Rate this book
Detective Reuben “Diego” Montoya is back in New Orleans. Thanks to years of working with the dark side of society, his youthful swagger is gone, replaced by straightforward determination. He’ll need it, because a serial killer is turning The Big Easy into his personal playground. His only lead is the ex-wife of one of the victims. Abby Chastain can help unlock the mystery – if only Montoya can get her to trust him enough to face the ghosts of her past. Absolute For the past three months, Eve Renner has struggled to remember the night she was nearly killed and her lover, Cole Dennis, was tried for murder. Her shattered memory has helped Cole walk on murder charges just as a new series of killings begins. Somewhere in the decaying rooms of Our Lady of Virtues Hospital lies the key to a terrible crime – a crime that seems to lead to Eve herself. And the only man she can trust with the search is Cole, her former lover and, just possibly, a cold-blooded killer. Lost Twenty-seven-year-old Kristi Bentz is lucky to be alive. Not many people her age have nearly died twice at the hands of a serial killer. Her dad, New Orleans detective Rick Bentz, wants Kristi to stay in New Orleans and out of danger. But if anything, Kristi’s experiences have made her even more fascinated by the mind of the serial killer. She hasn’t given up her dream of being a true-crime writer - and now she just may get her chance.

Lisa Jackson is the number-one New York Times bestselling author of over ninety-five novels, including the Rick Bentz and Reuben Montoya Series, the Pescoli and Alvarez Series, the Savannah series, and numerous stand alone novels. She also is the co-author of One Last Breath, Last Girl Standing, and the Colony Series, written with her sister and bestselling author Nancy Bush, as well as the collaborative novels Sinister and Ominous, written with Nancy Bush and Rosalind Noonan. There are over thirty million copies of her novels in print and her writing has been translated into twenty languages.

Before she became a nationally bestselling author, she was a mother struggling to keep food on the table by writing novels, hoping against hope that someone would pay her for them. Today, neck deep in murder, her books appear on The New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly national bestseller lists.

With dozens of bestsellers to her name, Lisa Jackson is a master of taking readers to the edge of sanity—and back—in novels that buzz with dangerous secrets and deadly passions. She continues to be fascinated by the minds and motives of both her killers and their pursuers—the personal, the professional, and the downright twisted. As she builds the puzzle of relationships, actions, clues, lies, and personal histories that haunt her protagonists, she must also confront the fear and terror faced by her victims and the harsh and enduring truth that, in the real world, terror and madness touch far too many lives and families.

DISCLAIMER: I HAVE ONLY READ BOOK 5 BUT CANNOT FIND IT IN THE BOOK LIST NO REVIEW FOR BOOKS 3-4

Excellent book. I had so many guesses of who was responsible for all that was happening and most of them were right in some way or another, but I didn't have the keys figured out until the end.

I now want to read the rest of the series!!
