He’s going to seduce her—in front of his friend and rival for her affections, Jay Baxter. But Jay’s not willing to lay down his cards. Hello, my name is Sans, and I'm a smutty book addict. I feel I can finally begin to confront my addiction, mainly due to the fact that, well...smut is getting...*whispers* boring. I know, I know, I'm shocked too. Not the fact that a large portion of my personal library is made up of erotica, but that I seem to have lost interest in it.

See, this book should have tickled all my happy buttons. There was a friends-to-lovers progression in the relationship and everyone knew each other for more than six months already. Two sexy dudes were after our heroine. She was freaking her shit out over the fact that she's involved in a threesome, trying to imagine how the relationship can last but not wanting to lose either of her guys. The guys didn't plan to seduce her at the same time, it was more of a competition to start out with - which will win his lady love?

Then there was the m/m aspect of the story. Oh, baby. One of the guys was terrified of getting into a sexual relationship with the other dude because his father beat him quite severely when he was young and had gotten caught kissing his best friend. The chick was terrified that the guys would rather be with each other and not include her anymore. Everyone was wondering how the hell their families were going to react.

And yet...*shrugs* I was more interested in the characters interactions out of bed (or off of the couch or living room floor or bathtub/shower) than I was titillated by the smutty goodness. The sex was well written with just a touch of cheese to lighten the mood. I can't blame the author for my not loving this book.

Have I grown up? Doubtful. Am I just bored with the sex in general? Probably, given the fact that this would have likely gotten at least four stars had I read it several months ago. I think the rest of my naughty books will just have to keep sitting on those shelves while I try to find a genre that will hold my interest for more than a book or two.

Going All In is the first book in the Three of a Kind series by Jess Dee. M/M/F is not my normal genre, but I thought I would give this a go. I am so glad I did. I was floored. I could not believe how erotic this book was. Wow! I literally was squirming in my seat from 10 pages in on.

Julia Savage, Hunter Miles and Jay Baxter have a standing poker game every Friday. These games are getting harder and harder for Julia to sit through. She has fallen in love with both guys and has no idea how she would ever pick one over the other to actually date. One night the flirting gets carried away and she ends up making out with both guys. This leaves her even more confused. Good girls don't do these things. She returns the next week convinced that she can bring things back to "normal" grounds. The guys, however have other plans. Getting caught up in the passion of the moment they all have an amazing, erotic night. This leads to questions of how do you go back to "normal" from such a wonderful experience? They all love each other and they all want each other. Do you give that up for what is socially acceptable?

Like I said, I was really blown away by this book. It was a very quick read, but that didn't stop it from carrying one heck of a punch.

I just loved this friends to lovers story, and seriously Jess Dee writes some of the best ménage books I've read. She is able to pack so much emotion and sexiness into such short stories that I am in awe of her talent. :)

Julia is torn between her intense feelings for both Hunter and Jay and doesn't want to choose between them or ruin their friendship. After their weekly poker game one night, Hunter surprises her with his decision to take their friendship to the next level... then Jay joins in too. I loved the intense chemistry between the three of them. Not only is this book jammed pack full of sexiness, but I also loved the realness to it too. They worry about how to tell their families when they realize that they want this for the long haul, and then our twist in the story brought up more issues for these three to resolve as well. Jess Dee really brings it with this powerful story, and she can definitely set the pages on fire with the heat these three generate!

Gah, I need to put a stop of this compulsion of reading every book that's in my Kindle. The good thing is, it was free and short.

Note: I'm not a fan of ménage stories, so that affected my enjoyment of this read. If you are a fan, don't let my rating steer you away from this book - especially if it's still free at Amazon. ;)

This was a very good story. I liked Julia, Hunter and Jay and how they came together. A hot read but with good emotional content as well. :)

Julia is a pharmaceutical rep in Sidney. She's smart and well balanced and seems to have it all together. Julia was raised a good girl and her family expects her to get married and have kids. Julia has no idea what she's supposed to do when realizes that she's fallen in love with 2 men and she can't figure out which one she loves more.

Jay is also a pharmaceutical rep in Sidney. He and Julia have known each other for about a year but Jay was involved with someone at the time. By the time he was free, Hunter had come in to the picture and Jay didn't make a move because of him.

Hunter is a product manager from another pharmaceutical company and part the poker club that Jay invites Julia to join. He also wants Julia but doesn't move in because of Jay. I liked both Hunter and Jay, they're good guys and both like Julia a lot.

