New York Billionaires #5.5

12 Days of Bossmas

Rate this book
It's been two years since the end of The New York Billionaires. The five couples are all busy enjoying the holiday season. Who's been naughty or nice? What secret has Audrey been keeping? And what on earth do you give Victor St. Clair for Secret Santa?

This is a ten chapter novella following each main couple from the New York Billionaires series. It's fun, it's fluffy, and just a lil' bit spicy. Grab yourself a cup of hot cocoa and catch up with your favorite characters at Christmas time!

Beware, though: if you haven't read the main series, or if you're looking for a plot, this isn't the novella for you. This one's all fun and (almost) no conflict!

Hi there! I'm Olivia.
I write romance with billionaire heroes (despite never having met one in person). They're strong, ambitious, they don't need love... until they meet the women who change their minds.

I love witty banter, smart heroines, big cities and perfectly tailored suits. You'll find all four in every one of my books! 💜

This was a fun sequel to the last 5 books of the series. It spends 1 chapter per each person of the couple in the previous books. You get to catch up to everyone.
I enjoyed this book, except the epilog. Instead of going 12 years ahead and tracking where each couple is, it goes to the kids who were just mentioned in the books. So knock a star off for that.

12 Days of Bossmas leaves off 2 years after Issac and Sophia meet and we get an inside look at all five of the couple as they prepare for the holiday season. I loved seeing the future of these couples and how they are still so in love.

I don't want to spoil the whole book, but all of our couples are out there living their best lives!

I loved the subplot of the Secret Santa - that was honestly HILARIOUS! I love how close all of the friends/families still are (even the 12 year time jump at the end). I am hoping that that was setting us up for some second generation stories!!

This was a great bonus for this series. I loved getting the chance to get to see how the future unfolds and seeing how they've all grown together. This was perfect for the holiday season.

This reminded me of an old Dorothy Parker quote about an actress, “She ran the gamut of emotions from A to B.” I guess for a novella full of epilogues it shouldn’t come as a surprise. By the end the MCs, children, holiday baking, and Christmas prep felt like a version of Groundhog’s Day. At one point all the civilized, gooey patter between Audrey and Carter became indistinguishable, and I had to check who was talking lol. There was one 🌶 scene that livened things up.

Olivia Hayle has written a lovely, heartwarming Christmas story where she has revisited characters from her "Billionaires of New York" series, you don't have to have read these book but reading the series will give you a good insight into their complex but lovely stories.
The first couple to be visited are Tristram and Freddie. Joshua, Tristram's adopted son wasn't his usual cheery self, Joshua was the son of Tristram's late best friend and Tristram had promised him that he would look after Joshua after his death. Tristram and Freddie thought that it was more than just him being a teenage, this story follows the family facing a very emotive subject with sensitivity.
Second to be visited are Anthony and Summer, has Anthony's sight deteriorated any further ? was Summer working too hard whilst pregnant for the second time ?
Cecelia and Victor are next, the once morose and brooding Victor had to try hard to make Christmas good for Cecelia and Philippa, Philippa was the apple of his eye and Victor didn't want anyone else looking after her, he knew that Cecelia was exhausted but he couldn't stand the thought of hiring a nanny, something had to give.
Carter and Audrey were planning their wedding, Carter had to tread carefully, Cecelia had been traumatised by her first marriage but Cecelia had a secret and she didn't know haw he would react.
Isaac and Sofie were planning a Christmas party, all the brothers and business partners of The Winter Confederation were invited. Isaac and Sofie came from very different backgrounds but they adjusting to life together. The secret Santa should be fun, everyone had been asked to buy something ridiculous for their allotted partner.
The short novella finishes with a catch up twelve years later.
Having read all the series I really enjoyed catching up with the Winter families at Christmas.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

This review is just me recounting the events of what happened in the book so I can remember what I've read.

I suggest not reading this if you don't want to know the details.

