Nyx Ciar is half-human and half-Drow. She and her good friend, Olivia are in business together. They are private investigators for paranormal crimes.

Dmitri Karl Beketov leader of he werewolf pack needs Nyx’s help. Someone or something is attacking and killing the werewolves. Already six werewolves have been mutilated.

Nyx calls on some of the best trackers that includes Dopplers, Shifters, Were, and Fae. Nyx finds some extra help in the form of Detective Adam Boyd. Things between Adam and Nyx are about to get hotter but they better watch their backs as the killer is out for blood.

No Werewolves Allowed is book two in the Night Tracker series. I have not read book one but I didn’t affect me from enjoying this book. Though, I did like this book so much that I plan to go back and read book one.

Urban fans will really like this series. It is dark and edgy. Nyx and Adam sizzled together. I liked Nyx’s character as a Drow. It was refreshing to have one of the main characters something different other then vampires and werewolves. This book may be titled No Werewolves Allowed but they are allowed in my home and on my bookshelf. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into book three, Vampires Not Invited.

Guess I'm only reading this because I haven't got anything else. The lead character and the plot are just lacking for me. The romantic interest bores me but I've read worse. Nyx seems too young and naive for her job and her whole life experiences just don't gel.
If Drow don't come to earth how did her mother meet her father. If her society really is so repressive towards females how do they tolerate a human, non-submissive Queen or a half breed princess. I know it's only paranormal fantasy but it's just lacking something real for me to connect with.
And her human lover. Well he's got great abs and a fantastic rear but can he meld with shadows or control the elements, it's all a bit unequal.
Her best friend annoys me. How can you be so mouthy when everyone else is faster and fiercer than you.
The character's that I liked from the first book don't make an appearance, I actually skipped through the sex scene because I wasn't interested, and the plot was laughable.
Maybe I should give this book just one star.
Will I read the next one..... maybe. It may get better.

I liked this book better than the first book in the series, although that's not saying much.

The Good: The characters were less cardboard cut-outs and more developed. The ubiquitous name-brand-dropping that was so irritating in the first book is also, thankfully, gone.

The Bad: The book was fairly predictable. Also - and the big stumbling block for me - was that the villain(s) did one incredibly inept and stupid thing that allowed the good guys to find them. The good guys finding them happened fairly early on in the story, so the rest of the story essentially happened because of the TSTL moment.

i still think this series would be much more interesting if Olivia was the main character instead of Nyx. Nyx drives me nuts with her stupid actions and acting like a 13yr old girl over adam.
i loved the new characters in this book - angel was awesome.
i love Olivia's shirts, like always - I find them highly very amusing.

not sure if i'll read the next book but i'll put it on my reading list just in case.

Proving the reason I always give a series two books, No Werewolves Allowed really surprised me. The annoying designer clothing name dropping was gone. The characters were more interesting and the plot line was definitely better.

Nyx didn't focus so much on the "I'm a Princess" thing as she did in the first book, which annoyed me almost as much as the designer crap, she actually did her job as a Night Tracker. Even the secondary characters were painted in full vibrant color in this one and didn't feel like window dressing. Each one has their own past that was hinted at. There were also some great one-liners.

There was one sex scene in the book that felt out of place. Oh it was well written and definitely hot, but the timing felt off to me.

So if you decide to give the series a chance, definitely give it the two book chance.

I'd prefer to give it 3.5 stars but that's not an option.

I felt like I was in a car wreck while reading this story. It jumped around so much between characters and events that I never got involved with any of them. I found I did not care about one character in the book. I was relieved to finish it, knowing I'd never have to read it again. Not for me at all.