The ice breaks on the careful detente that the trio has going a couple of weeks before Christmas when they're the only one's left at the poker game. Julia end up sharing a few kisses with both men but leaves after that and is unsure of herself, avoiding both men for the next week. She talks about her issues with her sister but it still comes back to the fact that she could never bring 2 men home to her family. When she gets to poker night the week before Christmas, she finds that it was cancelled (although she didn't get a message) and she ends up alone with Jay and Hunter. Jay and Hunter take the chance to get her in their arms again and once there, Julia can't think of getting out. After that night, the trio spends every night together and when Julia spends Christmas day with her family, she's torn because she can't stand the idea of losing Hunter and/or Jay but she doesn't know if she could get her family to accept it. Her sister does find out though and wants to meet Jay and Hunter, seeming willing to give them a chance so it doesn't seem impossible.

As Julia begins to realize she seriously wants something long-term including all 3 of them, she wonders how the men are feeling. They prove to be just as interesting in making their trio long term as she's thinking but they all take some time to explore things and don't share with the families yet. This ends up being a good thing as there are more relationship landmines to navigate, including the unexpected attraction that comes out between Hunter and Jay, and Hunter's subsequent freak out about it. Julia manages to talk Hunter down and with Jay and Julia's help, Hunter starts to come to terms with some things. They start bonding even closer as a trio and spend New Years eve together and have some explosive sex and some emotional bonding. In the end, Hunter, Jay and Julia agree to tell their families and work their relationship in to something permanent and they start their HEA.

This was very good. I really liked the characters and the story was really well done. It didn't seem as short as it was and I felt the sexual content was well balanced with the emotions as the trio came together. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up! :D

Well, wasn't this a hot little number? First, it kinda started right in on the sex. And sex with not one, but two guys! Two guys Julia had been in love with for a while -- one long term, the other not as long but just as smitten. But Julia always thought she'd have the traditional get-married-and-have-babies-with-ONE-man thing. What's a girl to do now? And then we find out that Hunter has some hidden issues he needs to work through. I had no idea this was a m/m/f when I started reading it. I have a bad habit of buying a book and setting it aside for a while, so it's almost always a surprise when I finally get around to reading stuff, lol! Great characters, super hot relationship, well done for the shorter novella format.

So, this e-book started out flimsy and had a bunch of holes and the end was a bit unsatisfying. The middle was more than I expected. Takes place in Australia (assumed based on language used in the writing), so maybe guys in Australia do talk like these guys, but to me, they sounded like what a girl would like to hear a guy say rather than dialogue that an actual guy would say. And some of the dialogue was so cheesy and predictable, it prompted an audible groan from me.

Overall, not a total waste of a few hours to read, but I wouldn't read it again. Glad it was a free e-book. I'd be mad if I spent money on it.

SUMMARY (50 words or less)

Jess Dee knows how to get my blood boiling. This was a hot set up for a sexy novella. Okay, their were a few convenient set up for a story, but you get what you pay for. And this book delivered there. I will be reading more from this author.

Wow this is my first ménage read. I decided to read this to kill some of my kindle freebie list. This was a good short story. The characters had realistic emotions when it came down to what they were doing and the future. Very steamy read.

I gave it a four star because there was more to the characters than just the sex. It was a short one and I still found t to be good. And since I got it as a freebie that made it better. I was tempted to do a three star, but I think that is mostly because I wanted to see where this would go.

For a short this one was good. What I really liked about it was how Julia thought about what starting a relationship with Hunter and Jay would mean in reality, was it just sex, was it going to be a one time thing, would the friendship survive, and what would everyone else think. I also really liked how both Jay and Julia were calm when things had the potential to change for the three of them. I really liked how things ended with them all.

The M/F/M scenes were good but then the second half of the story threw me. M/M/F? When the two men were into each other more than they were intrested in the female, the story lost me. I mean what do they need her for anymore?

As this was my first Jess Dee, I was impressed with the story. And it was my first MMF. Yes, lots of heat too! But the author made a good short story believable and was able to put some hot sex in it. Playing poker for some stakes makes for an interesting evening... and beyond.

This M/M/F menage book has a weird "gay panic" non-consensual sex act in the middle of the book that made me see red. One of the guys is given a blow job from the other man that he didn't consent to. Nobody but him seems to think it's a big deal and that he just needs to come to terms with being bisexual which he'd never indicated was. Supremely shitty.

