The Sisterhood: a group of women from all walks of life bound by friendship and years of adventure. Armed with vast resources, top-notch expertise, and a loyal network of allies around the globe, the Sisterhood will not rest until every wrong is made right.
Throughout the years, the ladies of the Sisterhood have delivered their own style of vigilante justice to those who most deserve it. But this Christmas, instead of finding and punishing bad guys, all Maggie Spritzer wants is to bring a little more joy to the world—and especially to a beloved teacher from her past. And as the Sisters unite to find Miss Roland, who seems to have mysteriously dropped off the face of the earth, they learn that no holiday treat is as fulfilling as giving to others . . .
Fern Michaels isn’t a person. I’m not sure she’s an entity either since an entity is something with separate existence. Fern Michaels® is what I DO. Me, Mary Ruth Kuczkir. Growing up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, I was called Ruth. I became Mary when I entered the business world where first names were the order of the day. To this day, family and friends call me Dink, a name my father gave me when I was born because according to him I was ‘a dinky little thing’ weighing in at four and a half pounds. However, I answer to Fern since people are more comfortable with a name they can pronounce.
As they say, the past is prologue. I grew up, got a job, got married, had five kids. When my youngest went off to Kindergarten, my husband told me to get off my ass and get a job. Those were his exact words. I didn’t know how to do anything except be a wife and mother. I was also a voracious reader having cut my teeth on The Bobbsey Twins, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Cherry Ames and the like. The library was a magical place for me. It still is to this day. Rather than face the outside world with no skills, I decided to write a book. For some reason that didn’t intimidate me. As my husband said at the time, stupid is as stupid does. Guess what, I don’t have that husband any more. Guess what else! I wrote 99 books, most of them New York Times Best Sellers.
Moving right along here . . . Several years ago I left Ballantine Books, parted company with my agent, sold my house in New Jersey that I had lived in all my married life and in 1993 moved to South Carolina. I figured if I was going to go through trauma let it be all at one time. It was a breeze. The kids were all on their own at that point. The dump was a 300 year old plantation house that is listed in the National Registry that I remodeled. Today it is beyond belief as are the gardens and the equally old Angel Oaks that drip Spanish moss. Unfortunately, I could not get my ghost to relocate. This ghost has been documented by previous owners. Mary Margaret as we call her, is “a friendly”. She is also mischievous. It took me two weeks to figure out that she didn’t like my coffee cups. They would slide off the table or counter or else they’d break in the dishwasher. I bought red checkered ones. All are intact as of this writing. She moves pillows from one room to the other and she stops all the clocks in the house at 9:10 in the a.m. at least once a week. When the Azaleas are in bloom, and only then, I find blooms on my night stand. I have this glorious front porch and during the warm months I see my swing moving early in the morning when the air is still and again late in the day. She doesn’t spook the dogs. I always know when she’s around because the five of them line up and look like they’re at a tennis match. As of this writing we’re co-habiting nicely.
Most writers love what they do and I’m no exception. I love it when I get a germ of an idea and get it down on paper. I love breathing life into my characters. I love writing about women who persevere and prevail because that’s what I had to do to get to this point in time. It’s another way of saying it doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what matters is where you’re going and how you get there. The day I finally prevailed was the day I was inducted into the New Jersey Literary Hall of Fame. For me it was an awesome day and there are no words to describe it. I’ve been telling stories and scribbling for 37 years. I hope I can continue for another 37 years. It wasn’t easy during some of those years. As I said, I had to persevere. My old Polish grandmother said something to me when I was little that I never forgot. She said when God is good to you, you have to give back. For a while I didn’t know how to do that. When I finally figured it out I set up The Fern Michaels® Foundation.
Fern Michael's does it again, she wrote a story of hope, intrigue, Christmas love and giving from the depth of your heart. The sisterhood and brotherhood got together at the "war room" as it is called at Myra and Charles beautiful home. Maggie had an idea for their Christmas mission this year & as she presented it to the guys and girls one night a week or so before Thanksgiving. She wanted to collect money for a Christmas gift from the heart to the people in their life who they felt changed their lives. During much discussion, it was decided that they were happy with the way and reason their lives turned out....that is everyone but Maggie. Myra and Annie could see how inwardly upset Maggie was over their decision. The next morning Nikki went over to Maggie's home to check on her. While there she asked Maggie why she was so upset with the decision for the group not to go ahead with the idea Maggie had presented. You need to read the book to find out what happen from there......And the Angels Sing will draw you into a beautifully written Christmas story that at it's end you want the story to keep on going and going. A real must read this beautiful Christmas season.
This was the very best Christmas storytelling ever! I needed to be in the moment and this has been what I needed to put me in the spirit of the holidays. It is what the world needs at this time. Love is the solution and that can be achieved without money. Christmas is all about our heavenly father and the title of this book.❤💝👑❤
I have read every book in this series and have liked every one. Fern Michael's is one of my favorite authors. Maggie, when she was a little girl had a Teacher who had a club foot. She was attacked and Mash the found her. She couldn't stay with her because she had to get on her school bus. She wondered about her for years. It was a great Christmas book.
A beautiful story about finding an inspiring teacher that had an incident that changed her life as well as Maggie’s. Since she is my favorite character, the book was great to me. I loved the help and care and respect the characters gave to the homeless folks that they helped. Overall a feel good story.
This book is a ten star book I cried at the end of the book completely different from the sisterhood stories but so great to read I highly recommend this book to everyone Dorothy Schaefer
Loved the book; fast moving but had good detail. The world needs more Sisters. I would love to be a part of this group. They do what is meaning of sharing your wealth. Keep the stories coming Fern; you have a good heart!! 😍
If u r like me and want to like and enjoy the characters you will love this read. The plot keeps it attention and I r not sorry I chose this book. I am ready to begin another read by this author
I've read all of the sisterhood books but I think I missed one! I don't remember how Kathryn hurt her leg! And all the good they did for the mission. That is the reason for the season! Read this book! You won't regret it. You might even shed a tear or two.
So nice to read a positive story about a group of friends helping others. No violence, no rough language, no sad tales of woe. It reminded me of older, nicer stories that were enjoyed by all the family.
This is different from the other Sisterhood books but in a very good way. If you can read this without shedding a tear, then you aren't human! This is a really great, heartwarming story!! I love it and I'm sure you will too.
I could not put this book down. From the first chapter to the last page, it had me in a trace. The Sisterhood series has again added another 5 star book review from me. Thank You Fern Michael's. Please keep this series going.
Fern Michaels always delivers. Anyone who needs a feel good moment will like and appreciate this book. The Christmas spirit is alive and well. I hope who reads this always "hears the angels sing".
What a wondwrful story. I give it 5 stars because it was so uplifting. If only we could all be as fortunate as these folks to.be able to accomplish so much Enjoy the book. There are angels out there
Wow. This is a wonderful addition to the Sisterhood series. A story that isn't about getting even and settling scores with the bad guys; but a lovely telling of the impact a teacher had on a young child that still haunts that "child" decades later. This is definitely a feel good story. Enjoy!
I loved this story so much, especially as it was all about helping people and improving situations for all! The perfect book for this time of year... Christmas.😇
This was a beautiful Christmas story. I loved reading it. You could see the love of Jesus being honored. I would tell anyone to read this wonderful story.
