Growing up Southern has been an interesting experience for Jules, who discovered that labels for things like gender and sexuality are, at best, approximations. When not reading or playing video games or writing (or doing all three at once!) Jules is generally trying to convincingly pretend to be a responsible adult and at least do laundry once in a while. Oh, and show up for the evil day job and finish that pesky degree that's been languishing for a while now...

Neil Garfield and Simon Young have been together for three decades and are coming up on their anniversary. They met in a bar where Neil was playing blues and rock 'n' roll on an old electric guitar and Simon had been stood up by a blind date. When two thugs took offense to a gay man being in their bar and started a fight with Simon, Neil couldn't help but get involved when Simon was shoved into him. When Simon followed Neil home to make sure he was okay, it marked the beginning of a deep and wonderful relationship. Neil fell so deeply in love, he sold his fully rebuilt '46 Indian Chief motorcycle to help pay the bills will Simon got really sick three years into their relationship. Now the men are coming up on a special anniversary, and Neil has worked lots of overtime to earn the money for dinner and a hotel reservation to spoil his lover. But Simon has something special up his sleeve for his partner Neil.

This is a beautiful story of two men that are still crazy in love after thirty years together. I loved the glimpses into the life that they have created, and how open they are with one another. The flashbacks to how they met are sweet and touching. These two men are deeply in love and it shows throughout the entire story. The surprise Simon has for Neil was not really a surprise to me as a reader, but I still enjoyed Neil's reaction and the fun that follows. This is a sweetly romantic tale of lasting love that is touching and quite enjoyable to read. Another great story from an author who has quickly become one of my favorites.

It's a lovely snippet in the life of an established pair, who have lived together for 30 years. I always enjoy this kind of a story, a glimpse of "after the HEA". Knowing that they are still able to spark the fire after being together so many years. Another sweet one from Ms. Aedin (who slowly becomes one of my favorite authors in this genre)

Neil, a mechanic and Simon, a teacher have been together for 30 years. For their anniversary Simon manages to find an old motorcycle just like the one Neil had to sell years ago to pay Simon's medical bills. Some hot outdoor lovin' on a motorcycle ensues and they almost get caught by their teenage neighbor and Simon's student. A really sweet story about still being madly in love 30 years down the road. It's what we all hope for I guess.

Yet another lovely story from M. Jules Aedin. It's coming up to their 30th anniversary for Simon and Neil and they each have a surprise for the other. In Neil's reminiscing daydreams we learn the story of how they met and why he sold his Indian Chief motorcycle that he had lovingly rebuilt. I have to say I really love this writer's style and I'm looking forward to more stories and books. Touching, romantic, hot, beautiful - and all in these few concise pages.

Understated slice-of-life with very little in the way of plot or action. And I loved it. There’s very little I enjoy more in a romance than long-term couples just living their lives. Boring? Maybe. But oh so satisfying.