This is a New Year's holiday and poker themed, erotic short story. (Re)reading this so closely behind Make Mine Midnight, another New Year's holiday themed, erotic short story, had me desperate for something that had more to it than a "female's wet dream". The reason I bumped this up half a star was because the author did seem to make an effort to give this short story more substance.

Julia is torn between her love for two men. She lusts and fantasizes about them both. Having been raised with the expectation of making a conventional marriage to one man, she never dreamed about having two men in her life concurrently. So, from the beginning, the reader is treated to her angst about how she can't simply choose one when she wants and loves both Jay and Hunter, her poker buddies.

I thought that the author rather painstakingly, but credibly, described the possible emotional turmoil one could experience when contemplating an unconventional relationship and of introducing one's family to more than one partner. This additional level of conflict, something that seemed real and possibly something many women could relate to, made this short story feel more than just a bunch of sex scenes.

I appreciated the fact that Julia had glasses. Not only that, these were glasses she really needed to see. It wasn't fake glasses that she takes off and then forgets she doesn't have them on but she can still see perfectly. I also appreciated the fact that Hunter and Jay sounded more like Hunter and Jay, and not like Hunter and Hunter or Jay and Jay (the way Make Mine Midnight did, where the men sounded alike).

It was interesting that the author chose to add another conflict to the story using Hunter's repressed sexuality. I found it an interesting way to show the reader (and Julia) I thought it was sweet how Julia and Jay patiently helped Hunter overcome his fears. However, in a way, it also felt a bit too much conflict for a short story. The whole scene where Hunter confessed his sorry past and was comforted by Jay and Julia felt contrived. It sounded more like a scene a woman would imagine than a scene that might happen. As another reviewer noted, the men "sounded like what a girl would like to hear a guy say rather than dialogue that an actual guy would say". I guess the above two sentences detailed what were my main problems with Make Mine Midnight and Going All In (Three of a Kind, #1).

Reread in order to write a review.

Jess Dee writes the most amazing menage stories ever! She packs so much into these stories, it’s unbelievable.

Julia has been one of the boys for the longest time. She plays poker on Friday nights with the poker gang. Hunter and Jay are two of the hottest guys in the poker club and she’s got the hots for both of them. How can she choose?

Finally, one night Hunter makes a move on Julia. When Jay sees that he tells Hunter to move over and he makes his move too. Julia panics and runs away. Hunter and Jay both chase her. Once they catch her, they don’t intend to let her go. But things get complicated. What happens when they introduce their relationship to their parents? What happens when Jay makes a move on Hunter? Will they survive the fall out?

Jess Dee packs a lot of emotion into such a short-story. We deal with telling families, realizing you’re attracted to not only girls, but boys too, dealing with past family issues, and oh yeah….being in a ménage!

In addition to a wonderfully emotional story, Jess Dee delivers in the hot sexy scene department. The interaction between the three of them is enough to set the sheets on fire! Or the couch, or the bathtub, or anywhere else, they end up!

I’m loving me some Jess Dee stories. I think I’ll add them all to my to read list!

So this is my first book of this kind of book. Menage/3 ways. I didn't think this would be something I would like reading but I am someone that will read just about anything at least once. I figure you should always try something different and what's the point of reading if you never push your own boundaries.

Well I was glad I pushed my own boundaries. I actually enjoyed the book. I think it could have been longer. Don't get me wrong the scenes were pretty great I just would have liked to read more of their background and interactions with one another. Get a feel of their relationship prior to diving right in. However it's a short book and I can't complain. I downloaded it for free on my nook. Once I read this one I figured I would buy the other 2 in the series and give them a go. It took me a while to read this since I thought it's not something I would enjoy, but I was wrong.

Even though there wasn't the background of getting to know the characters separately there were definitely some scenes in which you got a peak into some of the characters backgrounds. Some of what Hunter went through only makes you like him that much more. He has some stuff in his past to get over to truly be happy in this kind of relationship. Jay and Julia are just the 2 to help him move past it and open himself up to who he truly is and be happy with it.

Original review posted at Not Now...I'm Reading!

