Emerson LeBlanc lost more than an acquisition. He lost the woman he loves.

There’s no redemption for a man with his past. No future for a relationship built on stalking and kidnapping. At least that’s what he believes. When he meets Daphne again, she’s not a piece of art. She’s a woman determined to paint a new path. For herself. For him. Except the ocean holds more than shadows. It holds danger that could ruin them both.

What a beautiful conclusion for Emerson and Daphne. Emerson is such a broken man with such complex issues and he doesn't believe he deserves anyone as beautiful and pure as Daphne Morelli. Daphne is safe and secure in her brother's house, trying to mend the hurt and worried hearts of her family, but pining for her Collector. Their story is one for the ages. It's sad and beautiful and poetic and erotic. Amelia Wilde has such a way with painting a picture with her words (no pun intended), that I could see the art and the ocean and painting. I loved it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS

The final instalment to The Collector Trilogy is nothing short of a masterpiece! Amelia’s words were brushstrokes on a canvas bringing the conclusion to Daphne and Emerson’s story to life, vividly and beautifully done. Last Resort by Amelia Wilde is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

This series is very different from what I've read from Amelia so far.
It's amazing the work she does inside a different mind, like Emerson's.

description

Emerson only feels safe inside his house, or in controlled places.
He doesn't feel right for Daphne to be limited by him, so he lets her go...
Even if that may kill him.
The thing is...
Is killing Daphne also...

description

But Emerson will surprise us, doing everything he can to save the one he loves.
I love Leo, I hated him in the first trilogy I've read in this universe, Stroke of Midnight (Cinderella, #1) by K. Webster , but when I read his book Secret Beast (Beast of Bishop's Landing, #1) by Amelia Wilde , it's impossible not to love him.
In this series, he shows how protective he is with his little sister and where he's willing to go to keep her safe.

description

Even accepting the man who kidnapped her and let him live.
Accepting that Emerson is the man Daphne wants, and he's not so different from him, after all, they did the same thing to keep the woman they love.

description

Emerson is a male character very different, though he's controlling, possessing, he's also very fragile, he needs Daphne to help him.
He's not the usual alpha man.
It's funny and well done how his character mutates throughout the trilogy.

description

Daphne is the strong one, she has the world on her feet, and she decides to let go that control for Emerson.
Emerson helps her to reach that point.
They are the perfect couple.
They both have artist souls.
So this story may not be for everyone, they live in the world of their own.

Wow, this series intrigued me and I decided I would wait for the whole series to come out before purchasing.

AM I GLAD I DID. This needed some kind of warning that the second book goes into m/m/m/f. And brothers no less. Just NO, NO, NO!!! Sooo glad I waited as I will not read the series at all.

And what is this, the new trend. I'm seeing it more prevalent than ever, menage everywhere in romance land. I'm becoming discouraged in the direction that authors are trending in their writing of romance. Menage and historical's being written more like a contemporary book disguised as historicals.

I am seeing my TBR pile shrink and interest in romance land waning.

This definitely deserves the tag of "YUCK".

this is the best book in the series. i wish i really wish amelia would rewrite the first 2 books because the writing style was horrible. the writing in this book actually was readable and i really enjoyed it.

the romance was nice too. but since this is the third book in the series, i wasn't as connected to them as i should have been. if i liked the first 2 i wouldv'e given this higher. but goddamn it, please don't write trilogy if the material you have is good enough for one book only. its a waste of time.

This is the final book in the Collector series and it was 5-star fabulous. Emerson and Daphne’s conclusion was more than I could have ever hoped for. They way the author pieced their journey together is, in and of itself, a priceless piece of art. Daphne and Emerson did not have a conventional relationship, in the end the value of their feelings and love that they held for one another is unique and an original. She is his artist and he is her canvas. They both go hand in hand and create a one of a kind, priceless possession, a kind of love that is irreplaceable. This truly is a masterpiece within the pages of this book. Amelia Wilde’s storytelling is an art form that she has mastered. I look forward to more from this author.

