A just-right gift for new parents, Mothers' Day, baby showers, birthdays, and more.
Banned for: LGBTQ+ themes --- The fact this book is banned is incredibly sad to me, because it's absolutely precious.
The book is told from the perspective of the baby, and it's a slice-of-life type of story as the baby tells the readers the many ways their moms show their love!
I also love how the gender of the baby is never stated in the book, so readers can put themselves in the perspective of the baby, or it could be a book two moms read to their child!
The art-style in this book reminds of watercolor artworks, and it's very warm and cozy; the usage of warm colors also highlights the element of love throughout the book.
There was genuinely no reason for this book to be banned anywhere.
The intended audience is preschool-kindergarten, and ages 3-5 years old. It's a heart warming book about a baby and her 2 moms. (LGBTQ+) The book is about a baby girl who goes through different activities with both of her moms. Throughout the story you are able to see how the illustrations make the reader feel warmth and the loving relationship from both mothers to their daughters. The book is very consistent in the fact the child is loved no matter what which is very important for a child to feel. I chose this book because I think being loved no matter who your parents are, their gender, or sexuality, love is love, and a child should always be loved. Lexile measure: N/A
A toddler describes how their two moms show their love.
This one fits into several niches: lesbian mothers, diverse parents, and baby love. Membrino's couplets are paced just right for toddler ears. They are full of love and positive messages.
Illustrated by Joy Hwang Ruiz, they are lively with bright color and pastel outlines, except when the rain pit-pats.
Recommended for reading to toddlers, when they are cuddled up in their parent's lap.
A baby gets so much love from their mommies! Mommy and Mama each show how much love and care they give this baby in just one day. Feeding them, cleaning up after them, holding them and dancing, a car ride a bath, and all the wonderful things that accompany bedtime. Yes, this baby is certain "My Moms Love Me."
Oh gosh! So nice. The illustrations were so sweet, a baby will love this - I read an ARC (thank you Scholastic for providing) and I hope they make a board book version. Adorable! Mommy and the baby are white, Mama is black.
My Moms Love Me intended for people in the LGBTQ community. My Moms Love Me Lexile level is N/A right now, but it is intended for grades preschool through kindergarten. The book is about two mommies sharing a perfect day with their baby. They visited animals on the farm, sang together in the car, and shared hugs at bedtime. This book is a really delightful book to have in my classroom because it supports the LGBTQ community, and students will be able to relate to this book if they have two parents of the same gender who support and love them.
I thought I'd read this before the Internet Archive got banned, or homosexuality was banned. Nice little book, told in poetry form in the point of view of the baby. The poem is not saccarine, and had a very good image of the family safely inside their home, watching the storm of life outside.
Certainly a happier family than I had, the traditional nuclear one ... which would be an apt description in more ways than one.
I'm not a huge fan of the artwork, but that's my personal preference. I did like that this was an interracial couple, something not mentioned in the text.

A sweet picture book following a family through their day and showcasing how they show their love. From a trip to the farm and car singalongs to bath time and watching a storm, baby loves spending time with their two mothers and feeling their love.
Lovely, soft, calming illustrations. Rhythmic, rhyming text. A soothing book with wonderful themes of family, joy, and love.
Beautiful and touching. Such a nice book to showcase unconditional love, caring families, and lesbian mothers.
This book is intended for grades Pre-k to 3rd grade. This story shows themes of love, and diverse families. I would choose this book to help my students understand that families can look different from your own, but that doesn't make them less of a family. This is important because many children are curious when they see something that is different than them and its good to teach them so they can understand.
This book explains the warm, loving household of a family with two moms and also provides representation to various family lives and the LGBTQ community. The little girl in the story explains all of the ways that she feels loved and cared for in her home between both of her moms and their different things that they usually do. This could be used in the classroom to teach students about all of the ways that families can look different, but as long as there is love, that is all that matters.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE QUEER MOM REP. I so appreciate that this is appropriate for storytime with minimal text, rhymes, and illustrations that support the text. I will probably read this in my baby storytime even though the illustrations aren't ideal for baby eyes. I wish all the rhymes encouraged action/movement like the first few!
This book is about a child who has two moms and all the fun things they do together and how they show each other they love each other. I would use this book to discuss different family dynamics and how they are each valuable and important. I may also give my students the opportunity to share things their family does together or for each other to show their love.
My mom’s love me is a beautiful story told from the perspective of the baby telling his daily routine that fell with love and warmth in every detail such as starting their day with cuddles and hugs. The moms are one white and the other black who care for the baby equally in complementary ways.
Found the illustrations beautiful, but a little over the top with the extremely pronounced rosy glow on every page. Also struggled with the premise of an infant narrating things they couldn't possibly know words for.
I really loved the colors and overall palette of this one. Loving and cozy and warm and fuzzy vibes. Writing was okay for me. Concept, great though. Here’s to knowing you’re mamas and mommys love you
This book is is for preschoolers and helps us understand that what really matters in a family is the love for each other, also how people at home have help each other. I would like to read this book to other grades as well like in kinder, first and second grade.
