Is art imitating life for actors Phillip and Leo, or is life imitating art?

Since newcomer Leo got his big break on a fan favorite TV show, he’s been flirting with his costar Phillip onscreen and offscreen. But even after twenty years in the industry, Phillip isn’t sure if Leo is interested or playing a part.

After an interview in New York City, Leo screws up his courage and asks Phillip to drive back to set in Toronto. Leo has been in awe of Phillip since they met and he really wants the chance to spend time with Phillip alone. He wants to finally tell Phillip how he feels, but he’s afraid Phillip will think it’s all a ploy, instead of real.

Will they be able to figure out if the chemistry onscreen is caused by a genuine connection offscreen, or if it’s all just fan service?

Zoe writes contemporary romances and believed everyone will get extraordinary love stories since before she ever fell in love. She lives with her family near the mountains in Colorado, where she writes while listening to music, never drinks coffee, reads books in one sitting, and watches too many movies and tv shows. She’s been writing since she was a kid, but luckily she knows how grown-ups work now. Mostly.

And the award for the cheesy-est dialogue during sex goes to... Zoe Lee! C'mon! I had such a great time with this author's books lately that this is a disappointment, to say the least. This was so nice, correct and orderly that I could barely stand it. And the sex talk... No, please!

The premise is good and I liked the characters. The ILUs came out a bit fast though; otherwise I enjoyed this short story.

***Short Story Free from a Prolific Works giveaway***

When I saw the the Prolific Works giveaway from Slade James's email, I knew I had to get his short, The Day Pass. But, because am new to MM romance, I wanted to try and discover new authors and, on a whim, downloaded this with a few others (Door Number Two & French Tryst). On my reading, I left this one last as I wasn't sure if I was going to like the short I read prior and decided I needed something solid to read out of these four shorts.

That was a good decision on my part as I liked this. A lot. A nice low-angst romance of two TV actors where the lines blur between their onscreen tension and them crushing hard on each other real life. I can't decide if this is a standalone romance or a short/novella for a series the author's writing, but I like these characters and I would love the spend more time with them both (though some of their dialogue during sex... oh, tad corny and cheesy for some).

I expected this book to be more of a lighthearted romance, but instead it was a serious romance about a serious relationship between two men whose personalities were more on the stoic, but shy side. I really loved both characters and how honest they were with each other.

I adored Leo's sister. I absolutely abhorred Dallas and thank God he was only at the end. I'm pretty sure this is the only book I've read so far by this author, but I'll definitely look for more.

The book is in both Phillip and Leo's POV.

Very enjoyable short story from Zoe Lee. This was my first read from her and I may give her another go sometime.

Lines are blurred between our two MC’s - from onscreen couple to falling in love in real life.

While Phillip and Leo are lovely characters, the pacing was off with this story. The ILYs came too quickly and much of the dialog was uninspired. I got the impression that the author could have done much better with this fun premise.