I picked up Cheyenne McCray’s night tracker novel, No Werewolves Allowed without knowing it was the second book in the series. Even without reading the first book, I was able to jump into her world and enjoy the interactions between her characters. The back of the book bills it as a romance between Nyx and Adam. It is the standard “she gets the first paragraph and he gets the second paragraph with a leading question at the end” blurb. Poor Adam is only in a couple of chapters as the body call! The book could have been written without him, however, I am grateful for his steamy scenes. Phew!
In the first few chapters, I thought the romance was to happen between hot alpha-werewolf Beketov and spunky Olivia. I loved these two characters, but they were plot movers who were left in the dust once the danger amped up. Had their relationship taken center stage, Adam could have been a footnote since he wasn’t involved in the plot at all. Besides Nyx, a large cast of characters floats in and out of the plot, leaving me wanting more about each one. Had I received complex character development on each one, the book would have been thousands of pages. In addition to dozens of named werewolves, we get introduced to Angel, Ice, and Joshua as trackers. I hope the author goes more in-depth on these characters in the next book. I liked all three of them more than Nyx.
The bad guys were typical elitist scientists found in most paranormal romance or paranormal suspense. What made them stand out were their gadgets. As soon as we learned about a paranorm’s special skill, we learned about the scientist’s countermeasures. For not knowing about paranorms other than weres, the scientists had the remedies to defeat anyone sent after them. Some scientists have all the luck.
Overall, this is a fast-paced urban fantasy with steamy scene bookends. I liked the multitude of fight scenes and the supporting cast. I hope we get more Olivia and Beketov in the next book but I think the series is done with werewolves.

What A Ride

I was gifted Demons Not Included and now I cannot get enough of The Nightracker Series! Nyx and Olivia are great characters! I love that this series is dominated by strong women. Angel proves that you cannot judge appearances. She's a badass! The men are really interesting as well. I really appreciate how each character is deeper than one would imagine. The relationship growing between Adam and Nyx is more than sex and I really appreciate that. The way the trackers work as a team in spite of their differences is refreshing as well.

I didn’t dislike Nyx as much as I did in the first book. Thankfully the name brand dropping died off some but there’s still a lot of comparison insecurities made and obsession with Adam distracting her from her job. The other characters in the book are finally being fleshed out some.

The sex scenes are steamy but the second scene was irritating because it was in the middle of a super serious part of the book where lives are still at stake. But hey it’s cool to disappear for a few hours right ?

This novel was much better than the last one. It certainly knows how to catch your eye, and then keep you hooked into it. Which is probably due entirely to the fact that the werewolves had more detail to them then the demons did. And this only seemed to enhance this novel even more. It added more volume to the plot, and expanded on the characters themselves. Making this novel seem more interesting by every chapter that was read.

Nyx and her team are still reeling from the death of their fellow Nighttrackers. It's a loss that pains them to their core. But their empty spots must be filled and the Great Guardian has for once delivered. Because for once the Nighttrackers are on someone's good side. Especially, when they receive five new trackers to replace their lost three. Something that they've been asking for a long time now. But even when there's good news, bad news always seems to follow. And this time it's packing quite the punch. Because when the local Alpha of the werewolf pack shows up asking for help, it's to inform Nyx and her partner that three of their cubs are missing. Which is every parent's worst nightmare come to life. And it's really hitting the Alpha pretty hard, because one of the cubs was his own son. So once Nyx hears this information both her and Olivia agree to take the case. Along with a few other Nighttrackers as well. However, something isn't quite right about this case. They can't seem to scent anything at the kidnapping sites. Which is very bizarre for a paranormal. It's almost as if someone took the liberty of washing their own scent away. Something that should be physically impossible, and yet is actually happening. Leaving Nyx and Olivia to believe that things are worse than they originally thought. Which is only proven when both Nyx and Angel are kidnapped themselves. And by humans too! However, these humans have something very diabolical in mind. Something that could take care of all the paranormals for good. But not if Nyx has anything to do about it.

This novel would be classified as an adult urban fantasy novel. And not a very good one at that. It was supposed to be some type of romance novel, but the plot was all wrong for that. The characters were just as wrong too. Which wasn't good for this novel at all. It just had this vibe that puts the reader in the wrong kind of mood. It's like it tries to romance you, but then sucker punches you in the face with supernatural villainous. Which puts it all over the charts. Although, the main character does show some promise. However, Cheyenne McCray really needs to expand her horizons a bit more. So when it all comes down to my final recommendation I'd have to say that it's not a very good one. Because there are definitely better paranormal romance novels to read. And if you actually look hard enough you'll bypass the series entirely.

