Harry is always a rock star for me. Take him and add in some of his strange encounters with Bigfoot and his son and it's a blast !

This was an unremarkable adaptation of the Bigfoot trilogy, however, the framing of the story takes place after the events of the stories so that was at least nice. So there are some extra exclusive scenes that took place which was nice, even if the art was mediocre. I skimmed through when it was adapting the short story collection but read only the new scenes, I wouldn't recommend buying it but if you see it in the library give those few scenes a shot.

I was enjoying this one more than the other graphic installments up until the vampire orgy. It seemed unnecessary and took the enjoyment out of the story almost instantly. I didn’t love Storm Front (novel 1) so I decided to try the graphic novels to see if another medium worked better for me. I have concluded that Harry Dresden isn’t for me in any form.

This was a surprise for me. I hadn't realized that there was a touch of added story to the 3 bigfoot stories. Butcher tied all of them together very nicely with an extra, up-to-date, wrapping-paper story that fit in perfectly! I figured this to be a 4 star, but the added touch gained it the last star easily.

Side note: 3rd story is NSFW. I was reading it in the lunchroom and had to close it up and call it a day. LOL

The Bigfoot side stories are some of the best stuff to come out of the Dresden Files Universe. Here are the three Bigfoot stories in comic book shape. They are still great stories and the new framing story was good as well. We could use some nice smaller scale stories from Butcher, these smaller stories is what I liked about the Dresden Files. Good stuff.

I had a lot of fun with this adaptation of the Bigfoot short stories of the Dresden Files. Harry gets to meet a Bigfoot and is hired to protect his son from various supernatural ailments.Fun.

This graphic novel is the adaptation of the Big Foot short stories, so after a bunch of original stories in the graphic novels, we return to the adaptation of previously published materials. To remind you the first two books in the Dresden Files were adapted first. I enjoyed these stories as they are framed in the future and it was nice to see Harry and Irwin and Big Foot in the flesh. The art was a little miss here and there but still, this was wonderful and I enjoyed it completely.

I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

adapted from previously written short stories of the dresden files, that i've read already. this book is about harry dresden and bigfoot's son irwin. harry is helping irwin move, and is prompted to tell tales of irwin when he was younger, to irwin's girlfriend connie.

contains the following stories:
-B is for bigfoot - dresden files # 2.5 - bigfoot (Strength of a River in His Shoulders) hires harry to find out whats going on with his half human son who lives with his mother in chicago. irwin is getting bullied in school and harry helps him figure out how to handle the bullies who are more than they seem.
-i was a teenage bigfoot - dresden files # 7.3 - irwin has grown ill for the first time ever and harry is sent in to find out why. turns out its not mono, but rather magical in nature.
-bigfoot on campus - dresden files # 11.1 - irwin is all grown up and in college, and facing a threat from vampires. River has had a dream and hires harry to figure out what's going on.

"sometimes my head is like an etch-a-sketch. i shook it a little and the image went away."

"that's how bullies work. they keep hurting people until someone makes them stop."

This seems to be a graphic adaptation of one of the Dresden Files books, one linking three stories involving Harry working for a particular Bigfoot client. I had somehow missed that book, but this graphic adaptation was very good. Be warned, though, that one of the stories features some fairly graphic sex, due to the specifics of the story. Not gratuitous, exactly, but one sort of turns the page into the middle of an orgy, as it were. There's a perfectly good reason for the way that happens, and it did get mentioned in advance, sort of. Still, it was visually startling, and means you probably shouldn't read this at your desk at work.
I loved the Bigfoot character. His name, his personality, everything. His son was also interesting, but not as much so, which is too bad because all three parts of the book center on the son at different time periods.
My only concern about the art is that I felt that the artist drew Harry to be a little too young, but that didn't really hurt the story. It just felt odd.
I think this story is somewhere between book 11 and book 12 of the main Dresden series. Sort of. The problem is that much of the story is a flashback to earlier times, and I haven't figured out where those fit. Still, this is a very good graphic novel if you're a Dresden Files fan at all.

This is a graphic novel and has three short stories about Bigfoot and his Scion son, Irwin. I have not read the Bigfoot stories before. This graphic novel claims to have some extra scenes in it if you’ve read any of the Bigfoot stories before.