I hope readers give this book (Last Resort) a chance, book 2 was a little controversial for some. I, on the other hand loved every second of the scene. I saw the possessiveness in that particular scene whereas many others couldn’t see past the fact Emerson allowed his brothers to appreciate his prized possession. He only gave Daphne was she never knew she wanted. He is a renowned art collector and knows art, he saw and understood what this particular piece of art, art being Daphne, needed. And she was given the opportunity to object and yet she allowed every thing and enjoyed it immensely. There was no anger or remorse, just unadulterated passion.

Amelia Wilde concludes Daphne Morelli and Emerson LeBlanc's story in Last Resort and it has been an incredible, heartbreaking, and exhilarating journey from start to finish. Although many may find Emerson to be her most "controversial" hero, I thought he was Amelia’s most fascinating, unique, and broken. The love and obsession he had for Daphne was all-encompassing, dark, poetic, and even romantic. There is no denying that Daphne and Emerson are two sides of the same coin and that there is simply no Emerson without Daphne—they are each other's soulmates. Just like how Daphne is Emerson's most precious piece of art, he is her most beloved canvas. I also loved how the ocean was this omniscient character that symbolized and played a part in their relationship throughout the entire book. It was especially poignant considering that Daphne loved drawing the ocean and Emerson loved the ocean because it freed him from his past and anxiety.

"The ocean is how I found him… My work is the ocean. It will always be wrapped up in the ocean, just like my heart will always be wrapped up in him. Forever."

Following the events in Sweet Mercy, Daphne and Emerson are separated. Leo Morelli, Daphne's older brother, has brought her back to his home only for both of them to realize that Daphne has changed. Without Emerson in her life, Daphne feels lost and incomplete. The same can be said about Emerson who completely breaks down without her in his life. Thankfully, this separation did not lost long but the inevitable confrontation between Emerson and Leo was intense, heartbreaking, and dramatic. Nevertheless, it also provided a sense of finality as well. There were consequences to Emerson's actions and he was ready to say goodbye to Daphne. This act of selflessness, one where he was willing to let his hummingbird go and free herself from him, redeemed Emerson in my eyes despite the fact that I never faulted him for taking Daphne in the first place. It may have been difficult between them at first, but he was completely enamored with her and wanted to obtain her no matter what. However, this doesn't mean that all could be forgiven considering Emerson still has to face Daphne's family.

"My little painter. She is not art. Or—she is more than art. More than an obsession. She's everything. Breathing, living love."

In the end, I truly enjoyed Daphne and Emerson's story because it was so poetically beautiful and romantic in my eyes. While their story may be unconventional, the love, lust, and understanding that they had for each other was always prevalent throughout the trilogy. As for that controversial scene that everybody seems to fault Amelia Wilde for in Sweet Mercy, I do want to say that there was a reason behind it and the author does a spectacular job explaining it in this book. Besides trying to prove a point, Emerson was trying distance himself from Daphne only for it to backfire on him because he was already in love with her. Daphne and Emerson's romance was so much more than I thought it would be. I never expected it to turn out the way it did and I couldn't be more than happier about it. This trilogy has solidified my love for her writing because it had everything I wanted and more—angst, heartbreak, drama, and an obsessive love. Fans of Amelia Wilde's writing will absolutely love this trilogy as well as those who love reading about the broken and tortured hero who simply cannot live without his sweet and lovely heroine.

Book 2 ruined the whole series for me.
Also the fact that the arcs didn’t get out until practically 3 days before is simply messed up. It’s obvious the authors heart isn’t in this series. It j

"Missing her is worse. I miss her like an empty gallery. I miss her like my heart has been torn out. I miss her like I love her."

This series has been such a ride and this third installment was no different. Last Resort begins right where Sweet Mercy ended in that Emerson and Daphne have now been pulled apart by external circumstances. And, ERRR'BODY is now involved. Both Daphne and Emerson's siblings come to the forefront of the story, especially Leo who is literally gunning for Emerson.

“That—that I’d send him a painting, if I could paint. I’d walk to wherever he was right now, if I could leave. That I love him. That I wish I’d said it back when he said it to me."

