Snowfire by Charlotte O’Shay

This lovely, opposites-attract Christmas story is just perfect for cozying up in front of fire while sipping hot chocolate and indulging yourself with a few homemade holiday cookies.

An accident has derailed ballet dancer Natalya’s life. She hasn’t been able to dance for some time and her ballet company has her on a wait-and-see employment schedule. But she’s feeling stronger and determined to get her old life back. Dance was her life. She’s itching to get an audition and show her company she’s back…even though still not medically cleared.

Natalya has sacrificed a great deal for her passion, including food. One night while she’s walking home after a brutal rehab session, she stops at a local bakery and –for once- treats herself to something decadent.

Enter Luca Fiero, baker, hunk, and ex-con. When he spots Talya, and she is so hesitant to order something, he thinks it’s because she has no money and, on the spot, comes up with a fictional bakery cookie contest. She can have the two cookies of the day and choose her favorite. For free.

Natalya is drawn to the dark, muscular, mysterious man in ways she’s never been to a guy before and before the week is out, Luca has made the cookie contest official just so she will stop by his bakery every night.

The two form a friendship they both want to explore as something more, but for reasons Luca will not tell her, they stay platonic.

I hate spoilers so I won’t tell you what happens next, but just know this story warmed my heart because it proves love finds you no matter who or what you are, your present life, or your past mistakes. It was meant that these two opposite in every way people get together, and O’Shay has done a perfect job of showing them just how they could be.

5 heartwarming Holiday stars from me.

Crushing It

Very cute and short read. There are things that I'd wish had been drawn out a bit more, but other than that it was a very cute read. I enjoyed it a lot.

Auld Lang Sighs

Ever read a book that is drawn out and full of miscommunications? Ever wish it wouldn't be so drawn out? Read this story then. There's some build up, but not much. It's a very cute story with a bit of steam. I want to read more about this couple!

I really love that one of the main characters is an ex-con. I also loved that the other one was career driven and was very passionate about what she did. I'd love to see back stories about both of these characters. Especially what happened to the dancer.

Merry and Bright

This story covers something that a lot of holiday stories don't. It's not about somebody who finds love when they are least expecting it. It's about somebody who feels unappreciated and wants to get away from her home life for a bit. It's a really wholesome story. I enjoyed it very much.

Four Nipple Sam

I can't say that I loved this story, but I can't say I hated it either. It was okay. It was really cute. There are things that I feel should have been detailed more that were glossed over in my opinion. I also think that other things should have been done differently. I'd read more works by this author.

Love on the Lifts

I really enjoyed this story a lot more than I thought I would in the beginning. I had thoughts that it was going to go on a different path than it did. It really was very wholesome!

Naughty List

This story was fun and spicy. It was also very sweet. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I actually would have liked to see more of this story if I'm being honest.

Mistletoe Mishap

There was a bit of cringy angst in the story, but other than that it was really great. There's a part in the beginning that I wish had been drawn out a little more. Other than that, this was a really adorable story. I loved the couple in this story! They were just so cute!

Don't Leave

This story was very short, but very sweet. Two people who are trying to get away from their family and their jobs rent a cabin. Only they didn't rent the cabin. They rented a room. It all winds up working out, and it turns out they have some mutual connections!

Highland Vows

I enjoyed this story. It was rich with a culture that I'm not really familiar with. I really enjoyed learning about it. I also loved that the main character in the story is a photographer. I'd have loved to see more of this story. I'll have to track down the story that's referenced at the end of the book. It's definitely worth it.

Captivated by You

I really would have loved to see so much more to this story. It's short and sweet and to the point. I'd really love to get to know the characters more. Maybe the author will one day write more on them. Who knows? I also love that this takes place in Georgia, and that the author is from Georgia!

Toys for Tats

This story was really adorable. I was kind of expecting more steam than there was. Not that I’m complaining on how it was. I was just expecting more. I was really hoping to hear at the end of the story I'd hear all about how this is part of a series. I was fully intending to get the series or put it on my wish list. No such luck! I'll still check out other works by the author.

