. Once they were able to get over that, their chemistry was explosive. Fun quick read and I can’t wait to read more about this group of ladies.
My friend recommended this short story collection titled, Stories of September. Winter's book, Falling at First Sight was the first novella. It is a sweet romance between a mother and her child's teacher. I liked the development of the story yet, it's lacking? I'm not sure. I kind of like a little drama/ conflict on my books. Overall, the series is good.
This was cute, steamy and sweet, Trent and Autumn? Woah. This may be a short story, However, this short story was absolutely perfect in every way and lacks for nothing. I devoured it. From the start, you could tell these two had chemistry. They were perfect for one another and the way the author weaved her magic and created a plot so captivating and sweet. It's no secret Willow Winters is one of my favorite authors and this book is a prime example on why. She can write just about anything and it is AMAZING. This gave me ALL THE FEELS!!
I think this was a first book for me by Willow and it will not be the last.
I love a good single parent book and this short was exactly that. It gave all the feels and all the hope and all the romance.
It was kinda sweet that the kids were best friends, but what I liked the most was the teacher, parent of a child in the class that was too perfect for this book.
Great narration, they really give the book the extra depth.
Autumn Holloway’s group of single moms love her son’s teacher, Trent Morgan. To her, he is off limits but sometimes we cannot control what the heart wants over our heads. An adorable and sweet single mom/single dad romance novella. This has a connection to the upcoming Tequila Rose but can be read as a stand-alone. Told in dual POV
This was my first book from Willow Winters. And it wasn't a great introduction, perhaps I should have picked up one of her full-fledged books instead.
Now, I'm no stranger to novellas. I've read my fair share of novellas and when done well, it can be a great short read. This, however, was very poorly executed. Everything, from the plot to the characters to the spice to the romance, felt disconnected, disjointed and contrived. It felt like an incredibly jerky ride on a highway traffic jam.
I may pick up another book from this author in the near future and I truly hope this book is not an accurate reflection of her writing and the next one will be better. Cheers.
Falling At First Sight by Willow Winters I love seeing the sweeter, romantic side of Willow Winters and this story fits that category perfectly.
Autumn and Trent's story, Falling at First Sight, is a quick, cute read that will sweep you off your feet. These single parents are not looking for a quick fling, they are all in or nothing. Is it wrong to fall for your child's teacher? Maybe, but it sure makes for hot and steamy story!
I love how their "not date" turned into so much more in the bat of an eye. Why waste time when you already know you were Falling at First Sight?
Gahhhhh I love how this woman writes. Trent and Autumn story is just one word, LUST... The love eventually comes but for a short introduction to these two lovers, nothing is more edible than witnessing two people who have an attraction for one another come together.
I love Autumn and Trent's story! This is a sweet and wonderful novella that you will instantly love. Falling at First Sight by Willow Winters is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Quick read with just enough steam to get th. motor running. Trent and Autumn have been fighting their chemistry for an entire year but finally take the plunge. Both have young boys, and I think they are going to make an adorable happy family.
Another fast story. Autumn and Trent are both single parents who were too shy to start something until now. They had really good time together with promising future. Also, it doesn’t hurt that their kids are good friends too.
Willow winters never seems to write a book i don't enjoy! This book was short and sweet but it was so adorable 😍. I mean small town romance usually is but when the love interests both have kids that are bestie it's even better!
Not typically one for single mom/ single dad trope - BUUUTTT this was some serious cute, sweet, rom com E , Hallmark E, sexy, dirty, and spicy little thang I was not EXPECTING phew Chile!
This was a quick lil story from Willow about Autumn who's been lusting after Trent Morgan ever since she saw him last year, but she's not that bold to let him know how she feels. Trent's been watching and waiting for Autumn since last year and this year he's not letting her get away from him this year besides he'll see her everyday Mon-Fri, because he's her son's former teacher and the co-owner of her son's school.
