Dragon Slayer is full of secrets, betrayal, steaminess, and darkness. I was looking for a new MC series to be addicted to, and here it is.
Did I read this book in one sitting? Yes, I did.
Did I abandon all my responsibilities? Yes! Oh Well!
Did I become addicted? Yes, just like looking for my next fix of sugar.
Was I utterly pissed over some actions? Yes, and you will too! I loved it!
Was I secretly hoping one character would shape up? Ugh, Yes! I was rooting for him.
Did I want to inflict bodily harm on a fictional character? Yes, I hope he goes to the stabbin cabin.
Nothing excites me when they piss off the wrong heroine and underestimate her. Genevieve is my kind of girl. We read her journey as the daughter of the MC President, training for her part in the club. Other people have other plans. And boy, do they underestimate her.
I love Chino, but some of those choices he made, a far from questionable, and I wonder if he knows the whole picture. His loyalty is blinding.
A new fan favorite with me is Malik. I always have a thing for psychopaths. His Demons run dark. Some of his demons match Genevieve’s demons.
Sweet Diego, well, not really sweet. Just on the sweeter side. But mark my words, don’t think it is a big old softy; he will not let anyone hurt her. Fiercely protective.
Overall, Dragon Slayer is a fantastic read. The author paints a very vivid world, with danger lurking in the background. I can’t wait to see how the author spins this one. I, for one, will be here for it.

First time author for us, and we have to say we are still reeling from the story but, the series is off to a great start. Talk about an emotional roller coaster for the read. We had many emotions run through us.
Now that I have had the time to stop reeling, here are some of my thoughts....
As we started before, this first installment is one emotional roller coaster and the story is not for the faint of heart it is full of violence and darkest and sexual misconduct, so there may be triggers for some but, it is also filled with darkest and hate and jealousy and one of the worst betrayals in a family member could endure.
I would have loved to have been in the mind of Genni's father and what he was thinking, or was he only thinking to protect his legacy where his daughter was concerned? And what of her father's chosen protector for her?, especially being best friends with her stepbrother, Jaeger. Genni Dad and the President seemed to be a man admired well liked, and it seemed he really cared for his children, so we are trying to figure out did he see something in Genni others missed? And what about his son in sheep's clothing? And is trust in Quinton? Seems like another miscalculated step.
Genni beyond the odds rose from the ashes to be a woman who was fierce and brave and found companionship and a connection with both Diego and Malik and was woman enough to state she needed not one but, two men to find peace and happiness.
The chemistry with this trio is off the charts and the men couldn't be more different, but, they are the perfect balance for her and she them.
Overall, this was a story that drew you right in, had you thinking and wanting to scream and cry at the same time, and the suspense real and threatening. Jaeger nothing can stop what is coming your way, and we hope it's justice served. Quinton, you were such a disappointment, we hope you redeemed yourself in the stories to come. We also hope to seek more answers next time around into Genni's father way of thinking. Have to say we really enjoyed this one and can't wait to see what happens next.

Honest to God I don’t know why I kept reading this for so long. I was hoping for this to get better but although I’m here for a woman getting stronger and more independent, I couldn’t read more.
Most of the time I was confused. I was the embodiment of that meme of the woman full of math symbols around her, looking utterly confused. Because, what the hell was that?
I’m not one to cringe over taboo things. I’ve read far worse and still will. But, I don’t even know how to describe how I’m feeling about this, truly.
There was potential, but you really did miss that window of opportunity…

I inhaled this freaking book! It has everything you could want in a harem! Twins, step brother, step brother's bestie, all of it! It's my favourite book by C.A. Rene! I can't wait for book 2! If you love RH MC books, I highly recommend this!

