Dirty, hot erotica....
There is also the forbidden element of the love/lust between a stepbrother and stepsister.
Not much of a story since it is a pretty short novel and it mainly focuses on the sex tension building between the two protagonists.
I had fun reading it, but my favourite books by the author are still the scifi Kindred tales.

Holy repetitive and ridiculous!
Firstly, ridiculous in that these two step siblings go to a photoshoot, they need to simulate sexual poses, then there needs to be a little touching, then a little kissing, then a little penetration. Pft. I am reading fiction, I get that, but the build up was corny. Period.
Then there is all this talk about shame and guilt after every pose. Give. It. A. Rest. It isn't unreasonable that these step-siblings would feel some unsavoury feelings about loving each other - but I don't think it is as taboo as they were making it out to be. They became step siblings later in life, and even if they hadn't, there is no blood relation. It's similar to those stories where a neighbour kid is taken in by the family, or one of the siblings good friends comes and lives with them for awhile. No blood relation.
There was no finess in the writing of this taboo story. That is what irked me. But there were a lot of funny names and descriptions of positions. I didn't realize that many of those positions had names, I thought they all sort of fell under the broad title of "modified" (modified missionary, modified doggy-style, etc).
Anderson usually does better than this.

Surprisingly... a good read. Very entertaining and perfect for a one-shot kind of story. It’s very short and to the point, jumping right into what the blurb said.
I admit, I was a little skeptical going into this book because many in the same genre often disappoint. They usually lack chemistry, no sexual tension, or just plain unrealistic to the point of cringe-iness. Even though the situation that happened in this book are a little far-fetched, it’s very well-written.
Despite that, there are some hiccups here and there. Obviously the characters are very shallow and two-dimensional, but I digress. It’s $2.99 so I guess that’s okay? You decide.

Total mixed feelings about this book. I'm listening to it on the Read Me Romance podcast and it is SUPER hot. But the photographer is so skeevey to me, I just can't listen anymore. She sounds like a sexual predator and it was giving me the creeps.

Finished this book in one sitting. I thought it was a quick sexy read. Between two step siblings. I think I'm beginning to get more and more into these "taboo" reads. No I don't have some secret fetish to bone a family member or something LOL!! But I guess this risque taboo reads are just fun to read about sometimes.
And I thought it was hilarious how they downplay what they were doing...like this part in particular:

Fairly steamy but not convincing in the slightest - wasn't phased by the slight tabooness of the brother/sister relationship at all. Very frustrated that anyone could possibly think that what they did in the photo shoot "didn't really constitute sex" - was this story about 14 year olds? The characters were idiots and the way it ended was terrible, but I won't spoil.
I've read a lot of erotica novellas and they usually manage to get a fair punch in the short number of pages but this one didn't do it for me.

Given that this was a short story I'm almost embarrassed to say I almost DNF. Basically, it's a novella based around Melanie and her overly protective stepbrother, Kurt. Melanie is an aspiring model and is getting ready for a go see and Kurt wants to know what it's for as he doesn't like the part of town it's in. Kurt and Mel have each had a thing for each other for the past 5 years but have kept it under wraps, buried. Kurt insists on going to the go see with her and Lo and Behold, she gets the job and the photographer is out of her male model so Kurt steps in so Mel can book it. The shoot turns out to be an 'exercise' book based on sexual positions and so Kurt and Mel end up naked taking the photographer's direction and getting more and more explicit and sexual with each other. What killed me about this story was both the H and h kept on saying almost every time they moved an inch, 'it's ok because it's just for a better picture' - if I wasn't so bored I would go back just to count how many times that thought is repeated over and over and over. It's so completely not credible. And then there's Kurt, he comes off as kind of dumb ass during the whole shoot or at least to me and Mel's character felt superficial.
I guess this story is a YMMV story based on whether you just want the salaciousness and a quick jump into taboo or whether you like your characters and their stories to be more than surface deep and be believable enough to suspend you suspension of disbelief.
Total fail for me.

The last Evangeline Anderson book I read was Str8te Boys - and it's the only book that's ever made me get up off my couch and turn down the A/C...so I could slap myself for taking so long to try another one of her books, because this story was no different and wicked hot! The fact they Kurt and Melanie were non-blood related step siblings didn't bother me at all. In fact, it worked so well to ratchet up the sexual tension laced through the story. My only complaint is that I wanted the photoshoot to conclude sooner so the h/h could be alone. I got my wish, but not before lots of panicky page turning on my part. I could go for re-reading this again soon :)

This is one of the sexiest stories I have EVER read and the reason I am blown away is because there is nothing kinky or naughty about this book (apart from the obvious if you view it that way) but the sexual tension between these two is totally off the scale. I was absolutely riveted.
As always with this author, I loved the two characters and was dying for them to seal the deal, as it were. I LOVED IT!

Well, aren’t read me romances supposed to be new original works? This is the 2nd one I’ve noticed that is not. This is an older book, originally published in 2014 and doesn’t even have the read me romance branded cover.
Okay, back to this book.
The plot is overly ridiculous. How they end up doing the shoot is dumb. I can’t see a guy going to school to be a lawyer is going to blindly sign a contract. Since they hadn’t been paid right away, that contact could not be enforced without “consideration” despite what the photographer argued.
How they went on and on about how forbidden what they were doing was dumb? From what I gathered from the story, he was about 17-18 when their parents married. She’s two years younger. They didn’t grow up step brother and sister. They aren’t blood related. There is no forbidden element here.
However, I will admit like others despite the above, the author nailed the hotness in this story. Like it was probably the hottest book I’ve read/listened to in a very long time.
The narrator was really good too.

Picture perfect. finally i understood the meaning behind it. it was a quick read and pretty steamy but i thought it could be written into a full length book! nevertheless, the forbidden feels were nice (not blood related siblings btw) and i loved how kurt sought for heroine's permission before doing anything intimate.. but on the other hand, it does get pretty funny considering how they agreed on other than that, its not a bad read!