I appreciated how the author fully resolved all the issues that needed resolving here, for both of these main characters, both as a couple and individually. And we know there are a LOT of them.

I was overjoyed to see Daphne really grow a backbone...something I struggled with, with this character in the beginning of this trilogy. She wasn't afraid to fight for what she wanted and it was refreshing to watch. And I adored how Daphne made Emerson want to fight for his mental health.

Once again, this book was hot as all get out. Let's just say that these two did every single sexual thing that I think can be done with a canvas, paint, frames, and paintbrushes. And who's got two thumbs and was here for it?! This girl!

"You’re my art now. And I can do whatever I want with you.”

I would recommend this series to any lovers of dark, gritty romance with flawed and complicated characters. Amelia Wilde has definitely established herself as a true contender in this genre.

I can't wait to read ALL the many spinoffs that are to come following this series. Not only in the Midnight Dynasty world but for Emerson's siblings as well. I was especially intrigued by Will, so I'll be over here impatiently awaiting his book Blackmail!

“I’m fine,” she murmured against my neck. “I’m fine, Emerson.”
“I love you, too, little painter.”

Emerson and Daphne’s story has been interesting from the start. There have been a lot of ups and downs and I was curious to see how everything would end for the two of them. Especially, given the events that occurred in the second book.

I loved Emerson and Daphne’s unique relationship. The connection they have formed throughout the course of the series. The understanding that the two of them have for each other, too. Emerson is possessive, probably to the extreme at times, but there is also a lot more to him. Daphne calms the storm in his mind.

This trilogy isn’t going to be for everyone, but I did enjoy these characters and their journey from the star. I loved that neither of these characters were perfect, they were broken and both struggling with different things.

If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, romantic suspense, forbidden, dark romance this is one to read.

Oh my god the first few chapters were so melodramatic I had to slide. Is it really necessary for Daphne to talk to all the siblings in an unclear manner about what happened to her? I'm basically not the best person to give a credible review as I got tired of the MC's motivations and just hate them.

This is the series I enjoyed least of the Midnight Dynasty universe, the story is dragged out and not worthy of 3 volumes. Biggest proof of that is the huge focus on the lives of their brothers. And it was exactly to find out more about other characters that I didn't give up!
And the repetition of the same sentences to fill pages? Filling pages. Filling pages. Filling pages. 🥲

The characterisation is also dodgy. The hero is supposed to be possessive but turns out to do sharing (second book) and gets carried away with the cliché "she's better off without me, I'm better off walking away forever".... 🙄🙄 how does he get the balls to fight for the heroine again? He dreams of another man spending time with her, taking her on dates and giving her flowers...Ok, that there is a fine line between being possessive and being jealous, but I guess then what drives the hero is jealousy - of someone having what is his, not being possessive - wanting to have control of every detail of Daphne's life.

The pacing at the end was better, but it was too late to captivate me.

Sorry, I'm not usually so picky but this series disappointed me..the premise was very interesting but the story fell far short of what I expected. Maybe I'm just jealous of these fools because I want to live in a house filled with paintings by the sea too.

I received an arc for a honest review.

That cliffhanger of Sweet Mercy got me wanting to know what's going to happen!! You'll have to read Dark Reign and Sweet Mercy before reading this one. I have to say this, Amelia Wilde is the queen of writing broken Heroes. Lol

It picked up right where Sweet Mercy ended, and I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know how they are going to get their HEA. Can I just say the steamy scenes, OMG. I won't be able to see painting like the same. Lol

I won't say much because I feel like I'll spoil it if I say anything. LOL Just know that I do love Emerson and Daphne. I love the Morelli's. Lol Well, except for their dad, Bryant, but somehow he was somewhat likeable here. Lol And LEO MORELLI!!!! He's the MAN!!! Lol

Now I want to learn how to paint. Lol

★4 my obsession stars

(◕‿◕)𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

A sinful tale of lust and love infused with sensual dark pleasure. Obsession and love become one in this final instalment of Daphne and Emerson’s story.

