Her books have received rave reviews for the romance, the character’s depth, the intrigue and the turmoil they have.
She lives in New Orleans, Louisiana with her loving husband and candy-sweet daughter. Before she started writing Regency romance, Ella was working in a call center, despite the fact that she majored in English Literature. Daughter of a Duke, Lady Charlotte Magdale seeks thrills to invigorate her otherwise boring, sheltered existence. Stephen Huntington, heir to the Marquess of Hertford, is anything but a thrill seeker; in fact, he doesn’t like any kind of change. Charlotte is friends with Emma Lawrence, now Huntington, who is married to Stephen’s younger brother Martin. Emma is also known secretly as The Love Lady, as she gives advice to the lovelorn.
As it were, Charlotte and Stephen run into each other at his gentleman’s club, and even though she is in disguise, her recognizes her immediately. She then asks him, “What do gentlemen really want?,” and his immediate reaction is to kiss her, but because he is a gentleman and she is the daughter of a duke, he steps back and she leaves in a huff but not without her parchment entitled “Twenty things to do before you turn twenty-four.”
Ella Edon once again offers readers an introduction so tantalizing that we cannot begin to see where it all will end, although we not so secretly hope it is with HEA. But Charlotte and Stephen both have secrets so deep and dark that there may not be any future for them. Thus the plot pivots and introduces mysteries that need to be solved before the couple can find happiness. I highly recommend His Lady of Seduction to readers who appreciate a strong, fast-paced, well-written story with many layers, including steamy romance, and a surprise ending. This book can be read as a standalone but is better paired with the first book in this series, Marked by Her Marquess, because many of the characters play roles in both storylines.
This story was not one that I could really relate to or hold my attention. Lady Charlotte (Charity) Magdale is the daughter of the Duke of Devonshire and almost twenty-four years old. She seems so spoiled and her emotions and feelings are all over the chart. Lord Stephen Huntington, the son of the Marquess of Herford, has a secret that once Charity learns it, it can damage or destroy their relationship entirely. There is a villain in this story. If you pay very close attention early in the story, you will be able to figure out who it is very quickly. A childhood friend of Charity's, Christian Balfour turns up for a little while in the story. However near the end, he just disappears from the story without any reason. For me, there were too many parts and people in this story that did not merge well together. There are some "steamy" parts in this story too.
Lady Charity a bit of a dare devil - her mother an brother both died at the age of 24 years - coming to that age herself soon she believes she is either cursed or will have the same illness and die at 24. (BELIEVING THIS SHE CREATES A LIST OF THINGS TO DO BEFORE SHE DIES). 1. STEAL SOME JEWELLERY SELL IT GIVE MONEY TO THE POOR.
LORD STEPHEN WALKING DOWN THE STREET AT NIGHT HEARD A NOISE LOOKS UP A D A YOUNG LADY FALLS INTO HIS ARMS. (He recognises her as a Dukes daughter and sister to his best friend who died).
LET THE GAMES BEGIN - LOTS OF ACTION SOME NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES - HE FINDS OUT SOME TRUTHS.
I ENJOYED THIS AND THE CHARACTERS - I received an ARC copy
Stephan catches Charity following her jump from one of the windows at her father the Duke’s home. She believes that she will die by her next birthday as her mother and brother both died at twenty-four. She has also developed a bucket list for herself that she is attempting to complete before her passing. This is part of the reason she jumped out the window. Stephan’s family is trying to marry him to the daughter of anther Duke although he is only the son of a Marquess. He and Charity develop feelings for each other and he refuses the planned marriage. There is mystery, steamy romance and some very enjoyable characters. Thanks to the author and publisher for an ARC for an honest review.
Stephen always had a guilt about his best friend dying. It turns out that the woman Stephen fell for was his best friend William’s sister, Charity. She thought she was cursed. She thought she was dying. Stephen loved her so much, and Charity loved him also. But his guilt and her curse were in the way. Read to see if and what happened in the story.
