As short stories go i wouldn't say it's bad, it's actually quite interesting, but definitely filla for the next story. This short story flushed out backstory of Mr Smithers the man who makes all of Alexs Tech thing Q but for this world! It's short, interesting, i guess i just hoped for maybe a little more about the gadgets and maybe hints to what he could he making for the next books but as spies go most things are kept secret until they are relevant so we will see what he comes up with in the 3rd book!
Okay that was odd. Alex has tea with Smithers and is challenged to find his latest invention. Plus we get to learn more about why Smithers joined M16 - he's grandfather was a Special Operations Executive creating gadgets and weapons for WWII. This was a very short interlude told in first person and like most of the rest of the collection, set after Point Blanc. It was pretty random but interesting I guess. 2 stars.
