The year is 202X, and Japan has entered an age of inter-isekai exchange thanks to its light novel and manga industry! Inudou Keita is a high school student living on his own and working to become a top mangaka. When the nerdy, knightly (and cringy) high elf Surt moves next door, will she blast him sky-high for disrespecting elvenkind in his latest manga, or are other sparks going to fly?! And if not with Surt, there's always secretive landlady Lilith, or the Gyaru Goddess Ameno Uzume! Mythical worlds are about to collide (and maybe explode!) in this sizzling isekai romantic comedy!

Original title: "Otaku no Tonari wa ERUFU Desuka?"
Google translation: "Is the elf next to you?"

At the very least, it delivered on the promise proclaimed in the first chapter that this was a sexy fantasy series. It is indeed that, but in a real world setting. However, the first 8 chapter had a lot of things going on for it to be a cohesive volume. It touches on a lot of genres, but it has yet to decided on what its identity as a series would be. The author is aware of the shortcomings of this title, and even made a meta-commentary on it in chapter 8.

It may be maddeningly inconsistent as a series, but it it is consistent in providing the reader with a regular diet of busty girls.

This was my first ever manga read. How could I resist a red-headed, fire wielding, sword-loving warrior elf??? (Mel would dig it, except for the skimpy outfit. Gah!)

I did not know what level of steam to expect based on the cover. It was surprisingly PG. Maybe PG-13. There wasn't even any kissing. Just big boobs. 😆

The story was fun, as was following pictures from right to left - Japanese style!

Very cute. I would be interested in reading more manga. Suggestions???

Burning Passion

There are an assortment of manga out there that push the limits of what is acceptable before becoming mature enough to be become hentai. With a title like this one and a relatively perverted main character it would be understandable that one might consider this one may get a little spicy for its 15+ age rating. However even though there are awkward moments like when Surt, the firey elf from Muspelheim, ends up attacking a monster in only her panties or when a succubus is introduced into the story the actual nudity is pretty non existent with situations either diffused or straight up conveniently censored with whatever is around at the time.

That said for those looking for fan service this book has plenty and the characters we meet along the way are interesting in their own ways making this a romcom title about fantasy realm residents coming to our world after a manga somehow makes its way into their world and they come seeking more. It kind of reminds me of The Knight Cartoonist and Her Orc Editor with a love of manga and reverse isekai but this one is more about fitting into a far less magical world and less about the actual manga creation process though the potential love interest and next door neighbor, Inudou is trying to get a manga made as well.

Sadly something seemed off about the book which I can't quite put my finger on it like maybe the relations are developing to quickly or being a first issue world building clashed with random situations but I still enjoyed the concept, the characters, and yes even the occasional naughtiness they boldly display while preventing it from getting too mature.

Somewhat average fantasy romcom. Artwork is decent, panel layouts are okay, character designs are like other manga. In other words, there’s nothing that makes it stand out other then the main female character is from another world. Hopefully volume two will improve things.

I thought it was going to be completely weird and crazy but I was pleasantly surprised tbh 😂 I'm interested in how it carries on not gonna lie. 🫣
