Well, sometimes I shock myself. I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I loved the plot, the humor, and especially the heroine, Angelina. She had an inner strength that I admired tremendously. In fact, I liked her so much that she ended up on my favorite heroine shelf. I was a little disappointed with the hero, Micah, though. From the start of the series, his character was fun-loving, charming, and deliciously cocky. Unfortunately, in his own book he came across as broody, stubborn, and a complete jerk. I understood his issues, and he did redeem himself in the end, but I missed the Micah I fell in love with during the previous books.
I'll admit the reason WHY I enjoyed this book so much was because I SKIPPED the FIVE CHAPTER GROUP SEX SCENE and the TWO CHAPTER MÉNAGE SCENE. Yep, I had no desire to read those scenes. I'm a VANILLA GIRL who likes a SIDE HELPING of kink NOT a heap load of kink, thank you very much.

I am upgrading the book to 4 stars instead of the 3 I originally gave it because I keep coming back to reread it.
PROS:
- I find the love story very appealing and sweet.
- There are some BDSM sex scenes that are amazingly hot, I loved them. I actually thing that those kinky sex scenes are the main reason I keep rereading Sweet Temptation. Let me explain, it is not just for the sex, but also because how that sexual relationship is transmitted through the book. It could have come across as porn, but it doesn't; it’s about their sexual needs, about who they are. I found it beautiful.
“How do you know what I want? You've never asked.”
- The group of friends on these books is really incredible, the camaraderie, friendship and loyalty between all of them is truly enviable and it gives this series an underlying felling of love, family and safety. It wouldn’t be the same without them and I appreciate immensely that they are always present in each book.
CONS:
- I would have liked more insight into Micah’s mind, and I really disliked the part where he went all drama-queen talking about rape after having sex with Angelina, I get the self-loathing but the rest was completely unnecessary in my opinion.
“Guilt is bullshit. I don't want it. Don't need it.”
- The subplot was cliche and predictable. It would have been nice something more original and unexpected.
Audiobook:
I enjoyed the audiobook. I think that the narrator (Caroline Wintour) did a great job transmitting the emotions of each character.
The first time I read the book I actually READ it, the rest of the times I listened to the audiobook. If I come back to this book I will listen to the audiobook again, but I do believe that it can be better enjoyed if it is read instead of listen (at least for the first time).
“I love you Micah. You may not want it. You may not need it. But you'll always have it. It doesn't come with any strings or expectations. It's given freely.”
I would recommend reading this series from the beginning. Micah’s personality can be better understood that way, as well as his friends’ behavior.
I am confused right now as why I didn't give these books more stars back when I read them first, I absolutely enjoy this series.

P.S.: If you don’t enjoy reading about BDSM relationships I wouldn't recommend this book. There is “pain” and shared sex in it, so be warned. Books 1 and 3 are lighter.

