Surprisingly... a good read. Very entertaining and perfect for a one-shot kind of story. It’s very short and to the point, jumping right into what the blurb said.
I admit, I was a little skeptical going into this book because many in the same genre often disappoint. They usually lack chemistry, no sexual tension, or just plain unrealistic to the point of cringe-iness. Even though the situation that happened in this book are a little far-fetched, it’s very well-written.
Despite that, there are some hiccups here and there. Obviously the characters are very shallow and two-dimensional, but I digress. It’s $2.99 so I guess that’s okay? You decide.
The step-brother, Kurt (couldn’t Evangeline use any other name? Kurt doesn’t sound very sexy to me), is very protective of Melanie. Honestly, borderline controlling and insanely possessive. I didn’t like him, but for the sake of this short story, I ignored the red flags that went up in my head since this wasn’t the kind of book that was to be taken seriously.
The sexual scenes are off the charts, though. Very hot, but honestly? Not worth to be paid $3 for. Search any similar plot on google and you’ll be directed to the nearest, free identical
I did roll my eyes more than a few times during Melanie’s and Kurt’s moral battle. It’s very ridiculous seeing how they kept pushing the boundaries and justified having him half inside her as “good for the pictures” and that they weren’t actually having sex. Um? Pretty sure if he’s 6 inches deep, that means you guys are fucking.
6/10 worth the read if you’re looking for something quick, hot, and doesn’t require a lot of thinking.
