readathon17 book 31: a poetry book
I am really not a poetry person. I don't think poetry is for reading a whole book in a day, you should take it slow, read one poem at a time. But that is not my style at all. Depends I guess on the poems, because my first try was Bukowski and I absolutely loved it.
Anyway, I will say objectively the book deserves 4 stars even if I had to struggle.
And also:
ειναι τα ματια μου διαφανες αυλαίες
οταν τανοιγω βλεπω εμπρος μου ο,τι κι αν τυχει
οταν τα κλεινω βλέπω εμπρος μου ο,τι ποθω
I recognized this verse immediately, probably I remember it since high school, so definitely the book worths many stars.
I remember I liked Embirikos then, because we did analysis on the poems.
I should really search for poetry books that also include analysis, that way I would enjoy more.