Not as bad as I thought it would be...in fact, except for a few chapters/scenes that were way beyond my comfort level, this was a pretty good book.
This was 35-year-old former Miami cop and now Houston security expert Micah Hudson's story. Micah, everyone's sexual "third" from the previous books in the 'Sweet' series, finally gets a lady of his own. Well, not without a lot of dragging his feet/making excuses about why he'll never let himself fall in love again, but he does eventually give in to a very strong-willed Angelina Moyano.
Angelina, 23, is a young woman from Micah's mysterious past, a woman who he left behind when he left Miami. "Angel" was the younger sister of his best friend and cop partner, David. Micah and David fell for the same woman, Hannah, and decided the best thing for all would be to become a permanent threesome. They were a happy trio, until a terrible accident took the lives of the two people who meant the most to him. Desperate to escape the memories of what he lost, Micah packed his bags, headed west, and never looked back. Except for his yearly visits to Miami, where Angelina is an active participant (unbeknownst to him) in his 'penance'.
Angelina has always had special feelings for Micah, even though Micah always treated her like a kid sister. But after three long years of grieving, is Micah ready for a serious relationship? Angelina knows all about Micah's unusual sexual proclivities (they match up well with hers), and her feelings for him have only grown stronger. Now might be the perfect time to make her move. She needs to get out of Miami--fast--because she has a stalker after her, and no one to help her. Would Micah want to see her if she turned up on his doorstep? Or would that just dredge up old memories? When Micah first sees "Angel" after three years, he can't believe his eyes--is that beautiful, sexy woman 'servicing' two men at "The House" David's kid sister? What is she doing in Houston, and more importantly, what is she doing at "The House" (a private sex club catering to BDSM)?
Well, well, well, this was quite the little scorcher! Both Micah and Angelina indulged in some serious kink. At first things were going along pretty much normally sexually between them. Micah told Angelina that he had nothing to offer her except sex (she was cool with that, yet held out hope that she could change his mind and get his heart involved). They were living at friend Damon's sex club while they tried to figure out who was Angelina's stalker, and then Micah made the declaration of "We have company coming over tonight." and then all sexual hell broke loose! OMG, Angel, Micah, and his well-endowed friends Chris, Rick, and Cole had various combos of twosomes, threesomes, foursomes, fivesomes, oral, anal, oral and anal, oral, anal, vaginal, over and over again (at least it seemed that way) with Angelina. And what a trouper she was. Little Angelina would've made a porn star proud. But then the flogging began, the welts appeared, and I really started to cringe. But wait, there's more! Micah's friend Cole is an expert with hot wax--drip, drip, drip...ouch! But Angelina loves the pain, so it was all good. Sheesh. How this woman could even move the next day was beyond me.
So if any of that creeps you out or turns you off, I'm here to tell you that you can easily skip those chapters, and it won't make a bit of difference in the story. All those 50 pages devoted to that one night of sexual excess just demonstrate how far Angelina will go for Micah. The girl was nuts about him. That's not to say that she didn't love doing that, because she was a sub into the whole pleasure/pain thing, but I think she would've done anything, Micah asked her to do.
There are a few more scenes in the book where Micah uses the flogger on Angel and vice versa (these two are pain junkies), but there were some scenes of real emotional and sexual tenderness too (thank God). While a lot of the book dealt with Micah and Angel's sexual "journey" and if Micah could ever forgive himself over his wife and friend's death and really start to live again, there was that little plot point about Angelina's stalker. I was happy to see that Angelina became sort of a kick-ass heroine in the end, and was able to stand up for herself.
So yes, I was expecting the worst with this book, knowing it was going to include some things that I hate to read about (sexual pain), but it wasn't too bad, And dare I say some of it was darn HOT! I liked Angelina, I liked Micah for the most part, I loved seeing all the characters from the other Sweet books and how they treated Angelina like one of their own, and I liked the suspense part of the book. I generally like Maya Banks's writing style, and even when she goes overboard with the kink, I can forgive her. She writes a pretty decent, fast-paced story. So for this one, a solid 4 stars.
Warning: This book contains explicit language and sex, including oral and anal, m/f/m ménage, m/f/m/m? ménage (no m/m interaction), flogging to the point of welts and pain, the use of some sex toys, and...gee, am I forgetting anything? Oh yeah, some bondage. And a little violence. Obviously not for the faint of heart.

There were maybe 50-80 pages of an actuall story here, and that part I really liked, after the big action after they got the bad guy, the ending vas very nice. Everything else in this book was sex. And I didn't like it much. Threesomes can be hot, I've read a few and liked them, but here... oh boy, there was a fivesome in here lol I don't even know what's it really called, but it was just awfull to read, Micah shared her with some guys, and when I say shared, I don't mean then had sex together, no, they had sex TO her, it was like Angel's open buffet, eat what you like, do what you like with her because she is mine and I can do what I like with her (???) maybe I don't get it, dunno, but I read the book with Damon, that guy is into slave kink, but most of that book was so good, it was like he worshipped her even though she plays the slave part. Here, I didn't get that, Micah just got off on the fact that she is "his" and he can do whatever he wants with her. Didn't like it at all.

