Since she married Christopher, Fiona believes she is the luckiest woman alive. She adores her husband, with whom she has a wonderful daughter, Holly, but her entire life falls apart when she finds out he is having an affair with a younger woman from work. Her husband immediately ends his affair, and he is ready to do everything for Fiona to forgive him because he sincerely loves her. For Fiona, it's not easy to give up on everything she has built with Christopher in the past eleven years, but she feels betrayed, broken, and like her husband stabbed her with a sharp knife in the back. Now she faces the biggest dilemma of her to forgive her husband for his infidelity or not to forgive him.
Couldn’t finish it. English is definitely not this author’s first language, I’m all for indie authors because there are so many new and talented writers who write very good books, sadly there are a few that are thrown out there just because. The poor language matched a plot that could have been angsty but wasn’t. The heroine married the hero, a much older man who divorced his first wife because he cheated on her. Not the best premises. Of course he cheats again, with younger women, and swear it was the only one time, which would honestly be more than enough for the heroine to divorce his sorry ass, but she won’t. And no, that nasty woman the heroine found out about was not the only one, but one of the many. It turns out he’s been cheating on her since forever, and the heroine still won’t divorce him. Of course she has trouble believing he won’t cheat any longer, even if he’s in his 50s, which makes him a sleazy aging pig. I quit and I don’t care what happens to this couple.
The FMC finds out her husband has been cheating on her. Comes to find out it wasn’t the only time but he only admits to one other time, while the FMC estimates it was probably dozens or more during their entire marriage.
The book has a couple of issues. The writing has errors from what I believe to be a translation issue. Either this story was in another language originally or English is not the author’s first language.
The other issue is it’s only in the FMC’s pov. A couple of random sentences feel like they are from the MMC’s pov but you’re never really sure.
And the last but more important issue, and the one that all the reviewers seem to hate, is the lack of an HEA. This is an older style ending where it’s left up to the reader’s imagination as to what the future holds for the FMC.
What happens is the FMC struggles with still loving her husband but she can’t trust him to be faithful. She wants to stay with him but she just can’t get over his cheating and she absolutely believes that he will cheat again. I agree that he will cheat again because none of the characters actually get any help with their issues. The MMC never gets professional help for what I assume is a s€x addiction and the FMC slowly becomes his st@lker. Always spying on him over the years. Only mildly but very unhealthy for her.
So a few years go by with neither of them really letting go of each other and in the last couple of paragraphs the author introduces OM neighbor that the FMC has, who has shown dedicated interest in her. But the story ends with no actual choice.
Like I said, it’s left up to the reader to imagine what the FMC would do after the close of the book. It sort of leaves you with a sad hopeless feeling. Because the FMC never really stops loving her now ex husband. But she might choose to be with someone else just not to stay alone forever.
Anyway, it wasn’t a bad story. Just one sided and a left up to you kind of ending. Good luck.
I normally don't post anything negative here... But this author commented under one of my review posts on IG (and yes, even though it wasn't the official author post, I'm pretty sure the person who commented and the author are the same person) that I should read this book... It was a REVIEW post about ANOTHER author. Yes, both books are romance books, but that's the only similarity. I didn't ask for any recommendation in my post, and I generally didn't have any questions it it. So this behavior is absolutely NOOOO NOOOO!!!
And honestly, "international bestselling novel"??? This book has 200 ratings and a rating of less than 3⭐, this book is everything but a "international bestselling novel"!
This is an author I definitely put on my DO NOT READ list!
This could have been a great story, but the author dragged it so much. There isn’t much to the story once you cut out all the unnecessary details. It could be resumed in a paragraph. Adding to the fact that there is no ending then it just becomes pointless. Like literally you will just waste time reading this because all you’re getting out of it a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction. And as many others have stated, the fact that English must not be the author’s first language, is glaringly obvious, and not in a good way.