Flirting for the Holidays

I thought this would be full of a lot of miscommunications and angst. I wasn't crazy about the idea, but I prepared myself anyways. It wasn't. I really want to see more into this world! I'll have to look to see what the author has out!

The Next Tomorrow

This was a very adorable and short read. I really loved getting to see the author's writing style. I think I would have liked to seen some of the parts of the book prolonged just a little more. I'd have also liked to see more of the past. Especially from the male lead's point of view.

Yule Be Mine

I think this is a very cute story that has a lot of potential. I really would have liked to see more of the back story and more of the scenes a little more drawn out into better detail. I also really didn't care for the main lead at all. I get her reasons for being the way she was, but not her actions. I'll just leave it at that.

It's All About David

This is a MM romance. I was convinced that there was a full novel set in this world with all the references about their best friends and them being so in love. I would love to see one. I would also love to see this story turned into a full novel as well. I would suggest another read through though. Just to clean it up a bit.

Lie To Me

This was an okay story. It was cute and gave some very adorable vibes. Not to mention it had furbabies! Who doesn't like a story with a sweet pet? I feel like there could have been more. I just can't quite put my finger on what it's missing for me. I didn't dislike it though. I found it very adorable.

Winter of Love Anthology . . .

This is a romantic collection of stories featuring enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, fake relationships, and forced proximity, all wrapped up with a chilly winter theme to help you cuddle up and share their stories. With the variety offered, there is plenty for you to enjoy! Below is a review of one of the stories to give you a general idea of what’ included.

*** Reviewing “Flirting for the Holidays” by Heather Scarlett ***

Heather Scarlett’s story plays on the enemies-to-lovers situation where we meet Francesca Dupont and Aidan Somers as they struggle to work out their differences to their benefit when forced together to solve another last-minute problem. Francesca and her sister, Felicity, find themselves in a difficult situation as Chateau Felicity has made it to the finals for a National Sommelier Award that could provide much-needed publicity for their business. At this critical time, their head chef announces his retirement because his first granddaughter is due any day and he wants to be there for his daughter. But Felicity has a plan to rescue them and hires a celebrity chef with plans of his own. Aidan’s success at overcoming a scandal and proving himself may threaten Francesca’s goal of winning the prestigious Sommelier Award and saving their business. With both of them having their careers on the line, can they work together and not only reach their goals but perhaps find something even more valuable to them along the way? You won’t want to miss this story! Watching the family come together to help support each other will definitely warm your heart.

This review and rating is specifically for Naughty List by Melanie A Smith

(I received an ARC for this book)

I started judging right out of the gate. Joanie was fired for…well, being irresponsible on the job. Purposely, just to get herself fired. Maybe next time, just quit? Sometimes, being in her head was a little much. I was glad those were silent thoughts and not for public consumption. Especially the way she thought about her best friend’s man?! And it only got worse. Less of those inner thoughts, and I would have enjoyed her as a character more. Joanie is extremely straightforward and enthusiastic, and I DID enjoy that about her! Greg is more reserved. He finds her forwardness as a turn on, but liking her is a tricky situation because of his own friendship with her best friend’s man. So, he pumps the breaks and turns this into a slow burn. That best friend of his warned him to be careful with Joanie, and I have to be honest, I’m glad he did. I was so worried he was going to get too attached and she was going to carelessly destroy him. One of those ‘he deserves better’ situations. This honestly deserved the space of a full length book. There wasn’t enough space to understand the characters, especially Joanie. Or maybe just completely take out the sudden introduction of Greg’s family? That felt weird. And so did her sudden want for more. It wasn’t until after I finished reading and had all these opinions that I was told this was an introduction to Greg and Joanie’s full length book. That should be at the beginning, not at the end.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “Anticipation can be pretty fucking hot too.”
• “Make me scream it, like you promised.”
• “I can’t wait until you make that noise because I’m between your legs.”
• “As much as I want to taste you, I want to fuck you more.”
• “Tonight, I’m going to worship you.”