This felt like an extended epilogue for everyone’s story…

Tristan/Freddie - josh, their sullen teen finally decides to let Freddie adopt him

Anthony/Summer - letters to santa/shopping w/Sophie (secret santa) - currently 6mnths pregnant

Cecilia/Victor - Cecilia's an OCD cleaner, hard pressed for a nanny - victor needs the right one or else none at all because their daughter deserves the very best...they buy a christmas tree

Carter/Audrey - they discuss getting married, they discuss having a quiet christmas, apparently they have a troubled past w/their relatives, something about 4th of july - they discuss Issac's gift, Audrey got him for secret santa, hoping it's not too offensive

Issac/Sophia - Issac tries seducing Sophia into telling him who she's secret santa for, they have a practical, logical, awkward, & non romantic discussion about having children & marriage - at the end of discussion, they decide though that this isn't the proposal, that, that will be later on & better & thoroughly thought out lol

I absolutely loved this novella and cherished each and every moment of it. This series was such an amazing series and a personal favorite of mine. Catching up with old friends and seeing how their lives are amongst the holiday season planted such a huge smile on my face. There were definitely some sad parts because I’ve experienced recent loss last month and within the last 3 years I lost a son, grandmother, mom and a brother…. Last month was my uncle…. So the holiday season always brings me down and I’m constantly lonely. This novella did bring me some cheer and Joshua and Fred’s story truly had me tearing up. It took me down so many emotional avenues. Olivia is such an amazing author. I cannot wait to see what’s next for her. If you’ve read this series you will enjoy this novella and see what everyone is up to. It will certainly bring a smile to your face. This lonely bear 🐻 gave this book 5 Christmas Trees 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 and 2 turkeys 🦃 🦃. I wish you all a blessed and happy holiday season wherever in the world you may be.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for my honest and unbiased review.

This is a very cute, traditional series Christmas novella for fans of Olivia Hayle/New York Billionaires Series. It is absolutely required that you read the series, and the book is pretty much a clean romance.

This is part of the New York Billionaires series each book reads as a standalone with sexy bosses and the girls who captures their attention. Kind of a recap of all our previous couples catching up sort of we get to see how they have progressed each of the five couples. Throw in there Secret Santa which was so funny, the closeness of all the friends that turned into family we get to see some of the pitfalls each couple has to or had to deal with throughout the past years and we also get to see how their troubles brought them closer to one another and their family we learn all this while they are preparing for Christmas Eve party being held at Isaac and Sophia’s basically the families of it all and the love, joy you feel while reading this so with being said everyone have a happy, warm, wonderful, Merry Christmas.

12 Days of Bossmas picks up two years after Isaac and Sophie first met, offering a cozy, intimate return to the New York Billionaires world just in time for the holidays. This novella gives readers a warm glimpse into all five couples as they prepare for the festive season, and it’s a joy to see how much their relationships have evolved.

What makes this installment especially satisfying is how clearly in love each couple still is. The story focuses less on conflict and more on connection, highlighting shared traditions, quiet moments, and the comfort that comes from truly knowing your partner. It feels like a celebratory check-in rather than a continuation of drama, which suits the holiday setting perfectly.

Overall, 12 Days of Bossmas is a sweet, feel-good addition to the series—perfect for longtime fans who want a festive, heartwarming look at their favorite couples and a reminder of why they fell in love with them in the first place.

This book is basically an extended epilogue for Olivia Hayle's New York billionaires series. There's a chapter in everyone's point of view as they prepare for Christmas celebrations. There are children to consider and some relationship issues to sort through, and it's quite sweet and romantic.

Spoiler alert: All the couples are doing good and nobody's lost all of their eyesight yet.

Steam level: with five couples in love, the chances are somebody is going to be sexually active.

Series status: I feel like you probably could treat these chapters as short stories about established couples and understand this book even if you haven't read the entire series but I am sure most readers would care more if they loved the characters in previous books.

3/5 Stars - I'm not sure if this was needed and it really didn't do much for me.

I think there were two major flaws in this novella:

- The whole "plot" of Secret Santa is such a let down when they don't even do a scene discussing everyone's reactions! There's just a quick mention at the end of what everyone got and felt - but I was sooooo looking forward to a full scene of everyone laughing and connecting.