Reason for Reading: Maya Banks is my crack
Plot: Angelina has been in love with Micah, her brother's best friend, for ever. However, things are complicated because Micah was in a three-way marriage with the brother and another woman. He still mourns their deaths 3 yrs later. Angelina has been keeping tabs on Micah and thinking that the time is finally right, she goes to him in Houston with a stalker (natch!) on her trail.
Ramblings: I'm gonna get to the smex later because there sure is a lot of it.
Micah was introduced in the very first book of this series and I know that his story has been greatly anticipated. I personally didn't have any high expectations because that almost always leads to disappointment and this kept me in good stead because I did like this book. Readers of my reviews know that I do wubs me some good smut.
However, I can easily see other readers complaining that the development of the actual romance is weak and they would be right. Micah DOES have a tragic past but he is basically another Rome from Linda Howard's Sarah's Child . If you haven't read this infamous book (HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK?), it's basically the story of one of those alpha males who can never, ever risk themselves emotionally because they are such delicate little flowers. And they tell this to the heroine over and over again (well, maybe not in those exact words). After a while, I usually starts barking "Suck it up, Princess!"at the hero. To be fair, Micah isn't nearly as whiny as Linda Howard's Rome because Micah & Angelina don't talk much until the Big Talk at the end. Instead, every time a conversation starts, Little Micah usually takes over and its wham-bam-thank-you-maam. But without the thank-you.
Maya Banks (MB) has mentioned in her tweets that this story is the "kinkiest" of the series and I would say that it's true. The level of BDSM in this series has not been consistent. It was lighter in books 1 and 3, heavier in book 2 - Sweet Persuasion (with its controversial public whipping and humiliation.) In ST, there was more emphasis on the SM part of the BDSM. Angelina got off on pain and Micah liked doling it. Altho, I don't care for BDSM in my romantica, I can bear reading it as long as long as none of the following is shown: pissing/marking, lots of bloodletting, branding, or impaling any body part to wood. There is no urine or cruxifcation in the book but I definitely think MB glossed over the description of the bloodletting since Angelina is whipped so often. Another Ewwww moment glossed over - but one that came to my mind anyway - is all that funky tasting going on with so many different semen squirting & mixing during a five-some sex episode.
Oh, did I forget to mention the five-some sex? Micah is a sharer and he gets off on sharing Angelina with other men. One of the men is Cole, who will probably get his own story in this series one of these days, and I gotta say that he is a lot kinkier than I was led to believe from his gentleman act in book 3: Sweet Seduction . I know that I should be more agog than I was by this five-some but I already went thru it all in Qwillia Rain's Meeting a Neighbor's Needs . BTW, I recommend the Qwillia ebook if you like sharing stories and can't find your copy of Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree at the moment.

WOW, I had liked Micah so much in the other books and I still liked him and could sympathize with him until the half way point of the book. After that, I lost all respect for him. What he put Angelina through crossed the line for me to cowardly, cruel and self centered. Time after time he told her he would only give her sex and it would be for his pleasure only and boy howdy it was. The way he had her be involved in a gang bang and numerous whippings made me sick. And every time things got a little uncomfortable for him, he would run away or be angry at Angelina. What an asshole.
At first I thought Angelina was strong but I hated that she allowed Micah to treat her like she was less than a sex toy with no feelings all in the name of love. Bullshit! 5+ stars – Romantic Suspense/Erotica/BDSM/Ménage
I've been in love with Micah ever since Sweet Surrender, and I'd imagined that his story would probably be the darkest of the series. Well, Micah really showed his tortured, brooding, cold side in this, and it definitely has some heavy and hardcore content. And in fact, there were times that Micah made Damon from Sweet Persuasion seem like a total pussycat. Despite a few moments here and there that stretched my comfort zone just a bit, especially during the 30+ page fivesome scene, I found it completely riveting, beautifully written, and seriously H-A-W-T ! And it made me realize how much I love this entire series and wonder why I didn't rate them all 5 stars?!
I really hope Ms. Banks writes Cole's story at some point in the future 'cause he really fascinated me in Sweet Seduction and especially his part in this.

Hated this book. Nothing sweet or tempting about it.
I like to have some romance and love in my erotica and this one just didn't have it. Perhaps it's a matter of personal preference and lifestyle choices, but I just cannot see how love can exist with someone as dominant and messed up as Micah. I also think that Angelina nees to have her head examined as well.
The sex scenes were definitely very hot and well-written, but they still left a bad taste afterwards because the gangbang scene, while hot, was also very cold in terms of emotions. My honest reaction while reading it was that Angelina was some very high-priced and hard-core porn star or hooker in training. There was no concern shown for her well-being and they treated her as simply an orifice--or three orifices.

3.75 Angel Girl Stars!
I was really looking forward to Micah’s story since he was so likeable in the other books. I won’t say I didn’t like him in this book because sometimes he was sweet and loving and sexy as hell but I also didn’t like how he sometimes treated Angelina. It was a real contradiction.
There is no need to read any of the books in this series if you don’t like BDSM and menage/group sex. I think they were all tastefully done but it isn’t for everyone. None of that bothered me but there were aspects of it that were not my cup of tea. I want to always see the guy taking complete care of the female and not mistreating her (unless it is clear that it is that type of book, ie: sex slave/human trafficking). You know in those types of books what you are getting into but otherwise gentlemen, take care of your women!!!

Cheesy and cheesy. Too much sex. Although the sex is very very steamy and alluring, but the formula of the story is the same. Damsel in distress, pathetic plot of stalker or ex boyfriend/ fan, alpha male dominant hero.
I think in Sweet series, Maya Banks only focus on the sex aspect. Not on story, not on character. I found this book OK. I am intrigue with Micah when I read the first book. But it runs out he is very confusing character. One minute he feels sorry for himself the next minute he is this dominant alpha male. But again, this book is not about the character development.

