Could anything be worse than your husband forgetting you?

Yes. Of course…

He could remember you as the young girl who made his childhood unbearable.

After years of putting love on the back burner in exchange for career success, I let my guard down. I fell head over heels for the hot policeman who pulled me over late one night for speeding.

At the time, I didn’t realize we had a past. After all, he changed a lot since graduation…

Now, newly married and expecting our first child, our lives are perfect until Pete suffers a severe brain injury while chasing a robber.

When he finally regains consciousness, the last few years of his life are missing, including all recent memories of me!

As Pete mourns the death of his first wife for the second time and tries to come to terms with living with his high school nemesis, I keep wondering….

What happens if he never remembers me?

Will our love be strong enough to bring us together twice?

If you like engaging characters, second chance romance, and laughing out loud, then you’ll adore Cop A Plea!

Waverly is now living her dream. She has married Pete who she loves with all her heart and they are now having a baby boy. Things couldn’t get better for the happy family. Pete went to work like usual except this time he fell and hit his head while chasing a person. He is in a coma and when he finally wakes up he doesn’t remember anything from the last three years. Will Waverly be able to get him to remember their relationship and marriage or will she have to have the baby without her loving husband being there? This is a great story of them reliving their love in hope of triggering his memory. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a wonderful story. Beautiful. Intense. Emotional. Funny. Will keep you hooked from the first page. I love the characters and the storyline is unbelievable. I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished. I couldn’t sleep, thinking I’d miss too much if I closed my eyes. Highly recommend reading this.

Waverly and Pete’s story continues.

This book picks up where Cop an Attitude left off. This time, Waverly and Pete are now married. Waverly is pregnant now and their marriage is stronger than ever. But everything changes in an instant when Pete suffers a traumatic brain injury. Pete can’t remember the last few years. He doesn’t remember getting together with Waverly, or even their marriage. Will Waverly and Pete be able to find their way back to how things used to be?

This is one of the best continuation stories I have read. All the fun from the previous book was there, but in this one, there were a lot of emotional scenes. Seeing Waverly and Pete find their way back left a huge smile on my face.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I love these story. I couldn't put the book down. Great characters that will pull you into their story and pulls at your heart strings and emotions! Pete and Waverly have great chemistry and some emotional baggage. This story has drama, heart, love, hope, forgiveness, and family. The story flows effortlessly with a few twists and turns that will keep you glued from start to finish.

Cop a Plea is book two in the An I Can’t Stop Loving You series by Hilary Grossman. Cop a Plea is a continuation of Pete and Waverly’s story but unfortunately their happily ever after takes a bit of a detour. Pete hits his head and goes into a coma and doesn’t wake up for a couple of weeks and when he does he doesn’t remember the last few years, which includes Waverly being his wife and that they are expecting. Will Pete ever get his missing years back? Read Cop a Plea to find out.

While it wasn’t quite as good as Cop an Attitude (book one), it was still very good and a little bit of a tear jerker. I hope there will be more to come from this very talented writer.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you follow me at all, you know that I love Hilary Grossman and specifically love her I Can’t Stop Loving You Stories. Book one was Cop an Attitude and the second and final book is to be Cop A Plea. I just love Waverly and Pete’s story.

In this book their love shines through for each other. They show us what sticking together through thick and thin means. I love these two. They had a rocky beginning when Pete pulled Waverly over late one night after a long day at work. Waverly was not amused. Pete recognised her from school. She didn’t remember him. It had been years since they saw one another and he had changed a lot. I can’t tell you a whole lot but, you get the drift.

These characters are so full and well rounded. You know what they are thinking because each one rotates chapters as the story progresses. Pete’s mother is a real pickle but, I think you will come to know and love her before the end of the book. His father is a dream. His daughter is a funny character and she had me laughing out loud. This book brought tears to my eyes. It really gave me all the feels. From the very beginning I was  pulling for Waverly and Pete.

