If I come across a regularly shrink-wrapped first volume that is unwrapped, I can't help but see what it's about. Sometimes, I'm left wondering, Why was this shrink-wrapped? I've come across more mature content in books that don't come shrink-wrapped.

However, Do You Like Big Girls? did not make me think that. It should definitely be shrink-wrapped: it's literally just porn.

Basically, the male character on the cover is the brother of a member of a girl's volleyball team. Every member of this team is sexually deprived and always horny and so this male character sleeps with every member of the team (except his sister, although there is quite a lot of sexual tension there as well). So...in 180 pages, there's a LOT of sex - and this guy's penis must be magic, because they are all always satisfied and craving him again.

An energetic, insecure dork. A shy aspiring domme. An American. A tempestuous first-love. A patient, defensive specialist. An older sister. The women's volleyball team at Hokuei University is all sorts of "meh," but at least they get along well and have a love of the game. Some players have legit skill whereas others are good but could use a bit of polishing. The usual. What they need is a coach to keep them trained and focused. What they need is a manager who knows when to be kind and when to crack the whip. What they need is Sota Tachibana. Maybe.

DO YOU LIKE BIG GIRLS? #1 tugs on a few heartstrings of hopeful fetishism and aims to tell a decent story in the meanwhile. The manga doesn't exactly hit the bull's-eye, but the final result isn't too far off. To the creator's credit, the book's scope is clear from the outset: A shortstack college student (Sota) is dragged along to help his sister's (Kaoru's) volleyball team and is quickly entangled in romantic and sexual encounters galore. One can wade through all manner of ecchi manga whose creative teams twist and turn themselves into knots trying to manifest a competent and compelling narrative. In this book, readers know what they're getting from the onset.

The fateful afternoon Kaoru drags Sota into the university's gymnasium, readers learn quickly that Sota's appreciation for the female form is very, very well-defined. The volleyball team is a scant six people deep, and each player's personality is clear from the book's first few chapters. Ayano Hasegawa, tall and busty and effervescent, has known Sota's sister for years. She's actually Sota's first love. Too bad for Sota, she's also a wild horndog and doesn't shy away from repeated one-night stands. Kyoka Teshikawara, quite stoic, is tall and thin and keeps her emotions in check. Granted, after Sota gets her in bed, he realizes the woman is far more submissive to the intimate wiles of others than the dominant façade she projects (not that he, or Kyoka, complains). And on and on it goes. Sota, the lucky devil, loves him some big ladies.

The manga fulfills its duty as a comic for adults, but the title is regrettably thin on practical detail. Sota is the team's interim coach, but through multiple months of work, readers never see the team actually play a game. The closest the team gets to exhibition play is an argument with the women's basketball team over who can use the gym during a scheduling snafu (during which the team learns Julie, a hugely busty American with a six-feet, four-inch wingspan, was a multisport athlete). Readers never witness these college students going to class and never learn what happened to Sota and Kaoru's apartment (which they apparently abandoned after moving into the dorms). All of which is a bit of a waste. However much the book should rightfully emphasize its character's sexual encounters, it's as if the outside world ceased to exist the instant Sota stepped into the university gym at his sister's behest.

Sota grows intimate with each woman on the team, but DO YOU LIKE BIG GIRLS? #1 makes a moderately successful play at purposeful relational drama. Sanae Yamada is the only woman on the team who isn't a giant, and she and Sota share a genuine connection. The problem? It would appear Sota's big sister, Kaoru, has a serious itch for her little bro. It's a bit unclear how far the author will take the manga's subplot of casual incest, but the intersection of incest (between Sota and Kaoru), with a genuine romantic encounter (between Sota and Sanae), is doubtlessly clever.

DO YOU LIKE BIG GIRLS? #1 is as one would expect: An adult manga about tall, busty ladies who can't get enough of their shortstack interim coach. The art leans heavily on screentones but does a good job of balancing the demands of frisky youths in dark bedrooms in every other panel. The book's more fantastical errors, such as implying playing outdoor volleyball is somehow analogous to the skills required to succeed at indoor volleyball, are thankfully minimal.

NSFW! 18+ ONLY! Kind of reminds me of "Cheer!" From back in the day.

Sota, you are one lucky little bastich! Your super tall sister roped you into moving into the new girl's volleyball hall along with the whole team. Amazons aplenty, and while Sota may be short, he's certainly not lacking in a certain department, and one by one, he gets down with every one of the girls, even the girl he's idolized for years, and nearly almost his own sister, Kaoru, too! Now the other girls keep wanting the deets of each tryst, and are disappointed that Sota and his sister just kissed, after the rest of the girls went to all the trouble of getting those two alone in bed! This is DEFINITELY an adults-only series. So, yeah, lots of gratuitous nudity and sexual escapades!

I mean it’s smut, I don’t know what to tell ya. There isn’t much in the way of story or character and there is some strong hints of incest so just know that before diving in. Probably won’t read more other than being smut it doesn’t have anything going for it.

