There are three things Eve said she would never do—move back in with her parents, let her mother set her up, and date a guy with a dog.
When a bolt of lightning forces Eve to move back in with her parents, she’s already going back on her ‘never’ list. As if things aren’t bad enough, a tree falls, trapping her in the bathtub.
When Adam, the handsome firefighter rescues her, bubbles and all, Eve is so humiliated, she hopes she never sees him again. But as fate would have it, Adam is her blind date – Thanks Mom. Surprisingly, he is perfect … except for one minor thing. He has dogs, and she is a die-hard cat lover.
She may never get over her aversion to sloppy kisses (from the dogs), but when Eve dog sits for the weekend, things go from bad to worse. Someone is bound to end in the doghouse forever.
Three Things I'd Never Do is a sweet romantic comedy with heartwarming characters and a touch of sizzle that will have you laughing your way to the happily ever after.
Remi Carrington is the figment of Pamela Humphrey's imagination. She loves romance & chocolate, enjoys disappearing into a delicious book, and considers people-watching a sport. She was born in the pages of the novel Just You and then grew into an alter ego.
She writes sweet romance set in Texas. Her new series, Bluebonnets & Billionaires, will launch in Jan 2019. Her books are part of the Phrey Press imprint.
The whole premise of the book is kinda dumb to me, he's a dog person and she's a cat person, oh no the conflict! Meh, it's too silly, i just finished cause it was short. Maybe I would've liked it when I was 13 or something... Still, it could have been better structured...
Oh my heck! You guys! I found another one of those... "Drop what ever you're reading and grab this one right now!"... kind of books. I hadn't even finished the first chapter before I was busting out laughing. 😂
Y'all! I absolutely adored this book! I could not get enough of Eve and Adam. I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and do things they wouldn't normally do spoke of how much they truly cared for each other. Add to that their banter and sizzling chemistry and this girl right here couldn't help but let out all kinds of little dreamy sighs. These two were absolutely perfect for each other.
I do have to say that the side characters made the book even better. I loved Haley and cannot wait to read her book! I will say that I wasn't a big fan of the moms. I found myself wanting to Gibbs slap them more than I have any other character in a long time. They were just too much. I loved seeing them shocked into silence during Thanksgiving dinner. That was seriously the best!
This is my first book by Ms. Carrington and it definitely won't be my last. I've already one clicked a few more of her books in this series. I think I see some binge reading in my very near future. I can't wait to fall in love with more of her characters!
And of course I cannot forget my casting. I love these two! What do you think?!
I had such a good time reading this book. From the first meeting to the romantic ending, it was the perfect, romantic escape. I loved that there was no big, major blowup or misunderstanding. It was just two people trying hard to make things work because they cared. It all just felt so good around my heart. So, so good. I can't wait to read the next book! Content: kissing, some light innuendo
This book was cute and a definite quick read as it's very fast paced. For all the hype on TikTok about a hot fireman rescuing a plus size woman from her bathtub, there wasn't any spice since this is a closed door romance.
The most annoying part of this book was Eve's mom. She almost ruined this book for me and I wanted Eve to really stick it to her instead of the little standing up she does in the book. Eve was always respectful to her mom but her mom had no knowledge of boundaries and was constantly in Eve's business about her body, her weight, etc. When her mom so casually states that she let Eve's cat outside (even though said cat is an inside cat) and then seems so surprised that Adam and Eve rush outside to find the poor kitty, I was so done with this woman. How terrible am I that I wanted everyone to tell her off and for her to have some sort of accountability? If she was my mom I would have cut her out of my life for good. There was no reason for Eve to put up with her toxicity.
Overall the book was cute and the epilogue makes me super intrigued for the next book in the series.
The first 3 chapters were pretty good, then it quickly went downhill from there. I never got that laugh out loud or even a little chuckle moment anywhere in here. The instalove is a big no for me and I wasn’t expecting that from the synopsis of the book.
Eve was a very unlikeable character for me.We get it you don’t like dogs, you’re obsessed with cats, and that is your whole entire personality. She would also get upset at Adam about the cat but if he got frustrated about the dogs she was annoyed…
Adam also irked me. I’ve found that with the instalove the ML is always, always a guy that’s just too good to be true and his faults are often things that aren’t a true fault and they are “the perfect man”. *insert gag here* the only conflict they had ended up pretty small, I feel like it should have been a bit more substantial considering the circumstances.