It's taken four books for me to see the pattern going on here: books 1 and 3 were relatively sweet and tame in their depictions of desire and passion, while books 2 and 4 are hedonistic and intense and not for the sexually timid. So that should give you some idea of what to expect here.
Micah Hudson used to be a cop in Florida but for the last few years has worked for a family-run security company in Texas - becoming one of the family in the process. That's about all his friends know about him, that and that he likes women, likes to share them and enjoy them to the fullest, as long as that doesn't involve a real relationship or revealing anything of his past.
Until the day the past finally arrives in Micah's town in the form of Angelina, the younger sister of his best friend David with whom he lived in a blissful, happy ménage à trois with Micah's wife Hannah, a domestic and pleasurable arrangement that ended abruptly when David and Hannah were killed in a car accident. Despite promising David to look out for Angelina should anything happen to him, Micah's grief is such that he desires nothing more than to escape the memories of what he had, and what he lost. When Angelina turns up in his life again, he sees her as David's little sister - and that's the last thing Angelina wants him to see her as.
Angelina has always loved Micah, since she was sixteen and living with him and Hannah and David. And she knows him better than anyone: she knows his past, and she knows how he's been dealing with his grief. Feeling responsible for her, and strangely possessive, Micah takes Angelina in and learns in no uncertain terms that she hopes for something more intimate. Micah's tastes in bed sport run to the extreme, but Angelina is more than Micah's match: she can take anything he cares to give.
When Micah learns that one of the reasons Angelina left her home was to escape an increasingly threatening stalker, he realises he'll do anything to protect her - and not just because she was David's sister.
I enjoy Banks' stories, but I have to leave a great chunk of my own personality at the door when I delve into one. The good news is that I don't mind. It took me four books to really appreciate their Southern American flavour, that they really couldn't be set anywhere else and be plausible. It's not that they're full of Southern "culture", whatever that may be (well, they have their own style of food and way of talking etc., don't they); it's in the characters: the men are big, muscular, domineering, over-protective, gentlemanly but also "manly" - masculine in the cliched sense of beer-swigging, footy-watching, ute-driving machismo. The women are a mix of sassy and sweet, brazen and genteel, "well-bred" and classy or slightly trashy but "good at heart". Ugh I'm degenerating into pathetic stereotype as I write this - such is what happens when you start talking about something, let's face it, inherently cheesy.
I am quite impressed, actually, in how Banks manages to avoid ruffling my feminist sensibilities: which is quite the achievement when you think about it. From the first book, actually, she's had that "agenda" of creating female characters who are confident enough to own up to their sexuality, and own up to their needs in having a Big Strong Man take care of them. I am a feminist myself, but that means I can understand that there's nothing really wrong in this. I wouldn't want it for myself, it's not in my nature or in the way I was raised, but that doesn't mean it's wrong for other women to need what balances themselves. What's "empowering" (and I shudder to use the word, as grossly co-opted by management-speak and the self-esteem movement as it is) is having these very different women (different in personality, but very similar because of their nationality, culture, upbringing etc.) embrace their own sexuality. And I'm all for that.
Angelina is a case in point. She comes into the story fully in charge of her own needs and desires - it's Micah who can't handle the thought of his best friend's little sister enjoying the kind of BDSM he does. (For the uninitiated, "BDSM" simply stands for "bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, Sadism, Masochism" rather like how GBLT stands for gay-bi-lesbian-transgendered: a handy list to capture variance.) Angelina and Micah both enjoy the kind of pleasure it's possible to get from pain, but that's only part of it. There's a rather beautiful and surprisingly gentle exploration of their sexuality, something that could just as easily be taudry, grotesque and obscene.
I didn't find Angelina to be as confused and like a doormat at some other readers - she did not strike me as desperate, not in the derogatory sense they meant. Perhaps it helped having read Sweet Persuasion, the story of Serena and Damon, in which Serena hesitantly faces her needs and desires and Damon teaches her how a woman comfortable in being submissive is stronger than the man who dominates her. It seems like a contradiction in terms, but when you're reading it it makes sense. It becomes romantic. (And you're wondering how I could call myself a feminist, I bet! You'd have to be inside my head, or wait patiently till I can articulate myself better. :) )
For sure the plot can make me roll my eyes - it seems convenient that there would be something putting Angelina's life in danger, because we all know it's not until they think they're going to lose a woman that they realise how much they love her - it's a time-honoured cliche and still highly effective. But that and other cliches aside, Micah and Angelina are believable and plausible because these books are all about character development; plot is just a structure, a frame, on which to bring them together and get them to work through their issues. Because they will certainly have issues - in this case, Micah is privately, emotionally repressed.
There's definitely some sweetness here too, alongside the hero's angst, but the story wasn't as intense as book 2, which dealt with a similar intensity. It's predictable - there weren't even any red herrings regarding the identity of Angelina's stalker - but her resilience and strength gives it fresh life. There's plenty more goodness to come, too. Following the pattern I mentioned at the start, I can say with confidence that the next book will be a sweet one dealing with Connor, while book 6 will be another wicked instalment detailing Cole's story. Yeah I got it all figured out. ;)