CW: toxic parental unit

Review: This is a review for “Naughty List” by Melanie A. Smith.

While you don’t have to read Tough Love: A Forced Proximity RomanceTough Love to enjoy this little novella, I’ll be honest…knowing everything about Mia and Nate before reading about Joanie’s sexcapades was definitely a bonus. Plus, Tough Love is a stunning book. Much like everything Melanie writes, that one just hit the spot (my full review for that coming soon!).

Joanie lives life on the edge and she lives it hard. She goes all out and does whatever she wants, but she’s also a really loyal and generous friend. I loved everything about this woman and knowing that she and Greg get a full book of their own next year made me the happiest person alive. And then there’s Greg, a small town mountain man who is everything that Joanie didn’t know she wanted. I loved how soft and quiet Greg was, how despite all of the money to his name and everything else that he has, Greg’s just a normal dude.

“I may have gotten her to scream my name. I may have owned her orgasm. But the real truth is, Joanie Morris owns me.”

These two are instantly drawn to each other the minute they meet and from there, their relationship is the most entertaining. It’s a novella, so giving away all of the details would totally defeat the purpose. But just know that Greg makes Joanie work for it and he drags it out till she’s champing at the bit for just one night with him. Can they just enjoy one night together, though? This book is HOT. Melanie has a way with steamy scenes that does the trick every single time and she didn’t hold back with these two either.

It’s also hella funny and I cannot wait for more of these two, because it definitely looks like they’re going to be so much fun!

Thanks to Melanie A. Smith for generously providing me with an advance copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from the beginning and the pace of the story kept me interested till the very end. I loved the Hallmark-ness of the NSFW book, and I couldn't help but laugh every time Joanie got horny over Greg (who wouldn't want a piece of Greg the Mountain Man?) I loved that the man wasn't one of those tall, 6-foot-plus fictional men because this gives the short kings a huge chance at love.

The smut was incredibly steamy, hot, and intense, and it was the epitome of naughty. Definitely lived up to my expectations of Christmas romance. My favourite part was the thrilling chase in which they did their own version of foreplay.

As I finished this book in one sitting, I'd recommend it to people who want a short, to-the-point romance with no angst, high sexual tension, and explicit sex scenes that will leave them panting and jealous.

A fun novella/short story with Joanie, Mia's best friend from Tough Love!
It's a fun story with lovely cameos of Mia and Nate, and plenty of chemistry between Greg and Joanie. They were wonderful together! It's a pretty quick read with fun banter, small town Christmas traditions, and steamy scenes.
I can't wait for the full story of Joanie and Greg to come out!

Naughty List by Melanie A. Smith

After finishing the advance reader copy all I want for Christmas is to be put on the Naughty List! Melanie did a great job in this short novella of laying the ground work for the full-length novel coming out in 2023. I can't wait to see how the city girl and the mountain man continue on.

FMC, Joanie, is a badass lawyer, who recently lost her job and travels 'home' for the holidays to be a third-wheel with her friends; Mia and Nate. Joanie ends up meeting Nate's co-worker, the MMC, Greg - he has a strong, caring, lovable personality.

The slow-burn was intense, the jokes were funny/cute and the spice was spicy!

I only read Naughty List by Melanie A. Smith, and if the whole book is like this story is well worth the time!

We all know that small-town romances have that special vibe that makes everything seem wonderful - or the Hallmark vibe as Joanie would have said.

Joanie was let go of her job, as she made sure would happen, and is invited by her best friend to go spend some time with her, to help and participate in the Alpine Ridge Winter Festival.

As soon as Joanie sees Greg, she wants to have him. And when he turns and sees her the feeling is mutual. So, the rest of the story is about the festival, Joanie and Greg getting to know each other, and the sparks between them and the need gradually growing.

Although it started only as sexual attraction, they are a good match and I enjoyed them together. This is a short story but had the necessary depth for me to love it.