Started off strong but became very childish to me. The whole cat vs dog thing just seemed so immature as the story went on. I grew up fearful of dogs as well so I understood Eves fears, but after a while it just became annoying. Her friends and family were just as immature to me as well, they all tried to control Eve. Telling her what she should and shouldn’t do, making her question the relationship over a couple of dogs!!! Her mother was an insufferable bully and her dad was crazy to stay with her. Both mothers meddled waaay too much in their ADULT children’s lives, to the point of setting up dates and wanting play by plays of every time they seen each other only to throw fits when they were denied the whole story. To me, they should’ve told their parents to knock it off and stop treating them like children. Especially them hiding how they met because Eve didn’t want her parents to know?? Adam saved you from a shitty situation he didn’t fuck you on the bathroom floor infront of all the firefighters! The arguments Adam and Eve had with each other also felt forced and out of nowhere. The most mature one was Adam in my opinion, he was definitely better than Eve. Finishing this book was very hard for me, and after awhile it felt like pulling teeth. I was hoping as the story went on it would’ve gotten better but it did not so I chose to DNF it at 87%.
A big thanks to Kathy Jo for gifting me this book! It was such a charming and lighthearted love story. This was my first time reading a book by Ms. Carrington, and now I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
I jumped into this one without reading the synopsis and was quickly sucked into the story. I have to say, Eve and Adam have a unique "meet cute" that if I were in her shoes, I probably would have died of mortification! I thought they were super cute together and I loved their relationship. This is a fun read if you just want something light and fun.
This was a sweet and funny romance. I never quite knew what was coming next, and I liked seeing Eve a d Adam’s relationship develop over time. Having Eve slowly cross off things she’d never do was cute, and overall I just really enjoyed this story!
First, I'm ashamed of how long it took me to realize that the main characters are Adam and Eve. And it still made me cringe so hard.
I'd been looking for a light palate cleanser, and I that's certainly what I got. But honestly, this was the mid of the mid. It was cute, and even heart warming at times, but if you looked too closely at any point everything felt really dumb. Like, Eve's main issue is that she's a cat person and not a dog person. But Adam has dogs. And she's scared of dogs. But his dogs are really nice. But everyone in her life knows she hates dogs, and they can't stop bringing it up. I rolled my eyes many times.
The first few chapters were certainly strong, but it dipped after that. It makes me a little sad I paid money for this. I tried the sample, and thought it would hold steady but it really didn't.
Also, in case anyone is wondering, this is a very PG romance.
One of my favorite books. Loved how Adam and Eve meet both times. There are a few possible obstacles to their relationship. I loved how they worked together to work through these things. She is so sweet and Adam is just one swoon worthy guy. Loved the ending!!!! Get the epilogue if you can. My only complaint was I did not like her mother - UGH. She made me think - have I have treated or talked to my two grown daughter's like she talks to and treats Eve? Eve was very gracious and respectful of her mom.
If you like romantic comedies you'll enjoy this book. It's fun and will keep you in smiles. 'Never say never' they say. Imagine having a tree fall and trap you in a bubble bath and being rescued by a gorgeous firefighter. Never a dull day for Eve. This was a cute story and fun to find two opposites come together. A little zizzle and a whole lot of fun. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
3.5! I was on a road trip so I read this book pretty fast! It was super easy to read! Super cute and fun! Have more driving to do tomorrow so as a passenger princess I’ll be reading more tomorrow!! 😁😁
A clean wholesome romance novel perfect for when you just want to give your brain a bit of a break. Similar to a hallmark movie. It’s cheesy and not the best technically but it’s entertaining and sometimes just what you need.
(4.5 stars) - is there any hope for a cat person & dog person?
This is a fun story - more amusing than lol, but quite enjoyable. It's a relationship development (which is my favorite kind of romance) so that means while there are some conflicts, the focus of the story is more on Eve & Adam trying to figure things out between themselves. Some of the humor is situational, but most is in the dialogue - nothing cringey - and it stays believable & relatable while maintaining a steadily entertaining pace. I'll definitely be reading more of this author's work!
*Romance level: passionate kisses, character trapped in bathtub with only bubble bath for cover, some mild innuendo, nothing graphic
I was a bit disappointed in this story. The blurb read SO cute and I was so excited to read this and...yeah. Wah, wah, wah.... It fell flat. The whole conflict in the relationship was that he likes and has dogs and she likes and has a cat. And apparently, she's written in blood that she'd never date a dog person because EVERYONE brings it up to her (her mother, father, best friend) and seems to try to destroy the relationship before it starts. The vibe I got from her 'bestie' wasn't very best friend-like either. And I'm not even sure what the three things are that she'd never do (title of the book) because the cat vs. dog 'never do' took over the whole book.
Only because I've already purchased it will I try book #2, hopefully it redeems the writer.
Fate’s Hand In The Blind Date: By Korkoi - Eve life was based around work, her kitten, her best friend and her family. Her interfering mum, believed that was not fulfilling, so she set her up on a blind date. Adam was a hot firefighter, whose life was about work and his dogs. His interfering mum also decided to set him up on a blind date, as she was worried. Their first date was hilarious and memorable, but their effort to pursue a relationship, were filled with drama, chaos and heartwarming moments, that will keep you engrossed with each page turn. A definite must read.