This book was intense! INTENSE! The entire book was heart shattering, blood gushing, skin tingling erotic.
Sweet Temptation is a story about Micah and Angelina.
This book is filled with mystery. Despair. Doubt. Betrayal. And I loved every second of it.
Micah has been a free-spirited and sexual charged character in all of the prior books. He is funny, sexy, and adores the female body. A total man whore to say the least.
Micah has been running from the grief of his best friend, David and his wife, Hannah’s deaths.
Fighting against his attraction (notice a pattern here? heh) for Angelina, a tempting and lust filled sexual deviant like himself, he offers her the only thing he can control. Sex. No strings. No feelings. Nothing but sex to be used and abused.
Angelina, David’s little sister, not so little now, throws herself into Micah’s life. She’s not the only one running from demons. Angelina runs away, hidden, trying to free herself from a dangerous stalker.
The House is her playground and the moment Micah sees her, he wanted her with all the throbbing blood rushing to his groin.
As they both share similar kinks, Micah shares her with his friends. The relationships are pretty damned brutal, actually. There were times when I would stop reading and just stare at my kindle in awe. Like .. “Seriously? Holy fkn shit! I can’t even imagine…” but then again .. One must persevere heh

I recommend this book to people who .. well I do NOT recommend this book to people who are closed-minded with their eyes so tightly shut that they can’t see the clouds above them. I do recommend this book to anyone that has appreciated the books in this series prior to this one. This book is for ADULTS ONLY!
Extremely brutal sexual content. Like .. WHOA worthy. Whoa doesn’t even cover it. Most of the violence in this book is consensual, but that doesn’t make it any less thrilling.

Ok I finished this book, but really it was a struggle.
yes, I know its erotica and yes that means that there usually is little or no plot, but I was really disapointed in this book.
IT started off all well and good and I was really intrested in the motivation of the main heroines motivation for taking the choices she did, but near the end I just skipped most of it.
Yeah the sex scenes were rather steamy and not something I usually read, but then I just didn't care. The fact that the Heroine was willing to be used as nothing more than a play thing for the hero and his mates really began to bug me.
OK so it was a bit of S and M and dom and submissive, but I just ended up not respecting the female at all, which is a shame really because she started off really intresting and strong, but as soon as the hero became possessive she melted like butter.
NEedless to say, this book isn't on my to keep pile and I'm not in a rush to read any more by this author.

October 12, 2015I can't carry on with this, I am only a quarter of the way through and am abandoning it! I am seriously beginning to wonder if I want to continue on with this series but I am interested in Connor so will look for his story and I hope (and pray) that is not hard core.

I knew Micah's story would be the most emotional of the four books and my gut was right on the money. It's also the most difficult to review. It was obvious to me from the first book, Sweet Surrender, that under all the charm Micah oozed with the women, it was a mask from a past he wanted to forget. Now it's easy to see how and why he didn't form strong, emotional relationships with women and that it was just about sex. In a fatal car accident, Micah lost his wife (Hannah) and best friend (David). How do you overcome such loss? For Micah, it was moving to a new state, forming a new life with new friends and mindless kinky sex. And let me say for the record that out of all of the men, Micah is the one that brought with the kinkfest!
Meet Angelina (David's little sister)who arrives back in Micah's life, all grown up. Angelina is now a beautiful, voluptuous woman who by the way has loved Micah for years and is determined to make him her's in any capacity. Once Micah gets through the initial shock, and boy is it a shocking moment when they meet again, he is in a battle with himself being aroused and disgusted over his attraction to "David's little sister". Angelina is a strong woman. She became my favorite of all the women in the series. She knows exactly what she wants and has no fear going after it. Angelina and Micah both "own" their eccentric sexual nature. Angelina longed to submit to Micah in every way and when the sexual relationship began with the two, Micah made it clear to her that sex was all he could give her. Micah was a "taker". He took and he pushed Angelina to the absolute extreme, emotionally and physically and gave nothing in return.
The only part that I didn't care for in the story was the 5-way that was 36 freakin pages long! It was hardcore SM/BDSM and it was a little hard to swallow (pun intended)all that Angelina submitted to physically/mentally from that encounter. She didn't waver or complain because her mindset was pleasing Micah but it was a little extreme for me. I was wore out for her and felt like she needed a hell of a lot of alcohol and muscle relaxers to get over that kinkfest! (And let's just say that Micah made Damon look like a kitty cat!) The story, beyond the kink, was very well engaging with a twist from Angelina's past that comes to haunt her. In the end Micah was able to let his strong guard down, put his demons to rest and love again.
Micah's epiphany:
"He stared back down at her face. This....this was what love looked like. Vulnerable, yet strong. Constant, unwavering. She'd fought her way back to him. She was beautiful inside and out. She was his and only his."