- There was such a heavy focus on kids that it was just sort of disappointing. I LOVE kids and I love them being added into the plot, but to have ALL the epilogues involve kids in some way?? It's just sorta... :/ Repetitive.

I did enjoy some cute moments between Frederica, Tristan, and Joshua. Audrey and Carter were another fun one.

Overall this was definitely a skip in my book, it just didn't have the oomph to make it an interesting novella.

12 DAYS OF BOSSMAS is a Christmas themed update on the couple and their families from the New York Billionaires series. If you haven’t read any of those books, it won’t have the meaning it has for fans of the series.

I was a little worried I wouldn’t remember enough about the couples and their subsequent children, but by golly, I remembered every one with just a few details that jogged my memory. I adored these couples and it was a clever idea to bring them all back in a Christmas themed book.

This is not a story. There is one chapter for each member of the couple giving the reader a glimpse at their family preparing for the holidays. It is unique and I enjoyed it more than I thought I might.

I was really excited to read the 12 Days of Bossmas and to catch up with the friends and family that make up the core group of the New York Billionaires series.

The book, as is typical of Hayle's work, is very well written. The characters are still learning and growing and it is great to see. My biggest complaint is that each chapter of the book is a countdown to the dinner party and secret santa exchange between the group members. We never actually get to read about that night. We go straight from the night before the party to an epilogue 12 years later. The epilogue itself wasn't very satisfying.

It's like receiving a lot of foreplay and then someone describing an orgasm to you.

A Beautiful Multi-Epilogue!

I loved this follow up to the Billionaire Bosses of New York! I enjoyed the fact that they’re all friends now, not just business partners (in fact, just about business partners but pushing the business second). They’re all much closer because of their wives, and now you can see the second generation friendships with the kids. (It would be great to have a follow-up series with the offspring)!

The other Boss Books are available in audio format, but this one wasn’t! Notwithstanding that fact, this was short enough to read on your own, I could hear the “voices” of the characters as they were portrayed by the narrators.

Read in one day. Very enjoyable.

A couple of years after The End of the last book in the New York Billionaire series, we find them again getting ready to have a Christmas dinner together.

This is a sweet epilogue to the series, and we can see how they're all doing and how, even at some points of the series, some couples weren't close, now they celebrate Christmas together.

I enjoyed the way each couple was visited individually in the previous days of their meal.

I think It is a must to have read the series in order to fully enjoy this novella

And... might there be a series featuring at least some of their kids?

What an amazing treat!!! Thank you Olivia Hayle for this beautiful surprise.
In this book we get to see our favorite characters in the previous days before Christmas from their different points of view. We can see their lives two years after the last book and the importance of family for all of them.
It was the perfect novella to end this amazing series. You definitely need to read the rest of the books to understand and enjoy this one. If you did, you would definitely love this book. I highly recommend it!

This was supposed to be a cute little novella about the couples and getting a glimpse into their future, but honestly, all I'm seeing are red flags while they're all well adjusted into their lives.

Things in their relationship that they didn't talk about, little resentments, pointers here and there, awful experience with children and pregnancy no matter how much they try to sugar coat it, new issues that rose after they married, a lack of communication, fights and arguments, personality traits that they didn't have before bubbling in the surface.
Maybe it's because their books were short and not all was said and shown, but they're not getting painted in a better light here. 😒

Y’know how in mean girls they say "on Wednesdays we wear pink"? Well in my house I say "on bossmas we wear ties"
I know, I am SO funny lol
Ma sister floofy loves me for introducing her to this wonderful series!
She was nice enough to call me a mistake like she always does lol
She told me I was adopted (which is true) so shaky hit her on the head with the ticking time boss book
Floofy is ok! Shaky can confirm.
I have read a lot of books.
Haunting Adeline (do not read), Casper the friendly ghost (do read) but NO book will ever recreate the feeling of bossmas. Shaky can confirm again.