I loved Joanie and Greg, and want to read more about them. Which I'll have the luck to do in the future. Not wanting to spoil it for others, I'll just say that I loved that ending! Joanie was amazing! They are simply perfect for each other!

Also, Mia and Nate are adorable! Which made me add their story to my TBR.

I rated this story 5*! Thanks for providing me with the ARC.

Naughty List by Melanie A. Smith

Hurricane Joanie blows into Alpine Ridge to spend the holidays with her bestie Mia after getting fired for having sex at work. Here's the kicker, the sex was bad to boot. She's on the prowl for a good time and a guy not in 'daddy' territory as far as age is concerned, so when she sees a spectacular backside attached to an equally handsome man...the tingling sensation occurs. 😏

Greg isn't prepared for Joanie, but the truth is Joanie may not be prepared for Greg. While he keeps "Bev the beaver" fully alert, the mountain man has also found a way into the deepest part of her heart. So what started as a flirty, potential holiday type of fing; the city girl and the mountain man find themselves giving each other more than they bargained for this holiday.

If you've read Melanie's Tough Love, you're going to love returning to Alpine Ridge and getting a glimpse into how the town celebrates the holidays. The banter, the Hallmark-esque feel but with incredible steam will have you reading non-stop. I can't wait for Greg and Joanie's full book because this novella was a perfect introduction.

This is an ARC review specifically of one of the stories in this anthology, Naughty List, by Melanie A. Smith. I received a copy and this is an honest, voluntary review.

The most important thing I could note here isn't just that it's everything you'd want from a steamy-cute Christmas romance. It's how funny this story is! Joanie's frank and hilarious narration keeps the story rolling and adds so much depth and enjoyment.

Greg is a sweet guy and obviously caring, yet he doesn't come off as a mismatch for Joanie. His efforts to play it cool can be really amusing, though he does find his footing when matching her naughty banter. Add the best friend and her fiance, plus ample self-aware jokes about Hallmark Christmas movies, and it's a very well-rounded story even with the shorter page count. I felt like I got to know everybody really well.

This was a fun, short and steamy Christmas romance in a small, snowy town, with just the right number of missteps on its way to an HEA.

The following review is just on Naughty List written by Melanie A. Smith which is one of the stories featured in the Mine This Winter collection of stories!

Joanie finds herself visiting her best friend in a sleepy little town after being fired from her job as a lawyer after getting caught in a little office romp with a co-worker during working hours.

While visiting Mia and and Nate, she meets Greg- Nate's best friend and is instantly attracted to him. Nate warns Greg to steer clear because Joanie is definitely a player. However, Greg is just as attracted to her but he's looking for more than just a quick fling and doesn't act on his attraction, which makes Joanie crazy!!

All in all, Naughty List is a quick enjoyable read with much of the storyline on the attraction of Joanie and Greg but we did get to know Greg a little better as the book went on, and truthfully I liked him more than I liked Joanie.

I also liked Mia and Nate and will be looking to get their story, Tough Love, into my hands to read.

This is Naughty List by Melanie Smith. The story itself was ok but I did not care for the main female character of Joanie. She seemed so full of herself and only out for sex. She was too forward and outspoken to really take a liking to her. Greg was a handsome, nice and caring kind of guy. During the story you find yourself hoping that Greg wises up and ditches Joanie for someone who would be as kind and caring as he was. Joanie was very abrasive and really thought no man could say no to her. I just found it hard to believe that Greg would want more than sex from her.

This review is for Melanie A. Smith's Naughty List. Joanie is happy being an attorney and living on her own terms - which is usually as wildly as possible. When she loses her job, her best friend Mia convinces her to come to her small mountain town for a vacation and to take in their winter festival. When Joanie meet's Mia's fiancé, Nate's best friend Greg, she instantly decides a vacay fling is on tap during her visit. While Greg is completely down with that, will they both find themselves looking for more under the Christmas tree than just some steamy fun? A fun, entertaining, super sexy holiday read.