Guys... I genuinely don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, I hated it. This is a MC romance so misogyny is to be expected, but holy hell I feel like I was hit over the head with a club (lol pun not intended but I'll take it) full of misogyny. And because there were so many POVs (Genevieve (FMC), Jaeger (Steel Dragon), Quinton (SD), Diego (Hell's March), Malik (HM)) from rival gangs (Steel Dragons vs Hell's March), it was really hard to figure out who tf the love interests are. With it starting out with SD MMC POVs, I was so frustrated because these men are terrible (her stepbrother (Jaeger) tries to kill her and threatens her multiple times but not in a dark romance sexy way, like he actually wants to kill her but then he is also attracted to her so I'm confused, and the other SD guy (Quinton) literally takes her virginity and then fucks a club bunny that same night and then Genevieve AGAIN that same night).
Then when shit goes down and everyone believes the worst of Genevieve and literally sell her out. Then, we get more shitty guys from a different shitty MC but somehow they're a little bit better than Jaeger and Quinton but the other guys in their MC are rapists so what does that say about them? That said, the plot has a fucking death grip on me. I want to see Genevieve burn the world down but I'm hating all of the men so far. I almost want her to tell everyone to fuck off and choose herself. This was released back in October and book 2 isn't to be released until March so unfortunately by the time it comes around I probably won't care enough to read it. We'll see.
CW: attempted murder of FMC (by one of the love interests - at least I think he's supposed to be), brief mentions of rape (current, not past but it's just mentioned that it happened, no details), OW (the love interest that takes her virginity sleeps with a club bunny literally right after- this is also like 45% in the book too, it's not right in the beginning)

Team 'bad guys'!...?
First and foremost, Jaeger is a weepy d-hole. Like seriously, I just cannot. Do I ALWAYS pick the a-hole? Yes. This time? No. Chrissy NAILED it writing this guy as dislikeable. He's horrid and I don't know if he'll be redeemed or if it's even a plan.
Mind you, I'm currently on page 163. Page 163 and I'm sickened by Jaeger, pissed at Quinton, and obsessed with Laith. The teacup welding 'listener' has my heart already. I don't care.
And Genni? Adore her. I spend a fair amount of time disliking the FMC in books, but never Genni. Is she strong? Yes. BUT she's not so bullheaded that's she's stupid, she admits when she needs to learn and she isn't afraid to do so. I love it. And with the foreshadowing I know she'll need all the backbone she can muster. Jaeger has manufactured something despicable. I know it.
And then Malik!! And Diego!! I went from 100 to 1000 with my excitement for the next book. I absolutely loved where this one went and left off. I'm SO stoked!!

CA Rene has done it again. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this first book, Dragon Slayer in her new MC series Steel Dragons MC. It was so good I read it in a few hours.

Jaeger is unhappy about the secret plans and decides to take things into his own hands. Well, shit goes sideways and nothing goes according to the plan that Genni knows about.

What a BAD B!! Did not want to put this book dowwwwwn 🙌 The only thing that kept me from giving five stars was the FMC’s quick acceptance to both men. Which I am HERE FOR, so don’t get me wrong but after what she went through I would have liked a littttttle bit of appreciation.
This story was fast paced but didn’t leave me feeling like anything was missing. Written well to keep you hooked, doesn’t drag out and bore you to death and has you cheering as the FMC gets what’s hers.
And don’t get me started on the men she chose. *swoon*

This was so good. I thought when I started this book I was getting into one thing, but as I kept reading it turned into a whole different thing. You know what they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This books is the ultimate revenge plot, and I’m over here taking notes from the bad bitch herself. She was broken down and built back up like a phoenix rising from the ashes to burn down every person who ever wronged her and I’m here for it!

I’ve never hated a character as much as I do two of these guys! The story is so so good, and I can’t wait to see what V accomplishes with the help of her guys. She’s such a boss woman. I’d like to have a love affair with Malik. That man is everything. Can’t wait to see what they do next to kick butt.

