On the run from a sadistic killer, Marion Baldwin must exploit an unexpected power to bond with multiple witches to keep the women he loves alive.
Lust Witches #2 is a tale of unconventional relationships and a villain’s unchecked lust for power.
Only a week has elapsed since Mars and Annie rescued the Le Torneau sisters from the powerful yet sadistic familiar Niles Dunn. The problem is, Niles isn’t okay with defeat and uses his knowledge to bring financial ruin to the once-powerful sisters. Of course, that’s not enough for our villain because his next stop is to hunt the beautiful Le Torneau family.
Barely a rookie familiar, Marion Baldwin, Mars to his friends, isn’t about to allow the evil Niles Dunn to finish the job he’s started. Their only hope is to go on the run long enough for Mars to gather enough power or knowledge to thwart his new nemesis.
Mars quickly realizes that his only real power as a familiar is when he bonds with a witch and trains her with the magic contained within his mystical familiar’s guide. For most familiars, lifetime bonding with a single witch is the extent of their power. Mars, however, has an advantage even Niles is unaware of. Mars can bond with as many witches as will have him.
The question is, can Mars bond and train his witches fast enough to overcome the storm that is bearing down on them?
Lust witches is a story with unconventional relationships and un-varnished descriptions of intimate moments. There are adult themes and moral ambiguities.
The writing is decent. The editing is solid enough. Most of the characters are compelling and well rounded enough to keep my interest.
The problem is the bad guy. He really isn't written as well as the others and it feels like he's covered in 2 tons of plot armor to make up for that fact.
I really don't know if I can finish this story or not. It's like nails on a chalkboard to see him get everything inexplicably.
################# ~~Spoilers~~
We're told that the main character wasn't in the right (to the council) because he attacked the bad guy's home. The badguy attacked and raped the main character in his home.
We're told the council is just concerned about keeping a war from starting. That's exactly what the bad guy is doing. We also know the bad guy violated rules by publicly attacking with magic.
The bad guy says with the resources of the sisters he stole that he now has POWERFUL friends. Then why were the sisters so unprotected?
At every turn the main characters are hedged in and the antagonist is protected and supported. Even when it doesn't make sense. Like why didn't the main character ward the sisters home? They had THREE days and KNEW the antagonist would be coming. This makes no sense.
The cherry on top is that Isador, after being raped, had no inclination to withhold anything from niles. Even while her sister was literally on a rack in the next room. He had her for like 1 to 2 days. All Niles has to do is torture and rape people while swinging his thing around. The witches, the council, and the world at large just fall in line.
Fantastic !!!! This book is a true treasure Well paced, great great characters, a world I can't wait to explore and learn more of... Well placed active interactions between characters and wonderfully scripted liaison that keep coming at a pace that sits perfectly with what I look for in this genre.
Thank you Justin for really fantastic series and I hope to read many more chronicles in the Future
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The author weaves an interesting story with very good character development, keeping the reader engrossed, wondering what will develop next. I’m looking forward to a book #3(?) or, alternatively, a new series. The book flows on extremely well from the first book (which was equally captivating).
I really like the way this author writes the people are intriguing the drama is riveting and I also like the way that everyone seems to take care of each other and the intuitiveness of the main character concerning his loved ones. I also like the way the story ends but it also leaves some elements open for a continuation at some other time.
Justin Trublood's Lust Witches Book 2 is a nice balance of characters, witchcraft and sex. Not a deep plotline, but way better than the gratuitous sexual encounters of male oriented fiction. These people care about each other and work hard at making their paranormal witchey harem succeed. I'm looking forward to Book 3.
This is a review of the series not just this book. I loved the action and the building of the characters. The story is the first I've read about a familiar. There were many surprises both good and bad. I have to admit I truly enjoyed reading this series. The author has brought a fresh look to these books. I eagerly await his next work.
This is the second in the series and was lots of fun! It's an interesting take on witches and familiars. Mars, bonds with the sisters and takes on Niles and gets hauled before The Council. Excellent pace, action and adventure! Looking forward to book 3!
As always a very enjoyable read!!! An interesting magical world you've built into reality! Excellent adult fantasy activities, wonderful characters and first rate character interactions!!! I for one can't wait to seen what you come up with next!!
A solid second book, and what looks like the last in this series. That's a good thing; as much as I enjoyed these books, let's just say that it seemed wrapped up. I've been wrong about these things before, so we'll see.
I don’t know if this will be the last book in the series, there’s potential for more stories in this world that’s for sure, but this neatly tie up everything that was left suspended at the end of book one
Interesting, hard to put down, once the cover is opened
The author did not dawdle . He kept good pacing of the story, and each of the characters are interesting, and stay within their profile. It is a man's fantasy, ad well written.
Lust witches was thoroughly enjoyable. The scope for sequels is large. I particularly hope to read about the childhood of the nymph daughters growing up with Mars and his wves
Niles Dunn is still a problem, and Mars and his harem will fix it, if possible. The Council gets involved, and we learn that Raven is a very big girl. A wonderful read, and I'm excited for book three!
Good character development fun perfect fantasy book will continue to read this author's work in the future if you read any of his other work I think you will enjoy this
I'm sick of reading about people getting tortured and raped in shitty books like this.
I'm also tired of books where all women are heavily contrived to be lesbians (and MC getting cucked by them) in order to obnoxiously scratch some peoples' fetish.