If you like romantic comedy and a book that will make you smile then Cop A Plea is for you. Don’t read it without reading Cop An Attitude. You really need to read both books but, each of them can stand alone. They give you all the feels so, you will enjoy every minute of your time with these characters. If you really like these two books, try out her Forest River PTA series. That is a fun series and a new book will be released in the near future. Happy Reading!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Riveting read that eviscerated my heart then put it back together with an epic resolution
Cop A Plea (I Can't Stop Loving You Book 2) by Hilary Grossman is all things of a 5 star read. This romance is a bit different, but full of heart and humor, even in the most worrisome of times. Waverly and Pete are already married and living their best HEA when tragedy strikes. It's traumatic, heartbreaking, gut wrenching yet almost always positive and hopeful.
Waverly learns a great deal about herself and through her, this author examines empathy and perspective. The trials and tragedy Waverly navigates would test the mettle of anyone. She struggles, but perseveres and tries so hard to find the positive and hope in every word, interaction and inquiry with Pete. And the struggle is real for Pete too. While confused and conflicted, he still empathizes for the position Waverly is in. Despite his discomfort, he doesn't always push Waverly away and they find a way to live together. Just when you think this is their new reality, Pete comes through for Waverly in an epic way for their love story's resolution.
Overall, this riveting, pins and needles romance resolution is a 5+ star-worthy read as Pete and Waverly eventually, finally! resume their wonderful, joyful and loving HEA.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

I have enjoyed all of Hilary's books; this one was no exception. In fact, I think it was outstanding and went deeper on the emotional level than some of her other books.

When you are in a wonderful relationship, it is hard when something happens to your partner, and you don't know if they will return to you, and if they do, will they be 100%? This is what Waverly is experiencing when her husband has an accident at work which results in a brain injury. On top of worrying about Pete, she has to deal with his mother and the overprotectiveness of her favorite child. She can be rather irritating, but I think there is more to her story than we know. There is some resolution with her towards the end, which hopefully helps balance out the relationship.

This book is heavier than other books but rightfully so. I really felt the emotions of all the characters as they reacted to various situations. Since Waverly is pregnant, her feelings are all over the board, but thankfully she has a couple of friends that help ground her in reality. I hoped that all would work out for Pete and Waverly, and he would regain his memories of their time together.

If you decide to pick up this book, make sure to read Cop an Attitude first to get the backstory on Pete and Waverly's relationship.

Another great book from this author, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next for this town and band of friends and frenemies!

We give this book 5 paws up.

In Cop A Plea, the second book of the I Can't Stop Loving You series, the reader is transported back to Pebble Cove, NY, for the continuation of Waverly and Pete's story.

In this installment of the series, the reader catches up with Waverly and Pete. After a year together, they got married six months ago, and have some great news to share, their having a baby! But in early Januray, Pete gets hurt at work, he was involved in stopping an armed robbery at a jewelry store. The suspect fled on foot and Pete pursued him and tripped and hit his head on the metal train tracks and is unconscious. Pete suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, and he is in a coma. The doctors don't know when Pete will wake up, and when he does Pete may not be the same, he may have permanent brain damage. When Pete does wake up, the last few years of his life are missing, including all recent memories of his life with Waverly! What ensues is an angsty time filled with stress and worry as Pete mourns his first wife Caroline again, and his only memory of Waverly is from their childhood issues. Waverly and Pete embark on a journey of finding their way back to each other, can they find their happiness again, especially with a baby on the way?

Cop A Plea is an angsty romantic comedy that explores the changes to the relationship between Waverly and Pete Ennis, after Pete's brain injury. This story will take the readers on an emotional roller coaster ride where they will experience the full gamut of emotions as they follow the traumtic events that change Waverly and Pete's marriage. You can't help but lose yourself in the drama as Waverly worries if Pete will remember her and their past, and follow Waverly and Pete as they work to find their way back to each other. This entertaining story is full of humor, drama and angsty moments that will the reader engaged as Waverly and Pete once again get another chance at finding love.

Cop A Plea is a wonderful story of family, friendships, love, and the ability to make it through anything that life throws at you along the way.