Wow. This was such a great start to this new series by C.A. Rene! This is my first time reading her books, and I have zero regrets. Some elements that this book had that I couldn’t get enough of: forbidden attraction, tension, betrayal, rebirth, and a kickbutt heroine. Genevieve really went through it in this story, but by the end of the story, she was not to be messed with. And I absolutely loved it. Hated what she had to go through, but loved her development. Now, her potential guys. Absolutely here for Diego, Malik (I’m a sucker for the psychos), and Laith. Quinton and Jaeger can go die in a ditch. Their redemption will have to be crazy for me to ever be their fans. Absolutely recommend this MC book!
Also a side note: for me, I’m not labeling this as a step brother trope YET. The elements are there, and I know we will get there. But, for me, not enough happened for me to be able to label that as a trope.

This is the beginning of a dark vengeance story and I am here for it. The author set the story up quite nicely, dropping hints and leaving clues around here and there, only to completely twist it all around. I love it!
Genevieve is a nice, well-rounded character with depth. When we first meet her, she’s naive and pampered with bouts of sass and spine showing through. She’s put in impossible situations, threatened by someone she’s supposed to be able to trust, betrayed, and backstabbed more than once. Through it all, she tries to keep her head and figure out the truth. Unfortunately, things come to a head before she finds someone to confide in and then everything changes.
This story starts out rough. We get the POV of several characters in addition to Genevieve’s, and it can be hard to tell who is trustworthy, who might end up as a viable love interest for Genevieve, and who is going to betray her or let her down at the worst moment. It really works for the story though, and makes it harder to predict the twists.
This does end on a cliffhanger but not an excruciating one, but one where you’re excited to see what happens next. Can’t wait to find out!

Her world is turned upside down. Revenge will be served! Genevieve is strong now. No longer the pampered princess. She is the dragon slayer!!

Great Start to New Series
In the MC world if you want to think that nothing bad will come to you it would be great if your dad is the Prez and your step brother is the VP. Who would think of doing anything to earn their wrath? Genevieve Varga was about to learn how untrue this was because her world was about to be turned upside down. Just who would have the guts to betray her?!
Would Gen be able to come out on the other side of all of this? I loved this book’s darkness and steam. So much happening in this book and now I cannot wait to see what comes next for Genevieve.

I have to say I think this is one of favourite book form C.A.Rene . I Literally devoured this in this in go I couldn’t put it down so desperate what happens next . This book is dark, twisted , steamy and I ate it all up! I don’t want to give anything away is All I can say is that if you're into motorcycle club then you will certainly love this book! I highly recommend you this book you definitely in for wild ride !!!

Oh, my god. I'm speechless. This book was magnificent. If you love why choose and motorcycle books, this is it. I'm urging you to read it now. There were so many twists and turns and betrayals, my head spun, and I was just entranced. I'm pretty sure I'm in a book hangover right now so I am so sorry to my next read. I am so ready for the next one!

I have to say that Dragon Slayer was quite the crazy ride that kept me on the edge of my seat. Genevieve (aka V) is the MC Princess as her father is the President of the Steel Dragons MC, and yet, she wasn't treated so much as a princess by the men around her (it infuriated me to be honest). She's naive when the book starts out but this girl develops into a boss b*t*h by the end because of the awful things she had gone through. There are several men in her life that we get POVs from so it definitely elevated the book to really seeing all sides but the jury is still out for me when it comes to these men. The twists are definitely coming hot with betrayal after betrayal, and the story isn't even over so now I really need more. This is a story that will get the heart rate up that's for sure so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I loved the plot and can’t wait to see where it goes as the series progresses. Genevieve is going to be one badass FMC. I can see it now! I cannot wait to see her character develop further.
Be warned, the actions of some of the MMCs are questionable and will make you quite cranky throughout the book. There are a couple of them on my shit list right now, so they have some serious grovelling to do to redeem themselves ! IYKYK!!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Dragon Slayer and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Dragon Slayer by C.A. Rene is a dark why choose motorcycle club romance. This is the first book in the Steel Dragons MC series.
I absolutely love Chrissy's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved getting Genevieve, Jaeger, Quinton, Laith, Deigo, and Malik's points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Dragon Strife to be released on March 14, 2023, so I can get more of Genevieve's story.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, motorcycle club romances, why choose romances, contemporary romances or romantic suspense.