Cheyenne McCray's No Werewolves Allowed pretty much picks up where Demons Not Included ended, where Nyx is about to take on a case from the Werewolf alpha to help him find missing members of his pack. One a pregnant woman and two young children. After a rocky start, Nyx is determined to find them, but as her boss tells her, she can't do this alone and brings in help, help that she isn't too thrilled about.

In come the newbies, new characters that is that are paranorms. Including a Shadow Shifter, a Doppler, and a Shifter. These three were quite interesting characters and they were surprising as well. Ice, the Shifter, is the annoying sort, Joshua, the Shadow Shifter is a mysterious sort, and Angel the Doppler is one fierce female who is not meant to be trifled with by any means necessary. She can kick serious butt when she has to.

Nyx, the three newbies and Nyx's partner, Olivia head out into the woods to help the Werewolves with their missing persons case and find themselves with quite a bit of trouble, for they don't really know who the enemy is until they meet the enemy. The enemy is a surprise somewhat, but the character type isn't, I've seen it before in other books and yet the manner of the character type is always different in levels of degree. I liked the way McCray dealt with this issue. I don't want to say what it is, it's not really spoilery, but I don't want to take any chances.

The action was well paced as well yet again and I loved it from beginning to end. Just when you're wondering when a clue or something will come about, BAM! The action takes off and does not stop for anyone! Nyx finds herself deeper into all kinds of trouble and her life and the lives of others are on the line and if she makes one wrong move, someone may die.

Amidst all the action there is still time for romance. That being said I won't go any further because of the cliffhanger from Demons Not Included, I don't want to spoil anything yet again, but there is definitely romance involved and it totally rocked!

Overall it was a fabulous read! And I guess because we know the title of book 4, Zombies Sold Separately, it makes it all the fun when Nyx keeps saying how much she hates zombies. Really looking forward to that one! But until then, next we have Vampires Not Invited which promises to be good, because there's vampires! Evil ones most likely, but still gotta love the vamp! That one releases November 30, 2010 so it's slowly making its way around the corner for the holidays!

Overall I give the book 5/5 stars! An excellent read and one I highly recommend!

Original review done for The Romance Reviews.

Nyx is back and she's better than before. We've got some new Trackers, blooming love, and a whole new type of baddie that's gonna rock the paranorm world...For Nyx, it's all in a day's work.

Nyx is the half-human, half-Dark Elf princess who lives in New York City. By day, she's in human form and works as a paranormal private investigator. By night, she's in her Dark Elf form and is a Tracker, a paranorm who protects the world from other paranorms that would put both the human and paranormal worlds at risk.

In this installment of the series, Nyx is set with the task of helping figure out who is kidnapping and torturing werewolves from their camp in the Catskill Mountains. Several Weres have been taken and none have been found alive. Now, whoever it is has started stealing pups. There are no leads and nothing to go on except that whoever it is dangerous. She thought that battling Underworld demons was hard, but as she's soon going to find out, demons aren't the only thing to be afraid of in this world.

This is the second book of the Night Tracker Series, and I loved it. It was fast-paced from the beginning. The storyline for this novel was set up in the first one, and it takes place right after the first one ends. There are a lot of new characters introduced in this book. We've got some new trackers with interesting abilities and the Werewolves, especially the Alpha, who plays a large role as well. Also, Adam, the New York City Detective who is a love interest for Nyx comes back, and we see what is going to happen next in their failed attempt at being together in the last book. He's such a great guy that I couldn't help but want them to be together. There is a ton of action and fighting in this book, and it was great. I loved it because it wasn't just about Nyx; it was about the whole team, and we got to learn about other abilities.