It was hardcore SM/BDSM and it was a little hard to swallow (pun intended)all that Angelina submitted to physically/mentally from that encounter. She didn't waver or complain because her mindset was pleasing Micah but it was a little extreme for me. I was wore out for her and felt like she needed a hell of a lot of alcohol and muscle relaxers to get over that kinkfest! (And let's just say that Micah made Damon look like a kitty cat!) The story, beyond the kink, was very well engaging with a twist from Angelina's past that comes to haunt her. In the end Micah was able to let his strong guard down, put his demons to rest and love again.
Micah's epiphany:
"He stared back down at her face. This....this was what love looked like. Vulnerable, yet strong. Constant, unwavering. She'd fought her way back to him. She was beautiful inside and out. She was his and only his."

I had a few issues with this one, most notably, the D/s relationship. There didn't seem to be a give and take. Micah didn't appear to be having sex or dominating for anything other than his own pleasure (including bringing in multiple partners for Angel without any seeming reason for it). He never said anything along the lines of "This makes me happy to see you pleasured". Nope, just ordered Angelina around and treated her awfully. Note that there are several scenes w/multiple partners, including a m/f/m/m/m scene. Where I found, once again, no reason explained for it.
It's always been my understanding that a true D/s relationship works because the Dom truly cares for making the experience on that the sub loves. This seemed to be all about Micah taking and giving nothing back. And although Angelina notes to herself that she's enjoying it, I just didn't buy it.
Three stars because I like Banks' voice, and enjoy the secondary characters (although Julie almost seemed to be a caricature of herself). Also, Micah does admit his mixed up feelings and does his share of groveling at the end. It just wasn't soon enough and enough quantity for me.
I was disappointed in this one and saddened because of it. I really like the other books in this series.

Tambien es una de los libros con las escenas eroticas mas calientes de toda la serie hasta ahora, quizas algunas de las mas calientes que he leido de este autor y estan muy bien llevadas, y aunque algunos de los involucrados son solamente personajes de paso, se sienten sinceros en su interaccion con los protas, tanto que las escenas llegan a sentirse bastante reales.
Ahora, por lo que he leido hasta ahora, este es el libro donde dejaron al viejo Pop de lado completamente, y ese es un personaje que me gustaria muchisimo que tuviera su propia historia, pero al parecer no lo tendra, lo que es una lastima, resultaria bastante interesante conocer la historia de Pop con sus anteriores parejas y cual seria la mujer que lo atraparia.
En fin, solo un par de libros mas para el final y en este caso seran las historias de Connor y Cole, de las que tengo grandes espectativas, espero que no me decepcionen.

Since this is labelled as an erotic romance, I actually found this book very disturbing. It was way, way too harsh for me. In my opinion there was no romance between the characters. Only a blind, raging lust on the hero's part, and the heroine's willingness to do anything to satisfy him. Just to fulfil him so he'll keep her in his life.
The hero (Micah) and heroine (Angelina) both crave pain during sex--in a big way--but it was never explained why, or at least not in a satisfactory way that made me understand it. If it had been, maybe that could have made a difference for me. But I couldn't stand Micah. He was flat out mean and selfish with Angelina, both emotionally and sexually, pretty much right until the end of the book. Most of the menage scenes made me cringe so badly (because I was sure Angelina had to be in absolute agony) that I had to skim over them just to get through it. I found the men's actions cruel and sadistic to the point that I couldn't forgive Micah for allowing it to continue. Actually, I thought the brief scenes between her and Cole were much more romantic and tender than anything that happened between her and Micah. Not exactly what I had hoped for when I bought the book.
This is the first Maya Banks book I've ever read, so it's possible this one was just happened to be particularly hard core and I might like some of her others better. But I'm not sure I want to find out.

This story was nastily unpleasant. Time and time again Micah abuses "Angel girl". Does she pop him upside the head and find someone else. Of course not. She simply takes humiliating abuse. I am a little new to reading BDSM and erotica; this was gross, not sexy.
Maya Banks is an edgy writer. This is a sad fail for me. , and it relates specifically to one particular scene. I can read menage as well as BDSM, but this was just too much for me.

