I purchased a lifetime digital subscription from Amar Chitra Katha in August 2024. Their support team explicitly confirmed in writing that it was a lifetime plan. However, the system still showed an expiry date after one year, and in 2025 my access was simply cut off with the message ‘subscription expired.’

Despite multiple attempts over more than a year, I received no response from the company. The timing is especially concerning: the access was terminated only after Visa’s 13-month protection window ended, making it impossible to dispute the charge normally.

The company gave assurances that the subscription would automatically renew each year (because the app could not show lifetime access), but this never occurred. Instead, the service was discontinued without communication or remedy.

A digital publisher promising lifetime access should not behave this way. Prospective buyers should be aware that in my case the product delivered did not match what was advertised or confirmed in writing, and there was no meaningful customer support afterwards.

An entity selling books on ''Gods & Mythology'' can stoop Low to such malpractices, is beyond words' description.

I read "Vichitrapareeksha" (Malayalam) വിചിത്ര പരീക്ഷ, book in this series. Which teaches about how wisely we need to solve the issues in the path of life.
Amar Chitra Katha books were the one which made childhood filled with excitement. Imagination. And taught sweetness of waiting for next book. Balarama and Poombatta Amar Chitra Kathas are still favourite.

A long-running Indian comic series that retells stories from mythology, history, and folklore in a format aimed at younger readers. Each issue covers a specific story, from the Ramāyanā and Mahābhārata to biographies of kings, saints, and poets, told with clear narration and bright, easy-to-follow artwork. Some depictions may feel dated or simplified, but the series remains culturally significant for its role in preserving and popularising Indian heritage in comic form.
