I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).
So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.
Slave to Sensation but has been mentioned a couple of times throughout the series, finally gets her own man! Visiting Tally's adoptive family, the Larkspurs, at their farm with Clay and their kids, Zara meets one of Tally's brothers, sexy farmer Tucker, and before you know it, sparks fly, bada bing bada boom, they're on the way to be mated. Just like most of the characters in the Psy-Changeling universe.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love (probably to a dangerous degree) the theme of insta-mating in this series - nothing like some good, solid primal instincts leading your hormones. There's no up-in-the-air bullshit or even the sliver of a chance that they can separate after the mating bond and you know what? I like that type of reassurance.
Anywho, Zara was cute, Tanner was cute and I hope they pop up again in the series.
Part two of a short story included with the monthly newsletter of Ms. Nalini Singh.
We've gotten to meet Zara (cat changeling) and Tanner ( human) who have just met each other while Zara is on a trip to a family farm with her friends Clay and Tally. There is INSTANT and scorching chemistry between the two and Zara is totally telling her cat that there is NOT going to be anything happening between the two of them because she is a city girl and Tanner, well he's not. Apparently, her body is not listening to her mind and it looks like Tanner is feeling those same feelings.
These two crazy kids are about to dial things up a notch when the episode ends...bummer.
Taking place during the Alpha Night timeline, this short side story serial continues what started in part one between Tally's friend, Zara, and Tally's oldest brother while visiting the family farm.
Zara can't get her mind off Tanner and her cat side wants to play with the gorgeous human male, too. She's city; he's country. She's going back and he's staying. But, maybe they can play in the meantimes... her thoughts have taken her on an early morning walk in the fields and she ends up coming across Tanner out working. Her resistance shatters under Tanner's honest, interested gaze.
Love the build of steam and the wonder of how this pair will get past the hurdles in their way.
I'm going to write this review for the entirety of this 3 part mini series. This was a insta-love story of the introduction of Zara (architect leopard for DarkRiver) and Tally's big human brother Tanner, one country boy farmer. City girl and country boy meet and recognize the future in each other. Sure it was fast, but then again I'll accept insta-love in my shifter stories. This was just a sweet little romp tease of an introduction to these two. Hopefully we do see them pop up in future stories. I'd like to see how their future together works out.
Series: Psy-Changeling Trinity #4.5b Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
Sparks are flying between these two. I can’t wait to see how their relationship will progress, especially since Zara is so determined to be a city girl.
The race is cute, but Zara's little private pep talks don't seem to be helping her any. Does make one wonder just how fast she is though or how far back Tanner was holding Star in that race to keep her from spooking with Zara's wildcat scent. The cliff hanger on this one is huge. Good thing a Part 3 has already been promised, though who knows when it will arrive.
pt 1 zara bemoans single status while talking ot Mercy, mentions visiting Clay mates family. Insist city girl, won't fall for any country owes.. p2 Zara wakes to thoughts of Tanner, runs into him on her morning run, races him home

Changeling? Check! Awesome author? Triple check!!! Amazing story? Double check!! The only thing that would make the story between Zara and Tanner better would be if it was a novel.
Zara and Tanner. Zara's a wildcat Shifter and Tanner a human(farm boy). Zara is clearly attracted to him and vs. But she is trying to convince herself otherwise.
This is only the second of three parts, and altogether they still only add up to a short story. So this part, while enjoyable, is still too incomplete for a higher rating.