The dialogue and interactions between Nyx and the secondary characters were hilarious, especially between her and Olivia, her partner. Olivia is a definite favorite of mine. I really look forward to what she's going to do or say next. It was a big plus for me that we got a lot more character development in this book. It made them more three-dimensional, and lead to more overall enjoyment of the story. Everything leads up to a big showdown, and we hold our breath trying to see if Nyx and her team can get to the Were pups in time.

So, what do you get when you combine action, romance, great dialogue, and wonderful characters? A fantastic read, and that's "No Werewolves Allowed".

Spectacular! Half human, half dark elf, Nyx Ciar is human by day while she is a paranormal investigator and a blue-haired, purple-skinned elf by night where she works as a Night Tracker. In this installment, she gets a client through her PI agency and the case transfers to the Night Trackers. Alpha werewolf Dimitri Beketov brings the case of his missing and/or murdered weres to her attention and Nyx brings the information to Rodan, her Night Tracker boss who gets a whole team together to investigate. Her team consists of Ice, a wolf-shifter, Angel, a squirrel shifter, Joshua, a shadow shifter and Olivia DeSantos, human and her PI partner. Off they go to the Catskills mountains to hunt for the missing weres.

Dr. Johnson, a human scientist who is God's assassin of paranorms is kidnapping and experimenting on weres to find a way to exterminate the entire race of paranorms. He is crazy as a loon and sadistic as hell. All hell breaks loose, when he kidnaps Nyx and Olivia.

I really liked the way the different paranormals work together to defend each other from humans. The Night Trackers are just one part of the equation. There are also Peacekeepers, Gatekeepers, Soothsayers and Healers. And somehow they all work together towards a common goal...well usually with a lot of snark and fighting. But hey with all these alphas working together, it really is amazing that they can get anything done.

Favorite Quote:
"What's your master plan, Blue?"
"The master plan is make sure you end up one of the missing once we get there."

Nix Ciar is back and has a whole new set of troubles. Even though she lost her human lover before he even became her lover, she is still a night tracker and duty prevails. When several of the New York City's werewolves go missing, it's up the Nix and Clare to travel to the great outdoors to see who's been knocking on the big bad wolves door...and why.

In No Werewolves Allowed Nix Ciar and Oliva DeSantos are back. PI's for the paranorms during the day and Night trackers at night, they fight crime all the while trading barbs and quips. When the NYC wolf alpha Dimetri Beketov comes to them with a case of dead and missing werewolves they cannot refuse. Rodan sends them out with Ice and two new trackers, Angel and Joshua, to the werewolves camp to help find answers. But Nix and the other paranorms are at a loss. They can't smell or see any clues. It's as if the wolves just disappeared out of thin air. When Nix and Angel get caught, they soon find out who is behind the dead and missing wolves and the answers are shocking.

I don't know what it is about this series that clicks with me. On the surface it's a typical tough chick solving crimes and hunting down bad guys. The main character has an attitude, kicks butt, and looks good. That isn't enough for me. If it was, every urban fantasy out there would get four stars. It's not necessarily the characters either, because the banter between the main character, Nyx, and her friend Olivia is a bit annoying, and Nyx isn't that multidimensional. That leaves the plot. We are introduced to the killers in the beginning of No Werewolves Allowed, so there isn't much mystery there, yet I was interested in every step of the investigation. All in all not much happens in this book, some Trackers go try to figure out who is killing werewolves and they figure it out. I wish I could pinpoint exactly why I like this series, but it's hard to describe. The action sequences are not overly long and boring. The paranormal beings are interesting and well described, and Nyx's abilities are unique and exciting. Another plus, no love triangle! Hopefully, there is some character development in future installments, as No Werewolves Allowed is entirely plot centered. I can't wait to read the next book, and other books by this author, but others may not be as blown away by this book as I was.

This is one of those series that flies under the radar and I don't think it gets as much attention as it should. This is the second book in the Night Tracker series.

