Gordy is a walking disaster, or so he thinks. Clumsy, socially inept, and a lot tongue-tied around cute guys, he just doesn't get out much. Meeting people on the Internet is much easier, especially when it's someone like "Wheels", who's really fun to talk to.
Meeting Brian, aka Wheels, in person is a lot more intimidating at first, but Gordy soon sees past the wheelchair Brian is bound to and finds the most wonderful match, someone who really likes him, insecurities and all. With a good dose of heat and a lot of heartwarming fun, Gordy finds out through Brian that maybe he's not such a disaster after all. At least not when it comes to love.
Heat in real life is the bane of Vic’s life, whose favorite season is winter, and Vic’s life is far more mundane than fiction. And when it comes to fiction, the hotter the better is Vic’s motto. Make it romantic, make it sexy, make it erotic, but definitely make it hot.
Oh my gosh this was so cute and funny just adorable

Book rocks. It's sexy and funny with geeky nerd and funny as hell, I'm hot in a wheelchair Brian. And as he says the legs may not work but he still has a nice cock. I love the nerdy Gordy and Brian together just adorable. They really atre perfect together.
Even for a short story you feel their connection and there is a lot of sex for a short but it was good and sexy. :)
I read this on Gaa-chan's suggestion and I loved this book. I am beginning to want to smack Vic Winter for not writing longer books. I could live with this author's characters for days on end. Gordy is a computer geek who meets Wheels95 - Brian - online and after months of IMs and online games, they agree to meet. Brian says, "I'll be the one in the chair." As in wheelchair. This is a thought-provoking yet very hot, sweet story. You don't see too many disabled characters in stories and I loved that Brian wasn't all torn up and angtsy. Hit by a drunk driver, he has good reason to be, but his outlook is refreshing and endearing. I wanted more of the story and now crave fajitas and ice cream (if you read the book you'll get it). Thanks for that, Vic :)
I'd started skimming by 40%, with 42 mentions of 'wheels' over 30 pages as well as 'the chair', it was impossible to see the character for the hard-wear.
Despite it being a short story I found it a struggle to finish.
Very, very nice and sweet short. Geek meets wheelchair-bound internet buddy in person for the first time. Both have misgivings about being rejected by the other. Great friends-to-lovers story.
This short story was a fun romp between two online friends that meet for a real date. Brian is in a wheelchair which is a surprise to geeky but lovable Gordy. The characters were well fleshed out right down to their individual insecurities. Winter did a good job of portraying a man in a chair and kept things simple. I really enjoyed the easy, joking and sense of fun surrounding the two men.
Adorable story of two computer gamers who meet in real life. Brian is in a wheelchair, Gordy is a total klutz and self proclaimed geek. So cute. Gordys inner monologue is frequently immediately spoken and the man is just funny.
Only 30 pages long and a little PWP (and definitely NC-17, just so you know), but extremely cute and well-written.
The fact that one of the main characters is in a wheelchair is – imo – handled very sensitively and the author avoids that you’re kind of “hung up” on that fact (I actually forgot it a few times :).
I really liked it. I just wished it would’ve been longer.
Great little story. I wish I hadn't waited so long to read it. Both Brian and Gordy are online gaming players who've spent every night for eight months playing together. They've chatted online but have never met until Brian finally asks Gordy to meet him for dinner.
Just before he leaves the house, Gordy sees an email changing the location and stating that he'd know Brian because he's the one "on wheels". Despite his own misgivings about being a clumsy, nerdy, tall, skinny geek, Gordy decides to go and arrives at the restaurant late due to daydreaming. As he spots Brian, Gordy bumps into a busboy and literally falls into Brian's line of sight. That breaks the ice and the guys begin a lovely romance. The story is quite short but packs in a lot of loving and our geeks get a HEA.
Very nice recommendation for anyone looking for a sweet "feel good" story.
This was my first book by this author and I was pleased! This was a very short story about two guys who have been corresponding online for a number of months and finally take the plunge to meet in real life. The writing does such a great job of portraying Gordy's geeky, but totally lovable personality. I really enjoyed Brian's character too and thought the story and actions surrounding him being in a wheelchair were handled very nicely. I like books that embrace somewhat flawed characters and life challenges, and this one didn't disappoint! :)
I liked the reaction to finding out about the wheels - I think it was very realistic. All the wondering, questions, no pretense that it is nothing, just a simple detail. All that doesn't make you bad just normal.
Gordy is funny :D. Like one of the kind. One of the most awkward characters I ever encountered in a book. SO, he was a little over the top. While Brain wasn't revealed much, but it is understandable since it is a short story.
this story really warmed my heart. I enjoyed it so much. I would be cool if you took these two characters and made a full novel out of them. Maybe some background on how the two got to this point. LOVED IT!
I picked this because of the opening line in the blurb. Gordy was so like me, the walking disaster zone! I finished it thinking, what a wonderful story and what great people the main characters were. For such a short story there is a lot of depth.
Very cute and hot short story about two online friends who meet and become lovers. Although there is some initial misgiving, thing work out splendidly!
This is the type of book I think would be awesome as a full length novel. If there was more character building and background I would 5 star this book in a hot minute.
The blurb seems to sum up the whole story, so there doesn't seem to be much more to say. Other than that it was really sweet, and funny, and I enjoyed it.
Very short story about two Internet friends who decided to meet in real life. The narration was a bit tiring. I know it was an expression of Gordy's personality but still... tiring.
