Two stories in one. First Edge is on a stagecoach that is held up. Everyone but himself, a young boy and the woman he's traveling with survive. He hunts the raiders down to get revenge.

Second is set in the Civil War. With Edge and his six viscous men and a group of ex-slaves causing trouble to the Southern armies.

Ultra violent entry in the series. Not that any of the previous ones have been anything but. This, though was pretty gory. Lots of decapitations. Heads smashed by wagon wheels. Gun shot wounds by the bucket fulls. Not for the easily nauseated.

The wagon guard, his severed arteries in his throat sprayed blood on the terrified passengers, an old lady faints. More passengers had bullets pumped into their flesh raining blood. The bandits sends bullets into the the stomach, intestines falling out a half digested beef jerky hit the ground. Edge's love interest will be captured and Edge will get his girl. In the meantime Edge has another flashback of escaping the enemies supply depot with a bunch of black slaves and Gatling gun. His gangrene saved. The Gatling gun will be used to tear bodies to pieces of pulpy meat and tissue. Edge and his troops massacre people on a plantation the desire for killing is overwhelming them. A troop will have his head decapitated by a cannon shot, his body continued to ride upright for several moments after his dripping head fell to the ground.

Standard Edge series book in most ways, although there is a love interest. This is a continuation of a story in #9 it appears, which I've not read yet. The book intersperses a current situation in which Edge and a woman traveling with him have their stage robbed, with flashbacks to the war.

Solid chapter in the Edge series. It's another flashback to his Civil War days where him and his squad have escaped Andersonville and got back to the Union lines. The reason he started his flashback was a stage robbery where the stage he was in fell on to a ledge, knocking him out and breaking his arm. Though that doesn't keep him from going after the robbers to go get his lady friend back.

Recommended, the flashbacks are not my favorites but any Edge is worth reading.

Not for the easily offended, politically correct, or the woke crowd. For everyone else this is some seriously fun, violent and over-the-top entertaining storytelling. The story alternates between Edge’s time as a Union Captain in the Civil War and dealing with a stage coach robbery in the American West.
