Surrender
Cole has wanted Tess for years. And he's warned her of this several times. He's also warned her HOW he wants her. Tied down in his bed, under his domination, surrendering to his desires...

Lora Leigh is a New York Times bestselling author of erotic romance novels. Leigh started publishing with electronic publisher Ellora's Cave in 2003. Leigh's longest-running series is The Breeds. She won the 2009 RT Award for erotica. Leigh was born in Ohio and raised in Martin County, Kentucky, US.
19/3 - I liked the first story, Fyrebrand, and would read the rest of the series. I liked the psychic aspect of the story (that part kind of reminded me of another book I've read with psychics being hunted, called The Shattered Door by Lisa Bouchard), but did find it a little, teensy bit too convenient (and funny) that the only way she could ever learn to control her powers was through a life of ménage au trois with two dominating alpha males.
I found the second story, Surrender, a little objectionable due to the dubcon theme. I was uncomfortable with the scenes involving Tessa's introduction to anal sex because she wasn't comfortable. Tessa was pleading with Cole to stop and told him she was scared, but he kept telling her that "she'd like the pain", which was, in her own words, excruciating. She did enjoy the sex, but only after that whole 'excruciating pain' thing and I didn't enjoy that. While I didn't enjoy those scenes, that's probably just me and my dislike of anything that smells even a little bit rapey. I can now say that I don't enjoy dubcon and will know what to expect when I read a warning for that, and will also not complain about it if I choose to continue reading a book with it as a major (or even minor) theme. The four stars is mostly due to Fyrebrand, although it's really 3.5. I'm trying not to consider the dubcon in Surrender because I think that's my thing, not a problem with the story (others more familiar with this particular theme might want to comment on whether this is a good example of dubcon, or a bad one, like I think everyone would agree FSoG is), because if it had been less dubious I believe I would have fully enjoyed the story.
P.S. I hate the cover, there's no hiding the contents of that book (something which is occasionally necessary when you practically live with your grandad). It also might make the unaware reader think that the book is a completely plotless pile of porn, when it's not, the characters do have some motivation for all the sex they have.
Fyrebrand: needed to be longer and more fleshed out but the sexy times were definitely sexy. Surrender: I love Cole. He was determined to get his woman, but wanted her to want him just as fiercely.
Series: "Surrender" (Bound Hearts, 1; also found in Ties That Bind)
The Stories "Fyre Brand" reads like a paranormal-romance B movie and is not written well, and yet I am intrigued enough to want to know if it's part of a series. One thing you can say for Leigh is that she may be all about the sex, but she does write a story to hold it together.
The Psychic Guardians are determined to control or put down people with psychic power to prevent a repeat of Tyre's reign of terror. One way to control them is to bond them with sex.
"Surrender" starts the Bound Hearts series through which runs a theme of threesomes which focus on the woman's pleasure. The couple focus in this one is on Tess Delacourte and Cole Andrews with Jesse Wyman as their third. It's very soap opera-y and not one of my favorites; I suspect because Tess has such a wimpy attitude. Her mother, Ella Delacourte, is so incredibly uptight and vicious that I just wanna smack her; she'll get hers in "Submission".
The Cover and Title The cover does quickly inform that this has an erotic theme: a nude blonde with huge breasts, wearing cuff-like bracelets and a wide black ribbon around her neck, has one hand cupping a breast and she's bent over with a naked man behind her, his lips kissing her tilted up forehead.
The title is a nod to the two different stories with a Surrender to... the Fire.
I don't know how one could spoil the plot of the first novella when there really wasn't one. The book contains two novellas. I read Surrender a while back, and just bought this for Fyre Brand.
I think the characters in Fyre Brand were well-drawn, there is an excellent plot setup, but little actual plot. The author does not waste much time helping us visualize the settings. As an excuse to read excellent erotic scenes, this story earns 5 stars, otherwise I would not recommend you waste time or money on this story.
Surrender is a wonderful tale of a woman coming to face and accept her own demons while a crush turns into a deeper love. The plot is good, the other characters and the settings briefly but well described. The erotic scenes taken by themselves are fantastic. A story like Surrender would make many who fear reading erotic romance take a harder look at the genre and perhaps become hooked. This story ranks 4 Stars on its own.

If you went into this book knowing that you were going to read a book with a lot of sex & not much else, you might really enjoy it. I wasn't thrilled with it, though. The first story, Fyre Brand, was so "out there"... I didn't really care about the storyline or the characters and the sex scenes were so stunted and not very well done. The second story, "Surrender", is the book one in the Bound Hearts series. I thought the storyline was good and Cole was fantastic, but Tess was so immature and bitchy and annoying. I really couldn't understand why someone like him would be hung up on her for two years.
The first story, Fyre Brand was nothing special, 2 stars (and I think I'm being generous). I wasn't crazy about any of the characters and all they did was fight and have sex (and fight while they were having sex). Between all the fighting and the sex, there wasn't much room for a decent plot.
The second story, Surrender was much better, with more interesting and understandable characters. It was also so hot I'm pretty sure steam was rising off the top of my head. 4 stars.
Typical Lora Leigh. Nice to know the story of Tally & Cole from Bound Hearts series. Fyre Brand was a different story. Not sure if there are other books in a series for this. Really more a science fiction story. I liked it.
OMG! I nearly O'd when I read Surrender. Cole makes me hungry. How Tess ever evaded him was impressive, I couldn't do it. Where can I find Cole. I'd like to switch his playing with my hubby's. jk hon.
Lora Leigh is fantastic and her erotic novels are a cut above everyone else's. She gives her characters latitude to grow and develop. The love scenes are beautifully written and an experience not to be missed.
So I'm pretty sure I didn't care for the Fray book. Just wasn't my thing. Surrender had more of the classical Lora Leigh element that you either love or hate. The whole father knowing and giving permission was a little on the weird side. Boy is Tess every in denial.
I rated this just by what I feel after I finish read. One of some erotica titles that I read because "curiousity". Turn that I'm not really into BDSM stories
