Ok, I admit I had to read this one twice, because my first reading I just thought "oh, this is weird." But I read it again and I now have an appreciation for the goofy weirdness of a snail wanting the human girl to get her comeuppance. It's super silly, yes, and it's a bit odd with the somewhat exaggerated art and story. But I liked it. It's a good story about not letting your anger get the best of you, knowing how to apologize sincerely, and about taking others feelings into consideration. It will have a niche audience for sure, but for those who find it and want a very different, very silly picture book that is a bit unlike any other snail story they've ever read, they will find a kindred spirit in Ari and Ms. Snail.
