In Rootbound, Funny Feelings, and in The Co-op, we get to see pieces of these characters' pasts, along with glimpses of their futures. This is a book about their Christmas presents; each taking place the year following "The End."
In Idaho, Tait and Henry make a last minute change of plans for the holiday, and scramble to get into the spirit. In LA, Meyer and Farley watch Hazel perform in the Nutcracker, and reflect on some of the meaning behind one of the season's traditions. Over in Santa Cruz, Deacon and LaRynn are finally slowing down after a year of new beginnings.
These small stories were written as a humble thank you to everyone who has supported these books in the last year, and who has fallen in love with these characters as much as I have. I hope your holidays are all filled with reflection on the past, hope for the future, and most of all; joy for the present.
“LaRynn,” he coos into my neck. “You really don’t know how crazy you still make me, do you?”
“I wanted you to know that I see you, too,” I say. “That I’ll always see you, or at least keep finding you. Even when a kid comes around. Finding you over and over again is going to be my favorite part of life, Deacon.”
“I also think it just feels like magic when someone understands you, when someone sees you and speaks your language, literally and figuratively.”
my comfort characters always 🫂❤️🩹
TARAH DEWITT I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR BLESSING MY DAY
This put the biggest smile on my face. It was the most perfect Christmas gift. I loved getting to check in with my favorite characters. Thank you Tarah for writing this. 🥹💛
the tarah dewitt literary universe is my happy place and i want no one to speak to me while I take 8-10 business days to process getting to see my sweet, sweet, adult children happy & h*rny at christmas like they deserve
Quick thoughts review: A sweet way to reconnect with some of my very favourite romance characters! A little bit of spice and no conflict make this novella so easy to escape into!
So good being back with all these characters for the holidays 🫶🏾 I just love them and Tarah’s writing! Short & sweet and a wholesome catch up.
“And I hope, without crossing over into creepy territory, this might give some insight as to just how much I want you. I’m boarding an obsession, here.” -Deacon
Tarah’s characters are some of my favourites that I’ve met this year, and this novella was such a gift. A sweet (and just a bit spicy!) way to check in on these three incredible couples as they celebrate the holiday.
Surprise Christmas novellas are my favourite trend of 2022.
I haven’t read any of her other books, but this cutie Christmas novella looked too cute to pass up! It was the perfect mix of sweet and steamy packed into only a few short pages! I have The Co-Op on my shelf, but definitely plan on reading her books this year!
Oh how I love anything Tarah DeWitt writes. I just had the most beautiful evening sipping gin and hanging out with characters from three of my favourite books of the year. It brought me so much joy. I can’t wait to see what delightful stories Tarah creates in 2023. She is a true wizard at what she does. Five bright stars.
The sweetest little novella 🥹 this was such a wonderful Christmas surprise. I could read about all of Tarah’s characters for thousands of pages (especially Meyer and Fee🫶🏼). Loved this so much and highly recommend if you have read her books!
Three stand-alone chapters that bring us up to speed with Tara Dewitt’s characters from Rootbound, Funny Feelings, and The Co-Op. It’s sweet and very much in the Christmas Spirit… Basically, a very extended epilogue, which wasn’t at all necessary as I didn’t feel all that connected to any of these couples but it’s still sweet.
I love all of her books so much so reading this christmas novella of all of her characters just happy and living life is so heartwarming. I would read literally anything tarah dewitt writes. I was so happy to be able to revisit some of my favorite characters ever. love this and them so much.
This was the best feel-good Christmas novella. Absolutely loved seeing all of my favorite characters celebrating in their own way. I love these worlds that Tarah has crafted so much.
The perfect opportunity to check in with the couples from Tarah’s three books and see where they are now. Super light read, zero conflict and a bit of steam!!! The holiday charm was perfect.
That took 20 minutes. It’s just as the description says, a revisit of the characters from Dewitt’s three books. I’ve only read Rootbound and Funny Feelings, so I skipped the section on the third book I haven’t read, or it would have taken 30 minutes.
this is EXACTLY what i want out of a christmas novella. i loved spending more time with these characters that i love so dearly. maybe this shouldn’t be surprising but i found myself crying during some of the stories bc these characters know and love their partner so well and i love seeing them happy 🥹 i will be reading this again next christmas!
Winter feel-good novellas about your favourite couples just feel like a cup of warm cocoa. ☕
PART TWO - Funny Feelings chapter Though I haven't rated Funny Feelings 5 stars, I still very much enjoyed the original book. This short Christmas story brought out all the feelings again. Meyer's story about Hazel's Santa's visit didn't leave my eyes dry. Actually, it was adorable all around.
PART THREE - Co-op chapter Co-op was an incredibly originally written and thought-out book. You could feel the atmosphere seeping through the pages while reading. This chapter pulled the rug under my feet, I adored every word. Pregnant LaRynn, some sought-out steam, and the family love, all just wonderous.
5 stars ✨