Daphne is still the timid fearful girl, it takes some time for her to become a woman. I liked what she becomes when her awakening takes place, she embraces who she is, she doesn’t shy away from her desires and goes after what she wants. Her persona develops into a confident woman, her art mirrors this change, taking new shapes, evolving into something bigger.

~"𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣"
"𝙔𝙚𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩. 𝙊𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝙔𝙤𝙪"~

Emerson is still fighting with his demons, his panic attacks still won’t allow him to live his life to the fullest. It was hard to keep up with his perspective when reading his POV. Emerson sees everything as a piece of art, I lost my bearing while his mind was painting a reality brush stroke after brush stroke, what he sees and what he portrays aren’t the same as the reality the rest of the world sees, his description of the events is original but hard to grasp for the untrained eye.

~𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚. 𝙄𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙩~

Overall this was a good story, I enjoyed Emerson and Daphne, their growth and development, their attraction to each other was there from the first moment and I had no trouble connecting to them. The hot moments depicting them were satisfying and I fully enjoyed those steamy scenes. Their coming together may have been unconventional but its theirs and it fits them perfectly.

So that thing in Sweet Mercy that got panties wadded and pearls clutched . . . it was a brilliant bit of character shorthand and really reflected the depth and complexity of Emerson's brokenness, rather than a character deviation as some continue to insist. He struggles so desperately with self worth, with trust, with isolation and communication, and continues to use the only language he has - his passion for art and and one very special creator. This inner storm sets up a beautiful, lyrical finale for Emerson and Daphne. It's not just about them finding their way to each other but finding a way forward, accepting their darkness, and allowing it to raise each other up. The way that they gave each other the strength and support to take their place within their own families without losing themselves is icing on this dark, luscious cake of a story.

Yes, it was hot AF, dark and kinky, but it was also a lovely exploration of boundaries, consent, and acceptance.

A great conclusion to the story of the Little Painter and the Collector. It really does frustrate me how much of a hypocrite Leo is in the whole thing. And then the fact that he wouldn't listen to Daphne at all was really making me mad. But moving along..... Emerson was killing me with his severe anxiety! I felt his panic in my soul! I am looking forward to getting more stories in this world. Will and Sin are particularly intriguing to me right now... along with Eva! I want her story so bad!

I'm sad it's over. I am so in love with Emerson and Daphne. Once again I'm wowed by Amelia's ability to create a story so profound. It's captivating. Suspenseful & heartwarming.

My heart was in my throat through the entire thing. Poor Emerson. I wanted to reach into the pages and hug him. I loved seeing the growth in Daphne. She's more confident and less timid and the way she is with Emerson during his struggles is beautiful. They are perfect for each other.

If you haven't read the Collector trilogy, I 100% recommend it. I struggled a little at the beginning of the first book...I wasn't sure how I was feeling about it, but I promise you, if you stick with it, you'll be so happy you did!

The little painter and her collector, after a foreboding beginning and tumultuous middle, have what seems to be their biggest battle in this finale- the formidable force that is the Morelli family and their hyper protective nature when it comes to their little Daphne. Swept away from her new found solace of Emerson’s reclusive existence, Daphne finds herself once again in the smothering, protective embrace of her beloved favorite brother, Leo. Only Leo has marshaled all the Morelli troops, and all the dark, mysterious, and brooding Morellis have convened together to check on their dear sister.

But Daphne is changed, and though she was initially whisked from one oppressive cage to another, she ultimately found liberation, found HERSELF, in the confines of Emerson’s frame. Not only has she lost her lover, the man she’s now realizing was so much more than her captor, so much more than her collector, but she’s lost the identity she was starting to create, even though she loves her family. And Emerson too is having an identity crisis, caught between the oppressive triggers and weight of his path and his desire to recapture his painter. Banished from his psychological safety, he’s forced to live outside his comfort zone, to rely on his family- and boy does he struggle. He’s not just lost in his head, he’s just lost. And now he’s recognizing he’s unworthy of his painter, even if she may be the key to his healing and happiness.

