Oversize special issue! Superstar writer Joshua Williamson pens the beginning of the next big DCU event! It all starts here! A new Dark Army made up of the DCU’s greatest villains has formed on the edges of the Multiverse! The DCU’s best and most powerful heroes are pulled together in an epic war to push the darkness back! But in the end, they are no match for it! That’s right, you heard it here first: the Justice League are killed by the Dark Army, with only one survivor to warn the remaining heroes of Earth about what is coming for them! FINAL ISSUE!
I liked the part where the Justice League got trolled. I would have given this 5 stars if Barry Allen had died too, but oh well, Williamson already dealt with him in JLI.
I’m sure the League will totally stay dead and this will have a lasting effect on the comic book industry, and not be undone by years end. Totally.
No spoilers, the title of this comic is the Justice League dies. The only impactful death was the one prior to everyone else dying, made me sad, but honorable death. Interested to see where we go with Dark Crisis but not mind-blowing or anything.
So this was slightly underwhelming? Like we already knew that they were all dying but it was very straight to the point without big battles or team ups to even try something, at the end it felt pointless to have all those villains since Pariah took me out with a snap.
Kinda silly that Black Adam was the one surviving, I guess that it’s because of the movie.
It was ok but it felt like plot just moved from Point A to B on a straight line without any big surprise or something, I guess that this was really a prelude for what’s to come and the big battles and surprises will arrive with Dark Crisis #1.
At least Ollie, WW, Superman and Batman got *cool* deaths, Jon too, the others were like *puff* blink and they’re gone.
7/10.

Sometimes I wonder who these epic crossovers are for. As far as I'm concerned, DC could have done all this rebooting with one giant-sized issue with some magic arm waving and said the multiverse is back, deal with it. Instead, we get things like this issue which is simply a continuation of Justice League Incarnate (which is itself a continuation of Dark Metal and Infinite Frontiers) and a prolog to Dark Crisis, which means that nothing really happens. Oh, you say the Justice League dies? Well, we've all seen that before, and I'm sure they will stay dead just as long as those other times. Lest you think I'm too cynical, I really applaud DC for bringing back the multiverse, because it opens up a lot of storytelling opportunities. I just wish they'd get it done with and go on to something less convoluted. The artwork by Rafa Sandoval and Jordi Tarragona is very good.
You can really consider this Dark Crisis #0. What I don't like about this is that it has a lot to do with Williamson's Justice League Incarnate series. Only because it annoys me to keep jumping between books. Can't we just make this more straight forward to readers?
The story itself is solid. None of it is shocking or surprising though. DC has been telling everyone for months what happens, plus it says what happens right on the cover. Hopefully, Dark Crisis will have more of an impact.
Otra CRISIS? YES, Please!
I'm not sure the JL title is for me anymore. It feels like we jump from big event to big event with nearly a year of nothing in between. Leviathan! The Source Wall! Etc! Then Wonder Woman dies, so her mother takes her place! But then... Meh. No really cool adventures or even a decent Justice League for the last year. And now... Big event! This issue is better than what's been typical lately, but I miss reading stories that are worth reading (across the board, really, Nightwing and Superman Son of Kal El, and a few others, aside). I'll probably finish Dark Crisis (because of my pull list) and let this title go, but I hope it'll be entertaining to see the next generation take up the fight - kind of like they did in Dead Planet.
Why wasn't this included in the official Dark Crisis TPB? Did they bank on putting this and, 'Justice League: Road To Dark Crisis #1' together and cash in on a lil prequel to set the stage for the big event?
Don't know. Seems wrong not to put this in, as this is the groundwork for the whole series.
Spoilers! (HA!) The Justice League gets their asses handed to them and they do exactly what the cover states. They all get off'd. Will it last? (Do you really READ comics??) Just enjoy a not so metaphysical romp through the DCU. ---- Spoilers: Black Adam with an eye patch would be cool Bonus Bonus: Just enough context to be dangerous. You'd have to read SO much to understand it all
This was more like a 3.5 for me. It had some really good moments but was not as impactful as I was hoping. It does set the stage for Dark Crisis well and builds excitement for that. Some of the pages were really cool. I particularly enjoyed the Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman vs Pariah moment.
I heard from a great YouTube comics channel ((GemMint)) that this would be a nice jumping on point for JL, so I decided to try it out.
This issue is a prelude to a new event called "Dark Crisis."
It was pretty good. There have been many Crisis events over the years & I'm not an expert on any of them. So I think I'll go back and learn a little more about Pariah.
Joshua Williamson brings the Darkness as things ramp up for Dark Crisis-- Story was really great but the art felt a little uninspired to me--still good but lacking that little something extra.
Justice League Incarnate is gone. Superman Diana and Bruce Wayne are gone. Oliver Queen is gone. Black Adam is back with other members of the Justice League and Justice League Dark.
