Yar-e-sitamgar revolves around two main protagonists, Faaz Aurangzeb and Amal Jahangir. Faaz, a ruthless and shrewd businessman, believes that the world dances to his tunes and expects the same from the people around him. He gets an adrenaline rush when he is challenged. Amal Jahangir challenges his Mount Everest-sized ego with her determination of living her life the way she wants. When Amal chooses to walk on the ramp and become a model, the circumstances become chaotic as they belong to a very conservative family.
While in their personalities they are poles apart, yet in stubbornness they match each other cent percent. Their lives become tangled when Faaz finds a solution to stop Amal from modelling and they come face to face, only to be parted later.
Yar-e-sitamgar is a journey of ambition, compassion and determination; where both its protagonists are equally stubborn and strong-willed to achieve what they feel correct. Between the clash of different perspectives and beliefs, what they wouldn't have ever expected was love getting in their way.
They were a match made in hell, igniting each other's souls and burning like a tornado. Would they destroy each other or flourish together in the end? Will they ever find their happily ever- after?
Read the sizzling tale of Faaz and Amal and find the answers to these questions in Yar-e-Sitamgar by Neelam Riasat.
Faaz and Amal are two headstrong people who end up falling in love but both are unwilling to change their ways in order to make it work. Some of it comprises of a road trip (& the places they stayed at) that was so much fun to read. It also talks about woman power and freedom. They both make mistakes and it ends up making their relationship a hot mess. The author through this story shows us how a man who claims to be in love with a woman has to whole-heartedly accept her for who she is and let her be the woman she wants to be. I love how this author has her own distinct voice. I have read three novels of hers and all of them were not just fun to read but also taught me a few things. This particular novel shows personal growth and development of Faaz and Amal as individuals and how that impacts their relationship dynamics as well. It's deep. As you grow as a person and end up becoming a better human you actually know how to love someone. And loving someone is all about accepting them as they are as a person. Readers please keep in mind Neelam Riyasat writes rom-coms which are meant to be light, fun and hilarious with a profound message. The romance is meant to make you feel giddy and excited. The depth and intensity are also there to keep you hooked. Do not compare her books (in your mind) to Jannat ke pattay, Namal, Peer e Kamil. Thats not her style and is not even meant to be. And I LOVE that. We need the variety! I thank God that there's a Pakistani author who writes rom-coms and she writes romance so well. I have the best time reading them. You can feel the chemistry, the connection!

I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK to the core of my heart. I’m 100% rereading it the moment I get my hands on the physical version
I swear I wish I could store this book in a separate layer of my brain now you get how much I love it bacha?????
Used to be my least favourite book until I read another book that was so bad. Now it’s second least.
My bad for reading it prior to my flight.
Edit: I should’ve mentioned why I disliked it. The humour and writing style of author was very different. I love some of her works but not this. I couldn’t like a male lead who does marital rape, abuses his wife, slaps her and all that stuff. Abuse is a No from me so I couldn’t.
It's an enemies-to-lovers trope with a note of self-respect in the relationship. I hated the character of Faaz at the start, especially the way he hurt Amal (the female lead), but his character development in the second half was satisfying. I feel bad for Amal; no one understood her throughout the novel except Samad (his cousin and elder brother-in-law). Samad is such a positive character.
I loved how Neelum Riyasat always delivers her lessons with a happy ending. The way she portrays family bonding and its importance in the novel is my favorite thing about her writing.
I also appreciated how beautifully the patriarchal mindset is depicted and its impact on women everywhere. The novel highlights the importance of mutual respect between partners.
What I didn't like about the story was how Amal's father allowed a na mehram to kidnap his daughter on the day of her debut ramp walk, and then the guy forcing her into a marriage is really absurd. I didn't expect this from Neelum. Additionally, forcing Amal to be physical without her consent was very upsetting to me.
On the positive side, I really enjoyed the humor Neelum executed brilliantly in the first half; it had me in stitches. I genuinely enjoyed that part.
Intehai koi uncomfortable qisam ki story hai.BHANG K PAKORHY-seriously? Sirf 2-4 cheezain hain jis k 2 stars de rhi hoon: First yeh k humour is quite good, there're a lot of interesting funny dialogues. Then the start is intriguing, mujhy laga k maybe Ms. Amal has some huge misunderstanding and Mr. Faaz would turn out to be a Not-So-Bad person afterall-but NAHI-He's Sharabi, Kababi & Shababi-aur mujhy uss ki redemption koi acceptable nahi lagi. Itni theek thaak normal families hain magar Faaz ki characterless harkaton pe koi kuch nahi kehta?Woh sab ka laadla sapoot hai jiss ko apni badtameez cousin Amal ko lagaam lagany ki duty di jaati hai...Mujhy yahan Bushra Rehman k novel "Lagan" ki yaad aai q k uss main bhi Afaaq ka mission tha Falak jaisi bigrhi hui ameerzadi ko aik gharelu si aurat banana-aur yahan kuch aisa he mission Mr Faaz ko milta hai k Amal jaisi sarkash larki ki aqal thakany lagani hai. Wah yeh Khudai Fojdaar!
What kinda sh- that was ???! 3 stars bhi bas humor aur faaz ke bare bhai (molvi one ) ke kirdaar ke. Sab kuch karliya aur end pr aaakar happy end Honestly , i would give it 4 stars if i shut off my brain cells and read it in one sitting. BHANG KE PAKORY i- ???!!! Faaz jis qadar arrogant dikhaya tha jo us ka character tha us ne tu waqai mein amal ko marna hi tha end pr yeh u-turn aik dam se aagya🤡

2.5 🌟 I liked how FMC maintained her self-respect even after going through all of that mess. I hated MMC in the first half of the book; he was bearable in the second half. Also, what is with FMC's father? Who does this to their daughter? I hated him for that. People are talking about humor; I didn't get it. The dialogues were super cringe; they made me uncomfortable. Overall, it was okay if you ignore all the cringe dialogues (which covered more than half of this book).
i refuse to believe this is the same author who wrote hadeed and farbood. hands down the WORST ML ever written by neelam! loved Amal. liked the plot. but faaz absolutely ruined the woman's ego, shattered her self-confidence,was roaming with other women all the while she was carrying his child. and despite his character development, there was not enough grovelling from his part.
