Sheryl refuses to spend the Christmas holidays peering around every corner hoping not to run into her ex flaunting his new tart in small town Pineville. Her boss, Clarinda Finley obliges by sending her on a job to Seaside Inn. A beach front property owner is having trouble drawing in customers, while other rentals close by are thriving. Where is the line drawn between historical appeal and modernization? Keeping Chris Madden satisfied will take all the patience Sheryl can offer.

I am the author of this book and wanted to share some of my thoughts. I love the spin that Mrs. Claus's ornament puts on books in this series. In Christmas at Seaside Inn, it adds a bit of fun and mystery to this suspense filled, heartwarming romance. The story takes place on a resort island, where the owner's Inn is in desperate need of a facelift. Sheryl comes to save the business.
Historical takes on a different approach, as aspects of the owner's heritage become clues in the form of dreams given to our heroine, leading to uncovering a family treasure. I was inspired how it all came together, super pleased about the greatest treasure of all-love - and this book has it in spades.
Sheryl and Chris had me winding around twists and turns until the final showdown. I love it when characters write their love story and do the dangerous things I would run from. lol I hope you enjoy reading this holiday romance as much as I did writing it.
“Mrs. Claus is all about spreading Christmas cheer—especially to the many lonely-hearts seeking friendship, love, healing, second chances, and that special someone of their own.”
“These books are designed to be a fun, quick read with a touch of magic and romance. Each of the Ornamental Match Makers stories will read as a stand-alone and are created by various authors. They are clean, heartwarming tales. From historical to contemporary, from heartfelt to humorous, from magical to inspirational, each of these sweet romance stories ends in a festive happily ever after that will leave you wanting more—so be sure to check out all the titles by multiple authors for this series.”
I absolutely loved this story—it has it all, a clean, Christian-based, not preachy story, a touch of mystery, suspense, and even danger—a merging of history and present-day—and the beginnings of a romance. I liked the chemistry between Chris and Sheryl. Both have been hurt in the past, but they place the past in the past and move toward the future—in getting the Seaside Inn restored. “Sounds like you got it all wrapped up with a red bow. It’ll be a treat to watch you in action.” Chris: I’ve lived here all my life, inherited the job from my folks when they unexpectedly died a while back. Sheryl: Inheriting the job does not sound like home sweet home.
The story has a mystery that dates to the 1700s, and Sheryl will experience unusual and lifelike dreams that will take her back in time. There is also a riddle that came with a unique Christmas ornament.
“A pearl of great price; where dreams, life, and love collide, spring forth unrefined treasure.”
The dreams are so real and lead Sheryl to find a hidden tunnel—and a room that is part of the house. I loved the dreams, where they lead, and how they help with solving a mystery that was several hundred years old. The reuniting with God was especially touching and allowed healing.
“Out with the old and in with the new. Might as well commit to the spiritual realm since I’m already tearing up my roots at home.”
Mrs. Claus, Father Time, along with friends, family, and acquaintances from the past and into the present, makes this a heartfelt story.
Will Sheryl be able to help Chris bring his inn into the present day without losing the charm of the past?
Sheryl is going to miss Christmas with her family but is happy to not see her ex with his new flame.
Chris has been betrayed by women in his past and he's trying to resist the temptation of the young, beautiful lady who wants to help him get his Inn open and bring in new guests.
But then Sheryl starts having dreams that seem so real except for the fact that she is in the late 1800s.
Will Chris be able to help Sheryl figure out her dreams?
Marlene Bierworth Is the author of book 38, in this wonderful series.
Mrs Claus has delivered another Christmas ornament to the seaside inn. As with the other books this fore tells the joining of hearts. 💕 Sheril is so over ex-partners, and new girl friends. The chance of spending Christmas else where, even if it's working, and missing family, encourages her to pack her bag. The inn however was a let down. Thankfully Chris the owner is eventually happy to take her opinion and change his out dated hotel and change himself. 🎄🎁 These two hearts touch together and they celebrate their love. With the ornament on the tree.
Chris Madden- has a broken heart for many years that left him in a rut, until the not so nice neighbor wants to buy his Inn. Sheryl Joplin- Works for Worlds Destinations and in wanting to avoid an arrogant ex with his new fling over the holidays she accepts a job at a seaside inn. Wow!! Loved it! What an exciting and interesting story line. Mrs. Claus, and Father Time with riddles,an ornament and real-like dreams, a greedy neighbor/enemy with a secret, and Family- current and from the past with a touch of mystery makes this a heartfelt and engaging story. Their story has a sweet and loving ending but needs (I want) an epilogue for an absolute hea.
This book was a surprise and a very pleasant one at that! As Sheryl travels to Shelltide to rescue a dilapidated inn, Christopher, the owner, is leery about the much needed updates, concerned it would become just another oceanfront hotel. However, as the two planned and worked together, the combined vision to marry the old and the new became a reality. But could their two worlds also combine into reality? Is the spark between them just emotion or the real thing? Between the mysterious dreams and the discovery of a hidden addition, the reader will be transfixed until the end.
A standalone Christmas story, part romance, part mystery with intriguing characters, twist and turn plot and a HEA resolution. Add Mrs. Claus's fun ornament twist - A natural blue colored pearl in an open oyster shell. Christmas magic and miracles come in strange packaging. A treasure - a pearl of great price, where dreams, life and love collide. Even Father Time comes ashore and brings a new song, where dreams, love and treasure refine. Can Mrs. Claus bring together two hearts Sheryl and Chris as the bring new life to Seaside Inn?
He hires a company to help him with his Inn She goes and they become friends. He is willing for her to help - but her has to approve of what happens. It is an OLD house and has lots of history - and amazing rooms. And then she starts dreaming - totally bizarre dreams — and they start to search for what she dreams. And find some it!!! An amazing book — totally loved it. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
This book is absolutely wonderful! It has wonderful characters, beautiful scenery, romance and a mystery to solve. The cover is beautiful and the story inside is just as beautiful. I loved it! I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Once again Marlene Bierworth's new book has God's theme of redemption running through it.She has a beautiful way of expressing it that comes across naturally and without a drop of preachyness. But it also has more. Romance and Love, A great Mystery story, new Beginnings and Creativity abounding. Her books are a must read. You won't be sorry.
This series is a fun series in case anyone is reading this as the first Ornamental series book. The series in a series is a unique idea. I hadn't really wanted to ket go of Mrs. Claus and her ornaments just yet. I loved the hidden parts of this story and the tiny bit of mystery. A good read to get your mind off your troubles on a weekend.
Fun read. The authors expressed intention was to write a short enjoyable book and she accomplished that. However, a brief book does leave one wanting a few more details. One could also argue the old showbiz saying "always leave the audience wanting more". All in all the brevity did not detract from the fun I had reading the book.
I've enjoyed every book I've read in this series. Some have been historical while others are modern day. They all offer a fun take on Mrs Claus. This one is full of mystery as well as romance. I so enjoyed watching Sheryl and Chris grow together and seeing him return to his faith. A wonderful read that I totally enjoyed.
An easy to read book that is a great story anytime of year. Loved the story with the gradual romance. Great characters and a very nice story full of mystery. I received a copy of this book but all opinions are my own.
A new job to leave a relationship behind is filled with dreams and mystery. The two people are finding hidden secrets and at the same time romance is blooming. An entertaining read.
