Good things come to those who dare. Lana Green is looking for a lover. At twenty-three, she’s more than ready to shed her shyness and shake up the status quo. Lucky her, the aloof bad boy she’s always wanted to shake it with, Brody Nash, is back in town. Too bad he barely knows she’s alive. Then an unexpected kiss makes her think her days of lusting from a distance are over. Despite the fact she’s no femme fatale and has zero clue how to seduce a man, she sets out to do exactly that. Brody hardly recognizes the alluring woman as the same gawky computer geek he left in Graceville six months ago. Lana has him spellbound, but his temporary stay in town is strictly business—running his friend’s restaurant while the man’s on his honeymoon. Brody doesn’t do relationships, and he doesn’t do permanent. But when he finds her asleep on his boat, he can’t keep his hands, or any other part of his anatomy, to himself. Things get complicated when he discovers what he thought was a casual sexual encounter has just cured her of the one thing she wanted to get rid of—her virginity.
I just reread this book. It has two really great characters. The h is someone I can really identify with, so real with insecurities I understand and I could feel all her emotions. The hero was a broken guy and took a bit to come around but he did. The sex scenes were very hot! Really hot! It is slightly angsty but you get so invested in their HEA that it works.
Underwhelming storytelling. Beta hero was zzzzzzz. Heroine was crass about being a virgin and her first time didn't even give her an orgasm....fitting since she was so crass about losing it. I didn't care if hero or heroine found hea with each other so bland were they
Another one I read a long time ago and recently stubbled upon.
I really enjoy this one by Sami Lee. Lana is a great heroine, she's sweet and funny, and she knows what she wants. And she wants Brody, at least in one main way.
If you read Chasing Sunset (Book One) you may not have a too favorable opinion of Brody, if so that is about to change. See, Brody lives his life free as the wind. He doesn't stay in one place too long and doesn't do relationships. And that life is tested when he sees Lana again when he's forced to stay and help his friend out while he is on his honeymoon.
I loved Brody and Lana's build up to a relationship. Lana doesn't become some clinger and Brody eventually starts to be the pursuer than the prey. The story is very hot but a lot more depth than the first in the series.
A good oldie from the vault. And it looks like Ms. Lee re-released it after Samhain Publishing went under. Score!
I really liked this one. The characters and the love story ... so good. I didn't love the lead in book, so I'm pretty surprised at how much I liked this book. I enjoyed the rocky romantic journey Lana and Brody took. I enjoyed watching them grow to love each other. I especially loved watching Brody's walls come crashing down. Not only with Lana, but also with his mother figure. I still got creeped out, however, thinking about what went down in the first book between Brody, Sidney, and Drew.
Just HAD to buy this book for Kindle after meeting Brody Nash in the previous freebie for Kindle, Chasing Sunset.
It was a good story. Lana, a young woman and waitress in the cafe where Brody works, has had a crush on him for years. She had a repressed childhood, with elderly parents who always expected her to do the right thing, and she always did. Now she is out on her own and wants to experience life in EVERY way. She goes out of her way to attract Brody's attention, and she does--but can she convince him to make it permanent?
Excellent read! I really enjoyed this story. Brody is a hot hot man! Forget about the sex, the relationship was very well written. Sami is really turning into one of my favourite authors.