I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
A nice easy chick lit read with laugh out loud moments. Three Things I'd Never Do is a sweet romantic comedy with heartwarming characters two fabulous dogs and a kitten. What more can you want? Never say never.

I received an ARC to review: Absolutely Loved It!! Definitely makes my top 10 books for 2020! A tangle of a kitten, 2 huge dogs, a hot, superhero fireman and a curvy woman, doused with hearty humour and infused with sweet and sizzling leg-jellying romance, this book will have you laughing one moment, swooning the next and biting your nails yet the next! An extremely satisying roller coaster ride of emotions! Remi manages to capture such depth to her characters whilst poking humour at them; there's not an iota of superficiality - a true gift indeed. This is one of those books that will stand out in your fond memory long after reading.
Language - clean Sex - clean; sizzling but sweet kissing Triggers - hazardous jobs; unreciprocated love
I toggled between 3 and 4 stars a few times on this one. This is a very simple, cutesy, low-angst story and the plot is very thin, but it was fun and I enjoyed all 200 or so pages. The writing is rushed and some nuances or touches of humor didn't read quite as witty on the page as I think the author intended but I could see where she was trying to go. This isn't quite an insta-love but he falls first and he's a super romantic firefighter that comes to her rescue. Of the 'three things' in the title, one of them was she would never date someone who had dogs. This became the main conflict, which was just silly, but I needed something light and frothy after my last book. No steam or doors to close here. Kisses only. I may pick up the next book in the series.
This has been a truly enjoyable read for me. I have loved seeing two people come together and being open to their differences and being honest about them. I liked that they each had something that could be a deal breaker but that they could be honest deep down inside and answer if they could or couldn't live with that. I loved the respect, love and acceptance Eve and Adam had for each other and that they took the times to forge a strong foundation to help them deal with the issues and interference that occurred. I am looking forward to the next in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a story! A definite 5 star read that will leave you chuckling throughout the book. Although there are some tense moments in the story, it came across to me as a very enjoyable light-hearted reading experience. The characters are stellar in every catagory. The cute couple have out of the park personalities that just lend so much to the overall picture. I have always enjoyed books by this author and this one just put another star up there in my opinion. A cute, clean read suitable for most ages.
I received an ARC copy of this book, but I have chosen to give this voluntary and honest review with my own opinions. VICKI FROM WYOMING
5⭐️ A laugh out loud, feel good, romcom that will leaf you wanting to read it again
This is one of those books that are so fun and enjoyable to read that it should be made into a movie. It’s just brilliant. I read it in one sitting, I just could not put it down. From the moment I started reading I was hooked.
The characters were realistically portrayed and I loved their cookyness. The witty banter, the play on words and the fun antics they go through are just so endearing. I would love to tell you more about them or the reason for the title but that would just give too much away
You will not want to miss reading this book, trust me, go and get it now! What are you waiting for 🥰
Romance, sweet, contemporary; series but stand alone read Eve and Adam’s story cleverly set to reflect their namesakes, was a fun read. Obvious attraction, both honest hearts, and lively chemistry with some humor mixed in made for a cute fall. Their pets and parents were a cute addition to the storyline. R.C. Had some fun moments with them to add to the characters growth and the storyline. Perfect HEA with the fireman career and first meeting, along with the pet aversions and meddling parents. Plus, of course, their Sweet fall as they navigated all the issues that came their way, and made the moments that progressed their relationship.
I fell in love not just with this book but also with Adam. We all should be lucky enough to have an Adam in our life. Remi Carrington has given us a story that is romantic, funny and really tells the complicated relationships daughters and moms, best friends and lovers. I really enjoyed this book and as someone who owns an 8 lb cat that spent a year terrorizing an 85 lb dog, I really laughed at the relationship between Pookie and Butch. I look forward to Haley’s story.
I read LOTS of romance/mystery books & have never wanted to give a book 10 Stars. But this one is SO refreshingly different & ABSOLUTELY OUT OF THE PARK SPECTULAR that I think it deserves that rating. It is so funny & different as a romance that it has refreshed my soul during this difficult/lifestyle-changing world we now live in. I can't see why anyone wouldn't want to read this book. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary, happy to review review. GREAT JOB Ms. Carrington.
After reading the first paragraph of this book I was hooked. I laughed so hard that I cried in the first chapter. If you enjoy light-hearted sweet romance with a touch of heat, appealing characters, and a happily-ever-after ending that leaves you feeling good then there is one more thing that you should never do—don’t miss this book! Highly recommend! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is the story of Adam and Eve. This one grabbed me from the start. She’s already doing the things she said she’d never do. First she’s moving back in with her parents. Next she’s on a blind date with the fireman who rescued her thanks to her mom. Third she’s dating the guy who has dogs and she is so not that person. What happens next? I enjoyed this fun, entertaining sweet romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
