Under the farmhouse, something rots. And no matter how well they’re trained, dogs will be dogs. Now they’ve uncovered something that can’t just be buried again.

Last year saw his first work for hire writing work when he scripted the comic book adaptation of the classic John Holmes film, Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here, widely regarded as the first comic book based on a porno to not be completely awful.
This year, Tony will co-write and illustrate the graphic novel Jeff Steinberg: Champion of Earth (again with Fialkov) for Oni Press.

The dark tale continues as Stray Dogs continues in Stray Dogs #3. This series somehow found the perfect balance between Lady and the Tramp and Silence of the Lambs. It’s compelling and highly disturbing all in one.
The fact that all of the main characters are adorable dogs certainly helps to increase the concern and impact of the story being told. Little Sophie is still determined to prove her theory right. She knows that their new owner is a killer and that it is more than likely that he murdered the original owners of every dog here. It’s a disturbing thought, so one can hardly blame the other dogs for resisting her idea.
Now would probably be a good time to mention that while this series does feature a lot of cute dogs, it’s probably not the greatest series for kids to read. See the above reference to Silence of the Lambs if you have any doubt on that matter.
The story is moving along nicely but this issue shows the real start of the Silence of the Lambs reference. This is an adult story. There a lot of cute Disney style dogs, but this issue shows that this is a mature series.
I won't lie, the ending is so terribly sad it has me wondering if I have the nerve to keep reading or if I'm ultimately too soft for this series.
No. No puedo decirlo.
Stray Dogs #3 is getting darker and I feel really bad for Victor (Dalmatian) that he was shot just because he called 911 to get out of this so called haven alongside his friends but Earl (Blood hound) complaint at his "master" regarding the situation so he deals with it. I feel like all of the dogs will experience PTSD and stuff.
I'm excited every time a new issue comes out. I've never read any other titles that Tony Fleecs has worked on, but I find it hilarious that he went from My Little Ponies to this. I love that this book can seem like a Disney story, then go really really dark.
Of the series I've read so far, this is the most heart-breaking of all. Master is a cruel and evil man. Dogs in trouble are put in the punishment shed. Rusty's hurt because of it. Victor, the 3 legged Dalmation has broken the rules. But he doesn't go into the shed. No. Master takes him behind the shed. I ugly cried.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I cried more while reading this issue than I did as a 10-year-old kid watching “Old Yeller” for the first time. This chapter was intense and packed with suspense. The best so far.
A terrible decision really... This series has been extremely engaging from the beginning. The art style, the narrative, and the mystery element are all darkly alluring and entertaining. It'll leave you with so many questions at the end of each issue that make you eager to read more.
But this comic in particular hurt me!!!
Now that I've read this issue, I'm gonna go cuddle my dog now.