Night Trackers are those paranormals who police all the paranormals. They hunt down the rogues and keep order in the paranormal world. Nyx is half drow, half human. Which means she is part dark elf and she turns amethysist with blue hair and gains her elemental magic at night. So Nyx is in her PI office when an alpha werewolf comes in. His people are turning up missing and are found tortured and dead. As the full moon approaches, the pack cannot leave until it's missing pups are found. This endangers the human and paranormal population because when the were's shift on a full moon they have no idea what they are doing and could potentially harm others. So Nyx and some of her fellow Night trackers are determined to help the pack especially when they find out it's children that are missing.

It's been awhile since I read the first book, so it took me a little while to get back into the story. I would have read this one sooner but my library didn't have it. I think this is a solid series so far that should get some more recognition. So people, go out and read this series and tell more people about it!

This re-read is not going well. I forgot about the appalling lack of editing in this series. The worst one? As the author is recapping events from the previous book, she got one of her own character names wrong. I'm going to assume you've read the first book, if not, look away. Caprice was the only female Night Tracker killed by demons. In this book, she became Natalie. That's just sad.

Also, the gratuitous sex was so ill timed. I'm all for romance, but not at the expense of the story. It's hard to be a professional PI when missing children aren't as important as getting laid. Oh, going to search for clues in the mountains? Hang on a sec, my boyfriend came over and we're getting it on. Oh, the kids are in the city with a mad man planning on killing them? We'll leave after I'm rested and all sexed up. Stupid. Insincere. Unconvincing.

And Nyx is still an annoying twit! Her descriptions of herself are ridiculous: "My firm breasts, my flat belly." She's like an overly confident robot, perfect at everything. Except following orders. She's almost gotten killed in both books because she couldn't follow the rules. No one goes out alone? Must not apply to Nyx, oops! Guess no one calls you out for being an idiot when you're a beautiful princess.

AWESOME !!!

Semuanya dapet.. Heroine kick ass, romance juga.. hmmm bikin nahan napas :D, tegangnya apalagi, kereeen lah pokoknya..

This the second book in the Night Tracker series, was full of action, romance, and frightening situations filled with cruelty and torture.
I really enjoyed the plot for this book and how we are learning more about the paranorms with ever passing novel. Nyx is still the main focus of this book and I was fine with that I like her characters no nonsense attitude and kick ass solutions to her problems. We find out in this book if she is able to fix how her relationship with Adam ended in the first book. We are privy to more information about Nyx's abilities, and we learn about some of the other trackers abilities as well. This story was a little hard to swallow at times only because it's about werewolves who are being abducted and some of the abducted were's are children. Reading about anything horrible happening to children difficult and I usually try to steer clear of stories where children are abused. Besides the children being involved it was a great story. Fast paced action, steamy romance, and a lot of awesome fight scenes. I think anyone who likes paranormal romance would get sucked into this story and not give up until it was done. If you haven't read any of this author's books I highly recommend you check her out.

Heh. Just like that everything is ok? Hummm. Ok I guess. (You'll understand if you've read past chapter 5)

Anyway, I like the book and how the characters are developing. It's frustrating that Nyx isn't as badass as the 1st book made her seem. I guess her vulnerability adds to the "Realness" of the story. I like Angel here. She seems pretty badass for me. For some reason she surpassed Nyx's "badassness". Ice is also an interesting character. :) And the Shadow shifter seems really interesting. ;) I wonder of Olivia and Ice end up together. Hummm.

So anyway, this book takes place 2 weeks after the 1st book. If you read the 1st book you know what the case is all about. What's interesting for me is the introduction of the new trackers. :) Yay!

I wonder if I'll like the 3rd book... I'm not as excited as when I finished the 1st book. So, I think I'll read something else first before I hunt for the 3rd. Good news is that it's not a cliff hanger. :P

I enjoyed this book. It's a nice piece of paranormal fluff.

I didn't read the first book so I was slightly confused over some stuff that may have happened in the first book but I'm not entirely sure.