I enjoyed reading it. The artwork was OK. The reader gets to see Irwin as a young child coping with bullies in school and later in life in a boarding school coping with a supernatural attack. The final story involves Bigfoot again, and his son is in college.

I liked seeing the evolution of Irwin growing up. Harry Dresden is called by Irwin’s father each time to help out. Who knew Big Foot was magical?

The stories were entertaining. If you don’t mind a graphic novel, it was fun to read. I have to say Jim Butcher is I think a good writer, and very creative in this world of Harry Dresden Wizard In Chicago.

Before reading this book, my husband has been re-reading all the Harry Dresden novels. And we just watched the Harry Dresden Files TV show (2007) all 12 episodes. It was really good!!

This is an adaptation of the Dresden Files Bigfoot trilogy of short stories from various anthologies. They've been previously collected in the Dresden Files short story collections and all together in Working for Bigfoot.

There is a new framing sequence that brings Irwin and his girlfriend back into Harry's life as adults and I got the impression we will be seeing them again in future Dresden Files books. For those of you who haven't read the short stories, a bigfoot hires Harry to look in on his son at various points in his life when strange things are afoot. I really like the adaptations. I thought they brought the stories into life and the art was solid. I think this is worth checking out for fans of the series even if you've read the short stories before.

Well adapted to graphic novel form. Art leaves a bit to be desired though.

The stories are pretty much just as i remember them. The glue works okay.

I think this sort of story translates well to the graphic novel format, but Butcher's words weave a deeper spell than just dialogue and art can do.

And the art was competent but not nearly good enough to keep me in the story as well as a good novel.

In particular, this artist needs to work more on likenesses. His pretty people aren't that pretty, his ugly people aren't that ugly, and a given character (even Harry) doesn't look consistently like themselves from frame to frame.

Action shots are pretty convincing though.

I'd have to say that overall I enjoyed the story more in book form than as a graphic novel. In fairness, the story was brand new the first time I read it, whereas with the graphic novel I'm rereading something that's already familiar. The art is solid and gets the job done, but is kind of standard graphic novel fare, doesn't blow me away. There's no real reason why this book would be a must have given that it isn't new material and the art isn't gorgeous, but there's also no reason to avoid it if you like Dresden and you like graphic novels.

Just a short comment…

I came to ‘be very fond of’ The Dresden Files many years ago, & I don’t think The stories lend themselves to being turned into comix, there are numerous elements that are better left to readscapes ( ? )
Plus; there was something very distracting about The artwork that kept pushing me away from The narrative…
The stylization of The figures & backgrounds were in opposition to one another - & The figures in motion looked like storefront manikins, very stiff…

Graphic novel adaptation of a trilogy of short stories from the Dresden Files. I've read the short stories before when they were printed in Brief Cases, so the only part that was really new to me was the art. Not much to say here - they're pretty solid for what they are, even if they don't quite have the punch of the full Dresden books.

I rarely read graphic novels but couldn't resist one by my favorite contemporary author. The story is simply a combination of three short stories I had already read. I enjoyed revisiting them. I like the illustrations--very reminiscent of the Illustrated Classic comic books I read as a kid. A nice change of pace from my usual reading.

Butcher wrote a series of short pieces featuring Dresden's encounters with the Forest People, here adapted in graphic form and brought together in a single volume and connected with a framing story. The combined format makes the character growth more apparent while the illustrated format gives a new take on the material.

Graphic novel actually better than original story

Something I never imagined saying but totally true. If you have not read any of the Dresden Files, this is a great beginning. It gives you a view of his world and the humor that is threaded throughout it.

Bigfoot is a good Father

Jim Butcher develops a fascinating story of cross cultural fatherhood. Father (Sasquatch) helps his son through a number of unique and difficult growing pains with Harry Dresden playing surrogate dad. Dramatic and hilarious.

The Bigfoot Trilogy

Great to see the Bigfoot trilogy in GN form, much easier to catch up with Harry, River Shoulders, Irwin and Connie this way after finishing Battleground. On to The

A collection of Butcher's Bigfoot stories into one volume and redone as a graphic novel. This is fantastic to see the stories brought to life.