Sooo, funny story… I picked this book solely because it had an apple on the cover. (reading challenge) 😊 And Hot Damn I naively stumbled into a smorgasbord of erotica bizarro world.
Micah’s a former cop that’s had it rough, most recently (3 yrs) he lost two parts (BFF-David & wife-Hannah) of his love triangle/ménage marriage in a deadly car accident. He’s a bit whiny, and has a tendency to run when the going gets tough, but can also be sweet/affectionate when he’s nottorturing sexing his Angel girl. I almost felt like he had multiple personalities; we have Alpha Dom Micah, Sad-Self-Loathing Micah, Avoid Feelings by Sharing Micah, and Lovey BF Micah.
Angelina is the dead BFF’s little sis, and has loved Micah for years. I struggled with understanding/relating to her; it’s hard to find her strong, or not in the need of therapy when she allows herself to be roughly shared, and says stuff like this.
“I don’t get to make the choices,” she said quietly. “I belong to Micah. He gave me to you for the night. If I disobey you, if I challenge you, if I tell you no, then I tell him all those things. I disrespect him. And I love him more than life.”
I just kept asking myself, if she’s doing this because she truly gets off? OR Is she doing all this because she desperately wants Micah to love her? There’s A LOT of kink in this one, and some heavy BDSM, and I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I feel like there was just too much sex. I’ll admit some of it was pretty hot, but almost 40 pages dedicated to a 5-some (nope- not a typo) was really pushing it. Not to mention two chapters of a ménage with three men and a dildo (because 3 cocks aren’t enough) which I thought was overkill. The sadomasochism in this one is way too extreme and requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but I could appreciate the classic clichéd he-treats-her-like-shit-for-the- whole- book-until-the-last-page- when-he-figures-out-he-loves-her-and-grovels-a-bit storyline. The stalker plot was really predictable.
As mentioned by many other reviewers the sex scenes/gang bangs were horrible and degrading, but while reading I was distracted by having to suspend my disbelief. Angelina endured an amazing amount of pain and sexual use (and I do mean USE, Holy shit!) over a short period of time. No rest or healing time. I was mostly keeping track of her injuries and thinking things like OMG! how is she still conscious, her back must be a bloody mess, do they have a medic waiting or something?

Did not like this one at all! Although the last 2 chapters it got a whole lot better, there still was not enough time for Micah and Angelina to redeem themselves. IMO. But I would still like to read the others in this series because there were a few characters in this one that I was intrigued by. Wondering how they got together and their stories in general. But this story, I would not recommend.

This book is hot stuff. Lots of bdsm action, multiple sex partners. This is a dominant/submissive type of story, so be sure this is your cup of tea. Very good story, good suspense. The guys in this series are smokin' hot and extremely alpha. The women are smart and sexy and very independent.

This book in the Sweet Series was so incredibly disappointing. I had been looking forward to hearing Micah's story ever since he was mentioned in the other books. Banks' Sweet series is an interesting series since the books intertwine so much. You have a large set of main characters that are used in all the books, and she ties up the loose ends of the relationships in earlier books in the next one. So I already knew a lot about Micah, and was really excited to hear more about his past, and to see him find love.
Unfortunately, this book was a big disappointment for many, many reasons. For one, I thought the sex scenes were terrible. I want to go on record by saying that I have no problem at all with BDSM or really explicit sex. I read lots of erotic romance, along with quite a bit of menage and BDSM (along with mainstream romance!). In this particular book, the sex scenes seemed to get close to what I'd consider pornography. Not because they were explicit or about BDSM, but because they seemed to go on and on and have little to do with the core romance. The sex didn't really contribute to the story, and I actually found myself skimming pages and pages of sexual description. And what could have been hot, had Banks included more of the emotions involved, was not much of a turn-on. Plus, this particular BDSM was very degrading. In most of the BDSM I've read, the submissive individual has lots of power in his/her own right. In this one, the character of Micah becomes almost distasteful, which is not a good thing in a romance, erotic or not. You have many sex scenes that all about hurting the main female character, or simply about satisfying the male. How is that about the romantic relationship?