3 stars

While perusing the Kindle freebies over on Amazon, I came across Jess Dee’s short story Going All In. I’m not a die hard poker fan or player but the blurb caught my eye and I was interested in seeing how a story about poker buddies would play out. The focus of the story was more girl meets two hot guys through poker games. Girl falls head over heels in lust with both of them. Girl grabs the bull by the horns and acts out her fantasy of being with both and in the process they all fall in love rather than the actual poker. I, of course, didn’t mind one bit.

The main characters were pretty developed for a short story. Their chemistry was pretty evident and once things got going it got really hot, really fast. Of the two guys Hunter was definitely my favorite. Although Jay held his own he was a bit too cocky for my taste. I had a little trouble connecting with Julia at the beginning but, once she got over herself I found that I didn’t mind her. The only issue I had was how quickly the personal issue Hunter had was resolved. It seemed a tad bit rushed to me. Overall though, I found Going All in to be a fun, steamy read.

GOING ALL IN started off all nice and sweet and at a certain scene about halfway it tipped over and became this intense ménage story that had me completely in its thrall. Trust Ms. Dee to bring a story that manages to be original and different in a sea of ménage stories.

I missed the POVs of the guys and some things came a bit out if the blue but I blame the short length of the story for that because it left little room for extended build-up. Other than that I loved this poker-themed ménage story that once again (I'm used to it from Jess Dee) was as hot as it was emotional.

Fave Scene:
- when Julia "offers Hunter" to Jay and what happens afterwards > if you've read the book you'll know what I mean and if you know me and my reading preferences you'll be surprised that I loved this scene but I did!

Fave Quotes:
Hunter said nothing, but the look he gave her scorched her all the way through to her bones, setting fire to places Jay had yet to touch.

Hunter’s hoarse cry only increased her pleasure. It pounded through her groin, and washed over every nerve ending in her body. Even when her climax subsided, tiny streaks of pleasure still undulated through her, prolonging the sensation, extending the ecstasy.

This was a freebie I downloaded back in December that kept getting pushed to the back of the TBR pile. The other day I decided that it was time to dive in and give this bad boy a try. Wow. Hot threesome action and poker games. Sweet. While the sex was hot and everything, the story got a boost when it delved into the past of one of the characters and had him deal with his repressed sexuality.

All in all, this was a quick, sexy read (I wouldn't have minded it being a bit longer) with a bit of heart behind it. There wasn't a ton of character development but, let's face it, that's not really why I was reading it in the first place. To recap: cards, sex, sex, sadness, happiness, sex. Pretty much in that order.

VERY nice menage from Jess Dee! Very cute! All the poker references were really pretty neat and for a short story, there was quite a bit of character development and history in the book! I was very pleasantly surprised! And of course, it was nice and steamy, believable since she had known these guys for a while, and what I really, really liked was the fact that this was the first threesome for all of them (not another one of these WE SHARE WOMEN AND THAT'S WHAT WE'VE ALWAYS DONE storylines that quite honestly are getting rather repetitive) and the latent bisexuality of the guys was explained. Very, very nicely done!

How is it that most hardcore menage that I read have male bisexual and usually they haven't discovered that they are swinging also for their same sex. Is it really impossible to have a threesome where they just want to share the woman? I have read some but mostly it really is a bisexual situation.
I didn't ever thought that Jay and Blondie might be interested with each other. The only indication was when they were at the bathroom, when Jay and Blondie touched and there was a singed. Electiricity. That only means sexual attraction. The ending was fine but not expected. I wish more drama and the ending was...blah blah blah. Fine.

A romance about a threesome I would have probably thought twice to pick it up had it not been for Barnes & Noble's free nook books for which I have found most of my reading. And boy am I glad I did. Who wouldn't love being pursued by two guys who refuse to give you up? Granted this book is the best case scenario where everyone is pretty much okay with the situation but it is still a great read. Also I just noticed it is part of a series so I will have to look into the other ones. Happy reading!

I got this as a free Kindle book.

This book was a short story really. I read it all the way through and felt like I didn't get the whole story. It could have been fleshed out a little more (no pun intended) to make the characters more three dimensional. The sex was hot and that's never a bad thing. I wish there'd been more story around the sex. There are snippets of information thrown in here and there, but not enough to make me want to like the characters more than superficially.

i should really read reviews before downloading books. i didn't realize this was all about a three-some, a very graphic three-some. i think there were some good attempts to deal with social acceptance of alternative life-styles that didn't go anywhere. the dealing with issues of male-male relationships was well developed, and the three-some wasn't, so i was disappointed by what the plot could've done.
