A Strangely Thankful Thanksgiving
Sienna Murray and Ryder Stapleton planned on being in New Orleans and welcoming family to his home for Thanksgiving dinner. Relaxing, easy time! The fact that Ryder’s kitchen was torn up for renovations might have put a glitch on the idea, but Adam Harrison had just purchased an historic home in the French Quarter, and they were welcome to make use of it.
But while accepting the keys to Adam’s new purchase, they hear a strange story regarding the old house. Of course, it’s the French Quarter—what self-respecting home doesn’t come with a good ghost story?
But this story has to do with the living and the dead and a legacy of fear and lies. And with just hours to spare, Sienna and Ryder will have to solve a mystery from the past—with a ‘wee’ bit of help from Granny K., friends, and a young man seeking justice and peace.

After a stint of several years in dinner theater, back-up vocals, and bartending, she stayed home after the birth of her third child and began to write, working on short horror stories and romances. A very, very short story with “Hulk smash!” moments.
Yes, it’s a short story, mostly because there is sort of a story arc, starting with a lengthy beginning, a fast middle, and a flash ending with heart-warming Thanksgiving HEAs.
I had difficulties suspending disbelief about several events. I won’t discuss the supernatural problems, but yes to the mundane. Example: The protagonists rip away built-in shelves in a refurbished kitchen pantry. Wow. Did they use their hands to do the ripping? “Hulk smash!” Plus, there’s this: WHY would a contractor or construction manager or a real estate agent leave a shovel and other tools in a newly refurbished pantry? Well, the storyline requires the male protagonist to slam a tool against the wall. Did he use the shovel? Or was there a sledgehammer left with the shovel? Whatever. He causes the wall behind the shelves to “break away.” Another “Hulk smash!” moment.

🖊 My review: “Sienna Murray and Ryder Stapleton planned on being in New Orleans and welcoming family to his home for Thanksgiving dinner,” and that is where this oddball story goes from there – to the discovery that a murder took place in the house years ago. I found this short story to be entertaining and quirky, a cross between good and evil with a turkey dinner thrown in, and with a lot of thanking going on: “She kissed his lips quickly. ‘And I am thankful for you!’ . . . ‘I just wanted you to know,’ Ryder murmured and pulled her close, ‘I am so, so, so, so very thankful for you.’ . . . ‘You’d best be thankful for me!’ Granny K. announced, grinning at them. Sienna rolled her eyes. ‘Of course, so thankful for you.’”
I giggled, I laughed. This is a humorous and quirky story for something a little different.
🔥 Dénouement: Well done to a crisp.

The following is a puzzling statement from the book – that the FBI has a krewe. I would think that a private social organization could not be intertwined with the Federal government, but wait – this is the twenty-first century, so never mind. Like Cole Porter wrote nearly a century ago, “Anything Goes” these days.

🗝 What I learned: Granny K. reminded me of Daisy May Moses.
💫 What I like best: The laughs this story gave me because it’s so atypical.
📌 Would I read this again? Not really.

Good but not complete?
Super short which is fine, expected and enjoyed with these holiday bursts from the Krewe, but when this one ended I thought there was a download problem because the story wasn’t over. They did find an answer to where a suspect was, but not the real killer. With that being said, I enjoyed what I did read and was immediately back in the Krewe world and enjoying the ghosts that help out!

The shortest story ever but darned good
Sienna and Ryder are back in New Orleans for Thanksgiving. Staying at Adam Harrison’s newly purchased house, they find out that there was a murder several years before. Mom was murdered, Dad was suspected but disappeared. The son is hoping that his Father is innocent.

Wonderful quick read
Enjoyed this short story so much. Mrs. Graham never disappoints. I'm always anxious to find out how the story ends but then comes the realization I have to wait for the next book to be released. Great job Mrs. Graham as usual. Looking forward to the next book.

A really short installment in the Krewe of Hunters series that leaves me completely confused. We’ve got a past murder, a missing father, a skeleton and the prerequisite ghosts warning of danger in Adam Harrison’s recently acquired house in New Orleans. And then the end. No resolution to the hinted at mystery. Was a real let down and that has never happened with any Krewe book before. Sad.

A really nice Thanksgiving ghostly mystery!
This was a wonderful, heartwarming story. I always enjoy Heather Graham's books. Whether short or full length. I hope there will be more full length Krewe of Hunters coming out real soon!!!

Never judge a ghost by actions