3.5 Stars

I enjoyed the second installment of Pete and Waverly. It was fun, and funny, and I enjoyed their connection and story in this book.

Although not as much as I enjoyed the first one.

I'm fine with secondary characters and external conflict, and I thought this had a really interesting (and fulfilling) story that was centered around Pete's late wife.

The issue that I had was the strength of the development of this conflict made the other one in the story feel less developed and as a result it felt unnecessary. It didn't ruin the story for me. I still enjoyed it, but the 2 subplots together definitely left the 2nd one feeling underdeveloped.

That said, the plot was enjoyable as were the characters and their connection worked well.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Waverly and Pete are married and living the dream. She is also pregnant with a baby boy and she will also be adopting his daughter, they will be a family. Still, the only one who is having a problem with everything is Pete’s mother who tells him in the morning before she leaves their home. Pete finds out that Waverly has heard what his mother said and tells her he will have a talk with her. Later that day as Waverly had plans for Pete’s birthday she gets a call and Pete has been hurt on the job. Rushing to the hospital Pete is in a coma, she realizes that his family has not been called and Pete’s partner goes and calls them.
Here the mother is worse than she was in the other book just pushing Waverly aside like she is not the wife and does not care for Pete at all. As days go by and turn into weeks the mother gets worse and when Waverly complains to her friends one of them takes the mother’s side, oh hell no she needs to kick rocks. The mother then makes a complete 180 when Pete wakes up hugging her and supporting her, where did that come? So quickly did not make sense to me. That is really one of the parts that I had a problem with was the mother. But I did like this book a little better than the first one, a good read. with a good ending.

Cop a Plea by Hilary Grossman

Cute rom-com book about Waverly and Pete. Two elementary and high school acquaintances who aren’t best of buddies because of a flippant and unkind nickname that was given to Pete by Waverly. Poor Pete struggled with this nickname throughout these years and mom, Karen, is not likely to forget! When Pete, who is now a policeman, pulls over Waverly for going over the speed limit he instantly recognizes his “boyhood crush”.
I’m not giving anything away that is not in the first 50 pages but other than mom, Karen, standing in the way in a very vocal manner, they fall in love. Aahhh!
Pete loses his memory due to an accident and that is where I will leave this review. Humor sprinkled throughout, tears here and there from me because it strikes a cord in my personal life. Clean Read. (A copy of this book was given to me by the author. No expectations of a good review from her. The review is my own.)

Oof! I knew this was going to be an emotional book, I just didn’t realize quite how many emotions it was going to ask me to feel – usually all at once. In spite of my somewhat rocky start with them, Waverly and Pete have become two of my favorite characters. (I’ll be honest, I pretty much loved everybody in both these books.) And, it hurt my heart to see what the author puts this pair through. However, I think I can see the method to the madness, because we fall in love with them all over again. Also, by stressing them like this, their relationship is being tested and tempered under adversity to make it stronger for anything they might face in the future. Now that I’ve reached the end, I really hate having to say “goodbye” to these characters.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

Cute! Humorous! Sassy - until Pete's accident puts him in a coma!

Waverly is finally living her perfect life: Pete's daughter, Clara, now lives with them; they have a new home to make new memories; and they are expecting a baby.

But when Pete wakes up, he can't remember the last three years of his life. And he not only doesn't remember marrying Waverly, he acts like he hates her! I felt so bad for her. Now what happens to their happily after?

Other than Pete's horrible and vindictive mother, I really enjoyed this story.

This was again a beautiful story. I loved the interactions between Pete and Waverly. The story itself was intense and emotional but very well written. It’s a beautiful story of how love conquers all and finding each other again. When you start this story, you want to finish it, you really want to know what happens. I really enjoyed this one.

Grab the tissues- sad and sweet tears coming your way!
This book punched me right in the gut - from Pete's accident, to his memory loss, to Waverly's plight to help him recover while keeping her pregnant self healthy - it all killed me!
It was so emotionally draining and satisfying. I loved it!
A must read! Even if you haven't read book one Cop An Attitude (but what are waiting for? It's awesome!) where Pete & Waverly begin, there is enough in this book to get the love they created and the special moments that made them Them.
5 teary-eyed stars from me!

