Holly Jackson was born in 1992. She grew up in Buckinghamshire and started writing stories from a young age, completing her first (poor) attempt at a book aged fifteen.
'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' is a YA Mystery Thriller and her debut novel. She lives in London and aside from reading and writing, she enjoys binge-playing video games and pointing out grammatical errors in street signs.
Not all the books were a 5 star read for me, but I did think that it was a 5 star series. It was a super and fun read!
I also liked that the novella had come out after I had read the series. Even though the novella is set before all the books and how PIp (the fmc) got to investigating the murder I still would recommend that you read it after. Its also a fun way to say goodbye to that world.
The Holly Jackson Collection is honestly a full-on dopamine rush for anyone who loves sharp YA thrillers with real investigative grit. Across A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Good Girl, Bad Blood, and the prequel novella Kill Joy, Jackson delivers consistent tension, tight plotting, and characters who feel way too real to detach from.
What makes this set hit so hard is the progression. You watch Pip go from curious student to someone carrying the weight of every truth she uncovers. Each book raises the stakes without losing the emotional core, and the writing stays crisp, modern, and ridiculously binge-able.
The bundle works perfectly if you want the full experience—mystery, moral gray zones, and that addictive “just one more chapter” energy. Clean storytelling, smart twists, and pacing that never lets you breathe. A total win for YA mystery fans.
Loved this series so much, really got into it and think it is so well written. A great murder mystery series with so many twists and turns it was impossible to predict.