Naughty List by Melanie A. Smith

This book was everything I needed :) There's a naughty city girl, a sexy mountain man (not exactly), a cute Hallmark-y small town, and a Christmas festival that gives a warm and cozy vibe. There's a sufficient amount of backstory and character development in such a short novella. But what I enjoyed the most was the pacing. It's intense and quick, full of steam, and yet surprisingly low burn. It's amazingly well-written. One can almost feel Greg's assertiveness and passion :) And the shift in Joanie's world was perfectly portrayed. A feel-good holiday romance book I highly recommend.

Naughty List - Melanie A. Smith

Joanie is a strong woman and does not beat around what or who she wants. She is that friend with no filter and does not apologize for much. After getting fired from her job, Joanie goes to visit her friend, Mia, in a small town.

Greg is friends with Mia and Nate. He is usually a quiet guy, but when he meets Joanie, she brings something out in him. Together there is an explosive heat and passion that has them wrapped up together.

I love Joanie's strength and fight, especially when standing up to Greg's dad. Amazing read and worth being on the naughty list for.

This is a wonderful anthology of Winter Romance Novellas and Novelettes.

Crushing It by Sofia Aves

I loved this short less than 40 page story very much. Kidnapped before a big hockey game, Crush finds himself in the trunk as he wakes bouncing around. Next thing he knows, he's on the side of the road however far from the big game and no idea how to get back. Along come a car with a sweet girl who will be the answer to a couple of his prayers I suspect.

Auld Lang Sighs by Rebecca Conrad

This one is a little longer than Crushing It, but just as good! Do you ever have that friend that you want to remove from the friend zone and go to the end zone? Well this is the story for you. Billie comes home early from being tortured mentally by a family member to find her heat is out. So in comes Lucas, who sweeps in and offers up his couch to her. While they go through the daily motions, you get to see their internal 'struggles'. This was a fun and sweet read.

Received Naughty List as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Enjoyed this fast paced easy to read novella romance that was cute, funny, cheeky, naughty and steamy. Loved that Joanie was sassy, snarky and unapologetic about who she is and what she wants. There seems to be so much more to Greg and I'm keen to read more about their full length story when it comes out. But this one ends on a sweet steamy HFN. Since I also bought the anthology, can't wait to read the other stories too.

Naughty List by Melanie A. Smith is a sexy Hallmark Christmas movie-style but much, much dirtier city-lawyer-meets-her-mountain-man romance. Joanie literally starts this one off with a (story about her most recent) bang, and once she meets Greg it's a non-stop romp through icy cold holiday traditions and red hot encounters between the two.

Though I really enjoyed this sexy holiday-themed novella, my favorite part might have been the note at the end that said their story would continue in a full-length book in 2023! ;)

What a fabulous collection of stories just in time for the holidays. My favorite story is Snowfire, by Charlotte O'Shay. I'm a big fan of her stories and this one is no exception.

O'Shay always has unique characters with distinct, well-rounded personalities and deep emotions. This story is between a ballerina and a baker. She's dedicated her life to being the best dancer and performance. He's had a troubled past and is a reformed ex-con working in his family's bakery. He's smitten the moment he sees her and woos her with cookies...it's a sweet, steamy ride that will give you all the feels. I highly recommend!

This is a short, steamy story about a woman proudly on the naughty list!

Joanie is visiting her friend Mia in the small town of Alpine Ridge. She is between jobs at the moment. While helping decorate the community center for the upcoming carnival, she meets Greg and is instantly attracted. Lucky for her, he seems interested in her, too. However, with all the festivities for the town carnival, alone time is hard to come by….

This story was slow to begin with, but became increasingly enticing to the point where I could not put it down. I feel like the ending was incomplete, I wanted- for lack of a better word- more. I wanted to know more than what I was told; it came to a point where I just couldn't put this book down. Over all, this novel deserves a high rating because it was deliciously good.