This was a sweet book. This picks up after book 2 in the series Cop an Attitude and Pete and Waverly are married and during Christmas, they are telling their families the happy news; Waverly is expecting.

Everything is perfect and Waverly is planning Pete's 40th birthday present/getaway and is set on keeping it a surprise from the very observant police officer. However, they never get to go because Pete has an accident at his job and ends up in a 2 week coma. Wavetly is beside herself and would give anything for Pete to wake up. One he does, he has amnesia from the past 3 years. He thinks his first wife just passed 9 months ago and he still has a 2 1/2 yr old daughter.

The book is a dual POV from Pete and Waverly. Pete is obviously very confused at how he could have moved on and ended up married to his childhood crush. And Waverly is trying to hold it together but feels like she is being rejected by Pete and that she is not enough when his memories do not come back.

I wish there was some spice instead of fading to black or remembering the past in vague memories. I did like seeing the relationship Waverly had with Clara and I also enjoyed the evolution of Waverly and her mother-in-law's relationship. I did feel the anxiety and sadness in Waverly's chapters.

Heartbreaking and hopeful

Waverly and Pete are expecting their first child together and Waverly is planning to adopt Clara, Pete’s daughter from his first marriage since his first wife, Caroline, died 4 years ago. They are so excited to be a family of four.

That is until Pete trips while chasing a burglar and hits his head, hard. Waverly faces an anxious wait at his hospital bedside to see if he will regain consciousness, and if he does, to see what damage has been done.

This is the second book, and while it was useful to have read the first, the reminiscing throughout does fill in the gaps. It was another fast-paced read and I read it in just a few hours. I couldn’t put it down as I just HAD TO KNOW!!

I felt that the subjects of the novel were dealt with sensitively and emphasised the confusion and anguish that each party was feeling. It also portrayed the resilience of children in handling such situations.

It was an emotional rollercoaster - I laughed, cried, despaired and hoped, and was truly exhausted by the end. It was cheesy in places but that didn’t detract from anything. I only wish I could have given Pete’s mother a piece of my mind!!

I really enjoyed this book, and it was perfect for a quick and easy read on a rainy day.

Beautifully written, heartfelt and has all the feel good a true "chick lit" should be and proving that love never fails.

It's Book 2 in the series, and Waverly and Pete are in a twitter with love and life and then the unexpected happens. Touching on relationships we can all relate to, testing boundaries, showing us that life can truly suck sometimes, and reminding us that at the same time, can be equally amazing! Hilary keeps you guessing at every turn with how things will turn out, making you hate it at times and not able to put it down cause you have to know what is going to happen next.

This is a continuation of Waverley and Pete's story. A real emotional rollercoaster. Waverley is now married to Pete and expecting their first child together, a half sibling to Pete's daughter, Clara. However, Pete suffers a head injury when answering a police call. This leads to a traumatic time for Waverley and Pete. I laughed and cried along with these two and there was a lovely emotional reconciliation between former antagonists at the end.

Loved this!!!

I love Pete and Waverly!! This was so good!! Poor Waverly went through so much with Pete’s accident and amnesia. This one was pretty emotional for a RomCom, but still had its laugh out loud moments.

Grossman writes great characters. They are so real and you can’t help but get wrapped up in them. They stay with you.

If you enjoy RomCom’s, Pete and Waverly’s story is great! With book two, it is a Second Chance Amnesia Romantic Comedy!! I think you’ll love this one, if you enjoyed book one!!

I absolutely adore this couple and the continuation of Pete and Waverly’s story is everything! The story is fantastic. I’m not saying much about it because I don’t want to give anything away. Trust me when I say it’s another wild ride. I could totally relate to Waverly’s relationship with Pete’s Mom. The conversations and frustrations were very real world. Clara is even more adorable. Her take on life is brilliant. Another wonderful read by one of my new favorite writers. Such a beautiful story of true love, family, and forevers.