Where this story really excels is the Morelli dynamic. I am simply OBSESSED with this family, and Amelia treats us to chapters on chapters of their mesmerizing interaction. We get to be a fly on the wall as this family comes together for their sister- this very broken, messed up, gritty family. And what we see is truly moving- because overtime we see how these siblings have figured out how to rebuild their family, how they each show up in their own unique way, how they each have a very intentional role in making the big ole messy Morelli family tick. They are still broken, imperfect, and tension still looms heavy between them, but they also have their own very captivating way of loving each other. I relished every moment they were on page, marveled and how perfectly the puzzle all fit together. Empathized with them, FELT their connections.

Each has their own special moment, but no one shines more brightly than my favorite Morelli Leo. I did not think I could be more obsessed with this character, but my god, Amelia did it again. LEO IS EVERYTHING. Not only do we get tender glimmers of his relationship with Haley, but we get to revel in the amazing sibling relationship he has with Daphne. I swooned so hard for this devoted brother, the way he broke for her, his devotion, how tenderly and fervently his black and broken heart loves his baby sister. The real turning point in this story is the breakthroughs Leo and Daphne have in their relationship- and truth be told, it outshines her relationship with Emerson some. But how could it not? It’s Leo Morelli- he trumps all others.

We do get some progress with Emerson and Daphne, though Amelia really focuses more on their individual healing, much which they do longing for each other but still apart. Some may not be satisfied with Emerson’s explanation for his actions in book 2, but personally I feel like their story doesn’t require explanation. Their love is their own- and it seems that the controversial finale catalyzed their relationships in ways they both were comfortable with and valued, even if others felt it diminished his obsession. The obsession still rings true. Emerson is just far more muted in this story, a bit broken, and gain his juxtaposition to the broody Morelli man likely don’t do him any favors. But I did love the much anticipated Leo-Emerson showdown(s). Amelia shows us two very different dark and alpha men, each with their own flaws and vulnerabilities, each who love the same woman, and we see how darkness can look very differently. But is Daphne who drives this story, who drives every action and whose strength inspires real and meaningful resolution.

The finale is beautifully written, heavily meta, and not quite what I expected overall, but satisfying nonetheless, and the Morelli magic truly is incomparable. Another Morelli has her HEA, and I can’t wait for more of them.

Last Resort
(The Collector Trilogy #3)
By Amelia Wilde

Mind Blown!

This is how I felt when I finished book three of The Collector Trilogy. Emotionally drained yet overjoyed to see not just Daphne’s growth as a character, but the work Emerson had to put himself through to become the man Daphne deserved. Add to that my heart breaking for Leo and watching him move forward, hand in hand with Daphne’s growth as a woman who knew she would only ever love one man, Emerson LeBlanc.

Author Amelia Wilde gives readers words that come with color and pictures as feelings are expressed, fear is overcome and so many steps taken to erase past hurts. The work that Emerson puts into overcoming his debilitating anxiety attacks made me root for him over and over again, but the thing that brought the most tears was watching Emerson and Leo knowing how much each of them loved Daphne.

Watching Will suffer while an overwhelming anxiety attack wrecks havoc on Emerson’s physical and mental health is heartbreaking; and an honest brother to brother discussion between Sinclair and Emerson shines a very dark light on the abuse the LeBlanc boys suffered as children.

So many family secrets come to light for the Morelli’s as well as the LeBlanc’s.
This series is not just Daphne and Emerson’s love story but also a story of families coming together, forgiveness and celebration.

Last Resort took all the emotions, fears and concerns from book one and two and gave readers all the answers they might have been searching for. I am a huge Amelia Wilde fan and I try hard not to pick one series over another because they each stand on their own merits, but The Collector Trilogy has taken my top spot and I know that I will re-read this series.

The thrilling conclusion of Emerson and Daphne's story is really beautifully told in this artistic way that paints a picture that will leave a lasting imprint on your heart! I loved Emerson's character growth and development in this last book. He was not a favorite of mine in the previous books. His internal struggles were dark and I thought more than a few times 'maybe he DOESN'T deserve Daphne'. He makes huge strides in this book and I found myself cheering for him. Through many colorful metaphors he finds his path, flourishing into the man he is deep down, the one under all the scars left on his heart. Daphne sees what lies beneath and uses everything she can to help her relate to him, to get to the heart of it so others can see the beauty in his soul. She really shines in this book, standing on her own two feet even if it's against her family's wishes. They are amazing together, and chemistry has NEVER been a problem for these two, they burn even hotter in this one! I am going to remember their story for a long time, mental health issues are a highlight for me, I love to watch people get the help they need to feel whole and it really makes me feel hopeful and optimistic for the future.