I have a feeling I know what Banks was trying to do. I *think* she was trying to set Micah apart from a previous character in the Sweet series, named Damon, who also likes BDSM. Perhaps she wanted to underline his deep turmoil by making the sex especially harsh. Unfortunately, I think she ended up turning the reader away from the hero. While all heroes have flaws, Micahs became much to overwhelming. You can't forgive the kind of flaws she created by dedicating a short number of pages at the end to an apology.
Note to Ms. Banks: Learn the definition of the word "rape". At one point Micah goes on and on about how he "raped" or practically raped the main character. Really annoying. There is no such thing as a "sorta rape". There were no rape scenes in this story, so why is the character going on and on about rape? I'm a stickler for using that term appropriately, and it made me very angry at the writer that she used the term the way she did.
Simply put, much of this book is bad BDSM porn. Which is unfortunate, since Banks did a wonderful job with BDSM in Sweet Persuasion, which tells the story of Damon and Serena. Clearly, Banks can do a good job with BDSM. But I think in this case, she tried to step it up a notch and failed miserably. Since I've already read Sweet #5, I'm looking forward to Sweet #6 and hoping that Banks gets back on track and makes things work again. Why is this series so uneven?

Wowzers. That was quite the book.
I found some parts hard to swallow (such as the quick transition from "I don't want to sleep/corrupt you, you are my best friend's little sister" to "Lets have a 30+ page 5-some"). But the characters, themselves, were interesting.
Micha, was interesting to me. As a man, him and I wouldn't work out (foreplay is important to me. I worry about Angel's inevitable friction burns and tearing, yow!) and I am not sure that I would choose Angelina as a friend. However, I loved reading about these people, and they felt like people to me, like I was reading their story rather than reading just for the smut.

If i could have given Micah's book ten stars i would have. I LOVED it so much, he's been the character throughout the other "sweet" series i've looked forward to reading the most, and OHHH i fell in love with him all over again in Sweet Temptation. A must MUST read, it has everything you'd expect from mister sexy kink Micah. Angelina my favourite heroine from the entire series, she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted and to protect herself and not expect a guy to be her knight in shining armour, i loved her.

I get that this is a fantasy and you need to suspend belief but this book pushed that too far. There was very little explanation as to WHY things were happening as they were and, maybe I zoned out at some point, but I completely missed the part where Micah asks if Angel is ok with having group sex with 3 of his friends. Non-consensual group sex where 4 men use you, degrade you, treat you as an object and then kiss you sweetly and say 'thank you'? Uh... how about, no.

I’ve been expected Micah's story since…ALWAYS….kkk…cuz, until this he was my kind of alpha male, my McDream Man…kkk…so sexy, funny, flirt charming…But then he met Angeline (holy crappy) and lost all those specials qualities&skills… sniff, snif…I cannot help myself…I rested in my misery. Really disappointing…
Let me explain why: Sure, I like both – separately ,as a couple…arghhh…they affected my nerves in a negative way. The sex scenes were hard and hot, no doubt about that (well, I prefer a ‘little light’ threesome – not a crowd…kkk…but whatever…I’m pink girl…kkkkk), however the chemistry between them was so boring: he was always saying: - blah, blah, blah…my little angel…blah, blah, blah…my angel…blah, blah…my angel needs my protection and blah, blah…What fuck?!? For six years he’d not even remembered her existence and then, suddenly, he had to take care his sweet angel as the most precious treasure!….Come on, I don’t buy it. It only annoyed me…a lots…so that’s why ‘Micah&Angeline’ didn’t work for me at all…

I thought that Micah's book would be brutal and I was right. It was clear that Micah likes to inflict pain and that Angel loves having pain inflicted on her. I get this I just don't understand it.
Micah shares Angel with three friends and the sex is brutal. If this was not fiction she would not have been able to walk for days. The whippings were just as bad.
I am going to mark you, Angelina. Not just red welts here and there. It will hurt. It will be beautiful.
The first lash caught her unaware. It was like a blowtorch across her back.
Now this goes on until she sucks off three guys. Afterward she is sore. Sore??? I imagine her skin coming off. The aftercare is a warm bath.
The next day Micah uses the whip on Angelina. No rest or healing for the poor girl.
The day after that she gets whipped again.
Micah stood and walked around the desk. She glanced up and saw him removing his belt.
Now she get beaten with a belt until she sucks off his friend.
I get that she is into pain but there is no way she can move around like nothing happend. She would be more then sore. So again it's good that this is only fiction.
I just did not feel any love or affection fromn Micah for Angel until the end. Despite all this I did enjoy the book. It did push the envelope but the writing was excellent.

I had a hard time settling on a number of stars for this one because I really liked the surrounding plot that provided the climax at the end of the story. And I liked both Angelina and Micah as individuals early on in the story and wanted them to get together. But at about the halfway point I had to start skipping whole chapters to pass over the sex scenes because it was all just too brutal for my tastes. By avoiding these scenes, I was able to finish the book just fine but I can’t exactly rate it as 5 stars when I had to purposefully skip over 40% of the pages just to get through it.