Very mixed feelings about the H. At first he was scum with commitment issues who cheated on the h twice during their marriage. He was an excellent father and the grovel over 3 years did much to redeem him for me. The h was hard to predict. She loved their family, knew of the affair for 3 months and essentially buried her head and hoped he would come to his senses. She then leaves but remains close with the H through their daughter, ultimately agrees to share their former home for the daughter without a relationship with the h. He continues to become the husband he should have been and even wins over her friends after surviving their hate. Her parents were slower to come around.
She ultimately moved to a new house with the daughter who maintained daily contact with her father. Upon meeting a neighbor, she decided that only her could determine her future. It was inferred that she had choices (H or neighbor) and I felt she believed the H had redeemed himself for a second chance.
There was no plot to this. The FMC was cheated on, which you could see a mile away, but it was hard to feel sorry for her. I don’t even know what the point of the book was. And there were so many cliches and overused situations. What was the point of the entire “friendship” with Rachel and Pixie? Were they friends? What was the point of the weekend in Spain? None of the characters were even likable. Holly seemed like a spoiled brat. She was used to getting whatever she wanted, and she played her parents like a fiddle! There were incidents described that had no bearing on the story. She goes to the house and sees two pieces of mail for her and puts them in her pocket. We never hear about them again. Though she later mentions that Christopher has lots of unopened mail in the foyer. She gains weight when she discovers the betrayal, and then it’s harder to lose it - really? Riveting!
I liked how the story played out, Fiona wasn’t a doormat. Christopher tried to win her back and accepted his mistake. They both worked together for their daughter. The story left you without her making any decisions- yes they divorced but we’re still very much a part of each others life. The out of the blue come neighbor who was in a similar situation- so then the decision is does she date the neighbor? The end !
Pretty disappointed in this one. The only reason I did not DNF this book was that someone recommended this in my comments section, and I wanted to give it a full chance, AND I thought surely there was going to be some kind of twist or something to make it worth reading. No, that never happened. I wouldn't say it was bad enough for a one-star, but close. The writing is tough to get through. There were entire chapters that read as if they were dialogue in a script with almost no descriptions in between. Ugh.
Holly will grow up to be a monster. Fiona is a doormat when it cones to her daughter. Christopher walks all over Fiona, pushing her constantly. Fiona needs to learn to say no to family, friends, her daughter, and her ex.
But, whoo boy, is Holly an entitled little brat. The girl needs boundaries and discipline.
This book was boring with no substance. Very repetitive and blah. The main character, Fiona, struggles with trying to forgive her husband from cheating on her. That is it. The struggles of the decision. And it wasn’t written well. It needed a proofreader and some language adjustments. Glad it was short or it would have been a DNF for me.
Beyond some errors in grammar this book was alright. I'm undecided if I liked the "ending" or not. The story dragged on in places but I can see why as it is a more realistic work.
Hated the last paragraph. Only an idiot forgives a husband who cheated - not once but twice He also cheated on his first wife!! Whether the mistress had a history of having affairs and threatening to make trouble, he decided to have an affair with her
Long drawn out story about a well established man cheating on his wife with a coworker, and how she never forgives him but he tries to win her back with gifts, vacations, a home and everything she could ever want. The grammar is AWFUL in this book.

absolutely terrible! English definitely isn’t the writer first language, would’ve been much better if they had written it in their native then gotten a translator. The only thing I liked about this book was the fact that there was no HEA. Other than that very bad writing
OMG this is 1 of the worst books I have ever read.... and I flipping paid for it. Please please please do not waste your time or money on this. That'll teach me for not reading any reviews!!
I did like the book. The storyline was great. I feel like it was a translated version. Sometimes it did not make since. But all in all it was good read.
Cheating = H was cheating...like the whole relationship. h knew about it at the minimum subconsciously, but played ostrich, burying her head in the sand, until she could not do it any longer.
h eventually takes back H. Will he ever change?? *shoulder shrug*