This is the third and final book in The collectors trilogy. Emerson and Daphne conclusion was written perfectly. All three books were written beautifully.

"The ocean is how I found him."

Last Resort is a very unique love story. I haven't read a love story like Emerson and Daphne ever before. I feel this story is very different to any of the others in the Dynasty world. From the first book until the end of Last Resort I was invested and interested to see where there love of art and painting would take them.
It takes Emerson to a place where he finds peace within himself and Daphne finds the place she belongs.

Emerson made this book for me. To see a man so vulnerable, in need of help. A strong man who struggles, was really a breath of fresh air.

I couldn't recommend this trilogy enough.

My Review:

Last Resort is the finale in the Collector Trilogy and this is where we really see the strength and beauty within this couple. I will say that this is the book that is the most suspenseful so keep that in mind. I loved the plot building within this book and how it kept me on the edge continually. I definitely was on board with how well this book just delivered in the romance and seeing their depth being portrayed just right. I fell so hard for Emerson and Daphne in this book. I love how Daphne works with her family to get a HEA for herself. We see how well she works within the family dynamics to fight for who she wants. Seeing them get their HEA was just a beautiful journey and they both deserved it for each other. And how it all gets resolved in the end felt just right for Emerson and Daphne. And those epilogues were true perfection! I can't wait to see more of this world and having a blast exploring it.

Overall Last Resort was a thrilling finale that kept me on the edge of my seat and delivered all the swoons!

This is the last book for Daphne and Emerson. After the way things ended in the second book, I was excited to read this book but it was an okay read for me.

I wanted more explanations by Emerson and was let down by that. The storyline of this series is good and I am so glad that the characters separated for a while because they needed that. The continued obsession was toxic and being away from one and another made them realize the importance of their love.

The ending was good and I am glad that we have a happy ending for these two because Emerson was crazy hahaha, I had a doubt that he would get through it! I am just so addicted to this midnight dynasty world and I am glad that we have more books coming soon since I need them all and so much more.

Last Resort is the final book in Daphne Morellli and Emerson LeBlanc's trilogy (they must be read in order, and I would recommend reading Leo Morelli's (Daphne's brother) trilogy first as well. It is not strictly necessary but it did enhance my reading experience to have done so.

After the book two ending I was eager to see how things ended up being resolved and I wasn't disappointed with anything that happened. I also enjoyed the additional glimpses of the various Morelli family members peppered throughout, especially Bryant. I really love the relationship between Daphne and her brother Leo and there were some really poignant moments for them in this one. I easily can see there being books for Emerson's brothers, and in fact that is mentioned in a note at the end as well (at least for one of them).

The main couple is heavily involved in and influenced by art, and the writing reflects that, with Emerson's POV in particular having lots of art-related allegories, etc. and it results in a writing style tailored to the characters that I could easily see myself not liking (I am NOT a visual art or metaphor lover or abstract thinker) but it actually worked well for me. I was intrigued by Emerson's character and the coping mechanisms he has made using art all the way through the trilogy. His obsession and love for Daphne and hers for him was rather beautiful.

I'm a big fan of the sprawling Midnight Dynasty world as a whole and am definitely looking forward to everything the authors want to bring us from it.

The final book in the Collector trilogy and this love story covers a lot of ground, but comes with a HEA.

Daphne and Emerson LeBlanc have been a fascinating love story. The way Amelia writes is always a full course meal for the reading palate, but on top of that the way she tackled mental health and abuse in this story was done with beauty and love.

Both Daphne and Emerson suffered in the households they grew up in, where they should have been able to trust their fathers, it wasn't the case. It is probably a big reason why their souls recognized the same darkness in each other. Their love grew from their brokenness and their ability to comfort one another.

