This is my first read by this author and I really liked it. This book focuses on the characters, their getting to know each other, falling in love while also dealing with what life had dealt them. When the hero meets the heroine, he is lonely, sullen and had cut himself off from people. He had good reason to when he was accused of embezzlement at the firm he worked at and as a result lost a career he loved, friends, his fiancee, money defending himself and faith in humanity. H/h meet at a yard sale and the heroine helps him have more fun. Outwardly the heroine is a happy go-lucky person who works at a kite shop but she also has hidden pains due to her lost gymnastics career. The book was slow but I was really invested in the journey.
