Paige - lawyer, abandoned by father, mother died, foster homes, loves Ben, fired from her job, lives with Sebastion, her vampire father (but thinks he is her normal half brother), current owner of Club Underground, where her father/brother is manager & needed an investor, but she took on more than she bargained for.

Ben - cardiologist, raised in foster homes, loves Paige, healer to the vampires, was the first to heal a vampire, Sebastion, who had been staked, he must hide his knowledge of vampires, he is on call to the vampires, and his fear of abandoment and not being able to share secrets kept an emotional distance with Paige...

Four years ago Paige was pregnant, and lost their baby - she blamed herself, Ben thought she blamed him - they never talked. She divorced him... but they 'hooked' up regularly over these 4 years, playing out 'stranger' fantasies - neither able to deny the other or their passion for one another...

and the Club Underground... Sebastion's ex lover wants him & Paige dead - with Piage threatened, Ben & Sebastion try to protect her... Sebastion is staked again, Paige figures out the truth (Ben doesn't try too hard to hide it this time)... Ben is turned by a fanatic, yet romantic vampire so that he will stay around to help them... and that same vampire turns Paige (either that or kill her) - and the two will live happily ever after...

Now Ben must be a superstud, in less than four days Paige had no less than 24 orgasms - personally I am thinking I would be sore but more power to her. I can only imagine that with vamp blood in him it can only get better. What I didn't like about this book is that I felt like it started in the middle of a story I knew nothing about, and though it resolved it wasn't a comfortable way to start. Paige also had a bit too much TSTL going on to be interesting. But the sex was hot so if you like it like that you will enjoy this.

I can honestly say the best part of this book was the last chapter.
I did not like most of it and had to re read several pages to try and figure out what exactly happened in certain scenes. Some parts of the storyline were rather rushed and a few things were explained away with a only a sentence or two. I think this story could have been fleshed out a bit more and I'm not talking about the sex scenes. I'm not a prude in any sense but those scenes were almost laughable and I started to roll my eyes when I got to one.

I thought that this concept was good, but I really felt like shaking a few characters in the book. this is supposed to be part of a series - the Secret Vampire Society - so I hope that the other books in it are better than this one is.