This book was phenomenal, I had so much intrigue with the characters that it was hard to put down. The storyline was solid and had me on the edge of my seat, while the characters had a lot of growth. I cannot wait to continue this series!!!!!

Holy freaking sh!t this book was AMAZING!!
I was hooked from the beginning. I love MC books and this has everything I wanted and a hell of a lot more.
This book had so many twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, full of secrets, betrayal and the start of vengeance 🖤 All the characters are so different but when I met Malik, well he is my perfect brand of psycho 😍
Genni is such a strong character, I love her and can’t wait to see how she grows in the next book after everything that happens.
I don’t know if a certain person is redeemable to me but we shall see what comes next 🖤
The spice is sooooooooo hot 🥵 and the violence is on point and descriptive which in an MC romance has to be.

Betrayal at its worst…
Genni is the daughter of the Steel Dragons MC president Victor Varga. Victor has a vision for the future of his MC but is keeping it to himself until all his pieces are in place. Genni is the queen on this chess board and he must prepare her for when the time comes where he is no longer on that board.
Genni is young, treated like a Princess and is in no way ready for what her dad has planned.
Her stepbrother Jaeger has been made VP of the Steel Dragons just one step away from what he has dreamed of since he was 14yrs old. When he over hears a conversation between Genni and their dad he is overcome with bitterness, anger and instead of confronting them he concocts his own plan. One that will set catastrophic reactions into play.
Genni must face betrayal by ones she called family, kidnapping and sexual assault. Learning to place her trust in someone new isn’t going to be easy especially when he’s part of the rival MC.
This was a dark and twisted story that will have you torn in different directions. I’m not sure how I feel about the characters involved. Genni was betrayed by one person but is planning to take down the whole MC that she grew up with, they don’t know the whole story and she doesn’t have the whole story.

Yeah a one star but I'm still gonna read the next one because I needdddd to be proven wrong about these characters.

This concept is so good. The FMC being brought lower than low, only to rise up and become stronger. Love that trope, whatever is called. Love the dark romance aspects. I can ride with a lot of shitty things happening, especially if revenge/redemption is in the cards. And truly a lot of that was in this book. Like,,, a LOT. The hinge point for me though is that the majority of it comes from the MMCs themselves. From both sides of this story (the then and the now). IF the author can pull off redemption arcs for all these guys, I can see myself loving this series. As it is, I read through a ton of my top most despised things to come across (from the MMCs, at least), and whether or not it will all be worth it is still up in the air. We'll see how the next book goes.