There are large chunks of this book where they spend time without each other, but they are with their respective families. It's not necessarily a bad thing as they each need time to gain that family support and it also gives us more insight into other characters for future storylines.

Daphne is Leo's baby sister and the one he spent a lot of time protecting throughout her life, he isn't just going to let her go easily, especially to a man he believes kidnapped her. I honestly loved having Leo as the overly protective family member in her life. Leo Morelli has been pegged as the antivillain, but he's one of my favorite characters, especially when he goes all alpha over his family members.

On Emerson's side of the family I like both of his brothers, but Sin just a bit more. I can't wait to find out what his story will be, but until then....back to the Morelli world.

The heart stopping conclusion to Emerson & Daphne. An obsessive art collector with severe agoraphobia and panic attacks has fallen in love with a naive young painter. After she is ‘rescued’ from Emerson’s house, just living becomes difficult for both Daphne and Emerson. After she’s told him to flee, he escapes into the ocean, his solitude. Unable to return to his house, he goes into the city to his brother Will’s, but his panic attacks won’t relinquish control over him. Daphne is taken by force to her brother Leo’s house, where she’s met by her entire intimidating family. She too is just as impacted by their separation, she finds herself unable to paint or even sketch. Things have to change. Emerson escapes back to his house and it is uncertain what will happen to him. Will Daphne ever return? Will they find themselves or their own strength in their experiences? Will they see they are the cure for each other’s issues? This story is filled with many twists and turns. Both Emerson and Daphne are complex individuals seeking out love and acceptance despite their idiosyncrasies. Even though the obsession Emerson had for Daphne concerned me at the beginning, their are brushstrokes of beauty within it revealing so much more than Daphne being a possession, but rather a beautiful soul to be treasured

Beautiful conclusion to this trilogy. I loved how they evolved from obsession to love. The last book was more intense because he still thought of her as part of his collection, a piece to be admired and coveted. That basement gallery scene with his brothers still gets me all hot and bothered!

Emerson really is the main focus is this book, and Daphne becomes HIS savior. Truly, they save eachother. He becomes more than just the sinfully, erotic 'Collector'. He's vulnerable in a way that you can't help but want to reach into the book and hug him.

Daphne really comes into her own in this book. Loved the scene between her and Bryant, it was unexpected!

Leo remains my not so secret crush because this man has so much depth to him, I love when he comes in to 'save' Daphnes evsn though she didn't need saving from Emerson.

Amelia writes a beautiful story and painted layers to these characters that showed how much they truly love eachother and can't live without the other.
Thanks for that epilogue and teasers of books to come.
Now I'm impatiently waiting for more of these families I'm obsessed with!!

Review:

I’m so glad Daphne and Emerson got their HEA in this last installment of The Collector series, but I already miss them. I love this couple so much I wish there were more books about them. It’s was so interesting and heartbreaking to see Emerson’s struggle with his agoraphobia and his relationship with his brothers getting stronger. It was also incredible to see Daphne to find a way to accept and verbalize what she wanted to her family. Both characters had to face hard things and they kept going, they had to be there for one another and that’s what touched me the most about this book.
Summing up, I loved this trilogy and now I want to read all about their siblings stories.

Thank you Amelia and Give Me Books PR for the ARC.

This book starts where Sweet Mercy left off which I couldn't wait to dive in to see how Emerson and Daphne would get their HEA. I can honestly say that after the previous book I was skeptical on Emerson and Daphne's relationship especially after the interaction with his brothers. How they could possibly find their happily ever after because with that ending Leo Morelli was not going to let that happen!

Daphne came into herself, she grew a backbone and started to stand up for herself and the man she wanted in her life, the man that showed her what she truly needed, the one who knew her better than she knew herself, Emerson showed us how his mental health disrupted his life and yet he was bound to change that because there was someone more important that he wanted, needed and that was a woman that changed his world upside down.

I loved the family bond between Daphne and her siblings, as well as Emerson and his brothers and I'm looking forward to their stories!