Well um..that uh...that sure was something!

So, i was recommended this from goodreads since i like light novels and manga. i decided to give it a read because i thought it was like....fanservice with a plot? oh no. oh no no no. this is straight up hentai. You have to know that going in. it's plastic wrapped for a reason.

I don't normally review mangas on here because they're so short and i don't like to count them as books, but i read 68 books so far this year and this would be #69. so....yeah..

The story is very simple. guy goes to live with a bunch of college volleyball players and sleeps with all of them. and he's short. and they're tall. that's the plot. if you can really call it one.

The art is really good and it reads fast. that's all i can really say.

What I WILL say is that the plot and pacing are terrible. it's like this author never took a writing class. it feels like it's full of vignettes of sex and that's about it. and not even GOOD vignettes. i've read doujins and seen H with WAY better plot than this one. the thing is, the writing is SO BAD it actually flips back around to being funny. none of the characters are likable or relatable and the fact that these girls are SUCH nymphos it's actually more than a little unbelievable.

if you just want a manga with a bunch of different sex scenes, this sure is for you. if you like a little plot in your H, um...yeah no. this author couldn't write his way out a wet paper bag.

Still though, great art and the writing is so bad it's funny.

2.5 out of 5 rounded up to a 3 just for the lolz.

Finishing the first volume has been interesting. It's an 18+ manga & you definitely get what you get with that.
It tells the very loose story about a short guy (Sota) joining his sister's (Kaoru) college volleyball team as a hall monitor & captain. There's not much about the actual sports at all so if you're looking for an accurate depiction of a ladies' sports team alongside the spiciness you'll need to look elsewhere, however if you're just here for boobs you'll be more than covered. It's decent & I did enjoy everything except the fact that later in the chapters there's weird incest tension that I wish wasn't there.
I will read the next couple volumes to see where it goes because it is fun but if the incestuous stuff continues or deepens I will not finish the series.

I was not expecting the story to go that way. From the sample I read before hand I thought the dude just found his true love in life. I wasn’t expecting him to sleep with the entire volleyball team. And they were happy just taking turns having sex with him. Even his older sister seemed as she wanted to have sex with him but it didn’t happen so I’m guessing it will eventually lol. You can tell it was written by an artist who wanted to sleep with lots of women when they were younger. I loved the artwork and story to be honest. Will dive into future issues if I ever get that “I wanna read a sexy manga” feeling lmao..

Well this is an interesting manga. It is a very funny but a little lewd still. Not quite as bad as other books out there that are just vulgar. This is another one that’s pretty tame, lots of exposed breasts so as always not appropriate for minors. But this is actually a sports type manga I am ok with. I am normally not into watching or reading about sports, I would rather play the sport. Mainly because I think sports athletes are worthless people who don’t deserve the amount of money they get paid. This is funny and different and I might collect the series but not sure.

Man this was bad, the art is the best thing (obviously) this is straight up p*** and the MC bangs the entire team, he meets his crush and the sleep together and she winds up using her, it’s so weird. Then the tones of him and his sister? WHY!? There’s no story to this, dude gets used and instead of building on how he’s feeling about getting used for sex he just continues to sleep with every other female here, do not waste your time 😑

A mature manga (borderline h) about a college volleyball team that gets a new short manager who is the brother of one of the girls. Most of them are really tall and the plot is basically fan service, sex scenes and the occasionally plot development. Not a bad purchase but also not a must have. If what you are looking for is just an ecchi manga then this is definitely for you, just not for me.

I like randomly picking up manga at Books-A-Million, and this has been the most interesting find yet. I don't recommend it. It is most definitely porn, which does not automatically make it "bad". But! There are highly problematic dynamics between the characters and low-key misogyny, and I am not down with that.

not sure what to rate this or think. It's basically a nonstop sex-fest between the short younger brother of a volleyball player and all of the members of her team. It's kinda funny except the part where there's this weird incest thing going on in the background but I guess at this point (aka reading and watching japanese media) I'm not surprised it did that.

A fantastic little series where a guy just happens to be surrounded by tall and hot girls on an volleyball team. What guy can't relate to want to be in his position?

Do you like big girls? Taniguchi Sota certainly does as he ends up as the caretaker coach and dorm monitor for a girls’ volleyball team of which his sister is a member…as is his first love. He subsequently ends up having sex with all of the members (his sister excluded though an uncomfortable incest subplot threatened to rear its head). Even the petite libero, the captain, falls for Sota’s charms.

That’s it. That’s the plot. There’s very little volleyball – there’s more basketball than volleyball since the club have to fight the basketball team for the gym on a day it was double booked. Otherwise, this basically is just a bawdy sex comedy as Sota struggles to create a meaningful romantic connexion with Sanae – the libero and captain – amid the increasingly sex-crazed other members of the volleyball team.

With a plot consisting of fan service, gratuitous nudity, and sexual escapades, the occasional plot development might just get lost in the background. How important that is depends on the reader.
