Coopers' Companions #3

Almost Perfection

Rate this book
Brent Cooper loves his life. As one-third owner of Coopers' Companions, a successful male escort business, he has his pick of the most beautiful, sexiest women to take to bed. That's the way he likes it. He sees no reason to settle for a woman who isn't perfect.

He wants nothing to do with Robin Howell when he meets her. Robin's warmth and courage soon shatter his beliefs of physical perfection. He falls hard for her, despite his resolve never to become seriously involved with one woman.

His love and Robin's courage are put to the test when a man from her past comes back into their lives. Stuart Holden believes Robin belongs to him. He's killed in the past to keep her by his side. He won't hesitate to kill again.

(Although part of the Coopers' Companions series, it is not necessary to read the entire series to enjoy this book.)

I was born and raised in a small town in Texas close to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Writing has been in my blood since I was eight years old and wrote my first story for an English assignment. The baby of four children, I was spoiled rotten and still am.

I can't imagine ever writing anything but romances. I enjoy writing about two people (or sometimes more than two) falling in love. If you like the story enough to smile in places, shed a tear at times, or get a warm and fuzzy feeling, that is my greatest reward.

Besides writing at every opportunity, I love reading, traveling, scrapbooking, photography, and learning new things on the computer. I'm a software junky and like trying out new programs, especially anything to do with graphics.

I moved back to Texas after living on the West Coast for 21 years, to a small town 17 miles from where I grew up. I live close to my only surviving sister.

The only reason I gave this book 4 stars and not a 5 is because it was a short story. I really wished it would have been longer and it could have been. All and all I liked this story. It was a fast HOT easy read. This was the third book in the series and I look forwards to reading more.

I liked it, but I think mostly because I like this series. From the last book, it made it seem as if Brent might start a thing with Breanna, Jade's daughter, but no.

Then he's this prick who thinks Robin is ugly as soon as she shows a physical imperfection, which is fine if you progress the book naturally from there. But it literally goes from one page to him being repulsed to a couple of pages later to him thinking she's beautiful and making love to her. And there isn't even internal dialogue to make the sudden transition seem normal.

It wasn't my favorite compared to the first 2, but it was still a good read. If you like the series, this is still a good addition.

First things first. I did not like Brent. Mainly because he was full of himself and also how he initially responded to Robin when he discovers her scars. That was a piss-poor response. And he never redeemed himself with me throughout the book which made the reading experience less cos I don't think he deserved Robin!

The story also involved a mysterious ex from Robin's past and that was quite a twist to the story which I liked.

I would have given this book 2 stars but the sexy scenes were hot haha!

A good "oldie but goodie" I kind of forgot how big of a dick Brent was in the beginning but he slowly redeems himself.

Don't know if Ms. LaFleur has republished this series since Ellora's Cave folded.