Here are my random, disjointed notes from reading:
🔹The taking of her virginity scene gave me the ick and he's so proud of himself afterward for tearing into her and making her body like "art" with the amount of blood afterward and not making her come and not even realizing she was in pain the whole time because he so focused on himself. A real winner here.
🔹A couple hours later he fucks his favorite club bunny to get the FMC out of his mind but we're supposed to find it romantic that he thinks of the FMC to get himself hard enough to do it.
🔹She then sees them naked together and puts two and two together and is hurt but because of body betrayal, he taunts her with having just slept with the club bunny (more than once, assumedly, since he did it with the woman in the main area then she was in his room with him when the FMC knocked) into letting him fuck her again that same night and also tells her "I already know I'll never feel this way with anyone else." Girl please drop him.
🔹If ^this^ stuff is your idea of romance because the manwh0re later decides he only wants the FMC, that's really sad.
🔹The constant talking by the MMCs of all the women they fuck. The beginning, middle, or ends of their time with said women they fuck separately or together. Why am I subjecting myself to this?
🔹The mega ultra slut shaming and "I can smell the yeast from here" of all the strippers and club bunnies by the old ladies and the FMC and even the MMCs and other side characters. Also the slut shaming of the FMC.
🔹The actual physical abuse of the FMC by one MMC. Multiple times, resulting bruises and her being terrified to sleep or be alone with him. This is the same MMC whose mother was abused btw and who despised his birth father for it. Apple, what are you doing so close to that tree?
🔹This same MMC killed his step father (the FMC's dad), made decisions that resulted in his mother being killed, and traded the FMC to a rival MC to be raped and neglected and brought to the absolute brink of death. We're supposed to like this guy at some point.
🔹This is the most filthy disgusting misogynistic ultra ultra misogynistic fictional motorcycle club I've ever read about. BOTH of them are. I could go on but I didn't take the notes I should have for this. Just trust me though??
Petty annoyance: The strippers are had on every surface all night long and walk around naked until the old ladies come and kick them out with all the slut shaming and literally spraying them like dogs to wake them and then while the he-men are out, the old ladies clean up the club house AND the members' rooms. They wash and change their sheets, and disinfect every surface from whatever diseases they keep saying the strippers and club bunnies have. What benefit comes with being an old lady in this MC?
🔹The other MMC who just goes on taking orders from and protecting her rapist because he's his president. He at one point says he still hasn't figured out who it was that raped her for weeks, but the lie detector test determined that was a lie because when he told them he discovered her in the basement, the prez literally was angrily spouting that he had kept her there to warm his dick until she died or something like that.
🔹Not the other other other other(?) MMC being jealous of his president bc he got to "dip his cock" in her. The prez is the guy who repeatedly raped her btw, and he knew this even as it was happening. He's then quick to mention that he doesn't actually mean that he's jealous he didn't rape her, because he enjoys consent and actually feeling the woman come. Please do not get me started on the intricacies of how women who are raped can and do sometimes come, and how people need to understand that it happens as a bodily response to forced stimulation so we can stop asking "did you come?" as some sort of indicator of whether or not it was actually rape. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
🔹Wow. Imagine you get home one day and the woman you've started seeing is asleep in bed with another man and wakes up like, "oh you're home, I missed you. Oh, him? He's with us now. I want him too. Don't make me choose." And after being hurt for five seconds, you're just like, "damn baby, that's good. Let us both fuck you now." That's how abruptly these characters were pulled into this becoming a why choose situation.
🔹Not the MMC who betrayed her blaming his mother's death on her when it was a result of his deal with the other MC in order to have support for his little coup that resulted in the one he's blaming being kidnapped and raped for weeks with his approval....
Istg if all he has to do to win her back is push her up against another wall in the next book until body betrayal takes over, I will personally campaign my decided hate of this series all over social media.
"Because of her, and the position she was so willing to steal from me, I lost my mother."
🔹Honestly I lowkey hate them all, even the sweet ones. But having read a different series from this author, I do believe they could possibly....maybe...hopefully....turn this around and have me accepting these MMCs even when 3/5 of her guys are currently beyond redemption to me. Agh please, I want that so bad. Prove me wrong 🙏🏽

My two fave things this author and MC romance put together for the first time. I was so excited to see this advertised especially also being RH and it in no way disappointed. It blew me away.
I loved the characters in some ways loved to hate of course. The writing had me addicted from the first page and I didn't put it down I was hooked all the way through and screaming for more.
Can't wait for the next book and would definitely recommend for other dark MC Romance readers who also like RH. There are triggers so please take that into consideration if have any.

October 5, 2025First off, I thought based off the name it was paranormal but it’s not, still really enjoyed it though. The first half is a little hard to get into but it definitely did not go the direction I was expecting. I think it will make a little more sense with the full series but it’s really interesting.

What an incredible start to an amazing why choose MC romance series. Genevieve Varga is a spoiled daddy's girl who has no idea about the hell fire that is about to rain down on her. Full of action packed scenes and incredible humour and some amazing spice, this series will keep you reading from the first page and desperate for more. Gene is about to burn down the world and extract her revenge and I am here for every moment. You will be too.