The book made me DESPISE the people I wasn't suppose to like. Which is different for me. And good. Because usually I'm on the "meh" side of the fence when it comes to villains especially in paranormal types of books.Though mostly it's because I DESPISE people who are like them in real life too. So seeing them as villainous in a book doesn't endear them to me at all. Which is different since I usually like rooting for the bad guys. I'll probably on and off read the rest of the series as I come across what I can get (since the library seems to not have the first book but the rest of the series).

The characters come across as real and fleshed out characters. Which is nice because a LOT of paranormal books have the problem of not having a lot of fleshed out characters.

Nyx Ciar is back with her PI partner, Olivia DeSantos. This time they are tracking who is abducting and killing members of a local Were pack. The pack is headed by completely alpha, Dmitri Beketov, whose son has been kidnapped as well. Rodan adds new trackers, Angel and Joshua to the mix, along with Ice, a veteran tracker. And let's not forget Nyx's hot, NYC detective/lover, Adam. Yes, the do get back together! The story was just okay. Don't get me wrong, I am totally loving this series. However, the whole turn with the villain, Dr Johnson, being exposed as a fanatical, racist, psychopath, just didn't do it for me. I'm so looking forward to the next in the series: Vampires Not Invited. Though this book was not my favorite, this series has made me a huge fan of Cheyenne McCray's.

No Werewolves Allowed is the second book in Ms McCray's Night Tracker series. Nyx, a half human, half Drow who just happens to be a Drow Princess, and her partner a former NYC SWAT team member Olivia are asked to investigate werewolves disappearing, and not returning. Pack Alpha Dimitri Beketov's son, is one of the missing children. Nyx and Olivia are joined by 3 other Trackers, Ice, Jason, and Angela, who I definitely enjoyed. Angela's story line was probably a better one to read than the missing childrens. Of course, Adam shows back up in Nyx's life, and things go Kapowie in the sack, and other places. The last third of this book was the most entertaining, with the first part being borrrrrrriinnnnngggg...sorry

I was surprised at how fast I read this book. It wasn't what I was expecting.
I always enjoy Cheyenne McCray's writing and this one was no different. Nyx is a very strong character and I liked the interactions between all the main characters. It was kinda a twist on the normal stories that I have been reading lately with the main bad guys wanting to get rid of the paranorms on the planet. It moved along really fast, you weren't bored, I think if I had one complaint was that it almost moved to fast. I know that sounds crazy but you're just getting to the meat of the story and them your into the action and it's over. I'm not saying it's bad it's just I think that I would have liked it to have been pushed out just a little longer.

Nyx Ciar, drow and centerpiece of this paranormal PI/action series loves her break from life as a Princess of the Dark Elves and the finer things of life, comes to grips with her relationship with human detective Adam Boyd, helps unravel a plot regarding the mysterious disappearance of Were’s in the area within a tight deadline and shows off her skills as a leader and a warrior this time out.

I thought the villain was sufficiently diabolical with vile enough henchmen and the plot itself quite intriguing and mysterious – what fell flat for me was the wordy exposition – it seemed to be too much. After getting beyond this annoyance I was pleased to be rewarded with a gem of a solid second outing for the Night Tracker series.

Another great addition to this series! Nyx is back on the job in this one, this time helping werewolf Dmitri Beketov after members of his pack and family are being kidnapped and killed. Someone is targeting Paranorms and now Nyx and her partner Olivia must join forces with her fellow Night Trackers to investigate these mysterious kidnappings while trying to survive themselves! Filled with action, humor and hot passion, No Werewolves Allowed delivers! McCray does a McCray does a wonderful job of integrating a mix of supernatural creatures with a solid story!

A fanatic human named Johnson tries to eradicate all of the non-humans that he has discovered exist in his world. He starts capturing, torturing and murdering members of a werewolf clan who hire paranormal investigators Drow Nyx Ciar and human Olivia Desantos to retrieve the surviving missing members of the clan but they themselves get entangled in Johnson's eradication efforts. The disparate combination of fascinating non-humans work together to try to eliminate the horrendous threat to their well-being.
