First Kisses #6

Love at First Click

Rate this book
I could no longer deny what the heat in my cheeks meant when I was around Flynn. I was falling for my sister's boyfriend.

There's just something about Flynn. Yes, he's a tall, unbelievably gorgeous, dark-haired football player, but . . . he's also sweet and nice and super easy to talk to. It's lucky I'm the photographer for the school paper, because my camera likes Flynn almost as much as I do. Unfortunately for me, so does my sister, and there's no way I can nab Flynn with her in the picture.

But could this be the real thing?

I didn't have time to write much about this book after reading it, but today it just popped into my mind and I had to get done with it.

So.. I have this rule (I'm not a 'rule person' but this is really important, believe me) don't try to steal your best friend's boyfriend (or your sister's in this case) EVER.
Yeah, I mean it.. even if it hurts, even if it kills you.. and it won't.

It's just so wrong on so many levels..
And think about it this way too: if someone leaves his girlfriend for you, what are the odds that he won't/will do the same to you the first chance he gets?
100% will, trust me. (and no, I haven't tested my theory, but I still think it's true)
__

Now about the book.

This is the only book about 'stealing boyfriend' that I liked and only because of the resolution and because is nicely written.. and no, I won't spoil it for you, just make all those scenarios in your mind or read it, because it is a nice book anyways.

To keep it short, this book it's sweet and I read it in no time. If you like cute romances then you will like it too ;)) There were some good funny moments, and some nice romantic ones. The characters seem real enough (even though I have some doubts about some of them) and the story is really pleasant.

4.5 stars because I just love cute romances ;p

I love this book, I've read it several times. It's a very fun teen-romance, and for me it's very entertaining. It has an ice cream powers on me; has never disappointed to cheer me up when I needed something nice ;)

Hayley is a school paper photographer who cover all school activities including sport. She loves everything about it and always feels comfortable behind the camera, especially when she could freely catch pictures of Flynn, her long time secret crush. She considers herself as a plain, shy girl and the opposite of her beautiful and popular sister, Breeze. So when Breeze decides to date Flynn and then he starts to notice her, the comfort world she's been into turns upside down.

Hayley is a very dedicated journalist and passionate photographer. She's cool teen, easily likeable and too mature and wise on her age. It's pretty amazing watching every actions and activities through a photographer's view. The excitement of a football games, the spiky jump of cheerleaders actions, the golden moment of school parties, etc. I love the way it was written so I can see Hayley's actions and viewpoints behind her camera.

Flynn Delancy Is a gorgeous football player who always focus on his game. Hayley and her camera loved to take pictures of his fine figures until she realized she had caught him too many. He's a pretty nice guy although being a typical popular jock always dated popular girlfriend he'd never noticed Hayley until recently.
I love the way they 'click' together, like a real soulmates.
There's also Jared Wright, another popular jock and Breeze's ex-boyfriend. His fun and easy going character made the story even more entertaining (oh Jared....). So when he asks Hayley on date, the story starts to become interesting.
As for Breeze, she's kind of a little selfish girl who always knows her power on boys, so I don't really want to discuss her further and just notes her as a complement object here.

I always loved reading Elizabeth Chandler's books. All her books I've read so far are about jocks, and I always likes her heroin characters which is the main reason I loved her books. It always make me satisfied and got a big smile at the end of the story.

Cortito y bonito (:

Honestly, I didn't like this book very much. It reeked of rookie mistakes, like telling your characters' appearance and outfit on the first page instead of focusing on characterization. Nothing stands out about the protagonist. She's just the typical slightly feisty slightly shy girl. Flynn(the love interest) was nothing special, either. Nor Gabriel. What did I expect, though, picking up a book with such a title and summary?

I usually don't read this kind of book, but I sort of just broke the mold today. This book didn't break any molds. There wasn't even a decent love triangle in it -- unless you count the thing with Flynn dating her sister. And I don't, because I couldn't have cared less.

The protagonist's interactions with Flynn were boring. I didn't really care about Gabe(the best friend) that much, either. It was established in the first five pages by the narrator blandly that they had no romantic interest in each other and would never have. There isn't a problem with this, but if you have a boring love interest you can at least give some good moments with the best friend.

I don't hate this book, but I suppose I was too bored out of my mind to feel anything for it.

The book is actually called 'Love at First Click'. I can't find it on goodreads and my copy has a totally different cover too, but oh well. Also my copy has 185 numbered pages. The summary is the same tho, so I guess it's the same story haha.

This is a typical teen romance read. It's kind of predictable, but it's sweet, like really sweet ^^.

I read this book in less than 3 hours, so it was an easy and very enjoyable read. Couldn't stop thinking about the book after I read it.

This book made my stomach flutter with butterlies, so I really felt this book, and I love it when a book does that. I'm such a sucker for teen romance haha.

These books are a nice read between other books, so I'm glad I bought it and I'm sure I'll read it again some time.

So if you're looking for a nice, light read to read 'in-between' books, this is definitely it!

Love at First Click is an unbelievably adorable story. I really loved it.

At times, Love at First Click can be somewhat clichéd and predictable but that just made the story more cute and enjoyable. The plot and characterization was great. The dialogue between the characters felt so real and genuine, I couldn’t help but smile. The book had its humorous moments, I found myself grinning from ear to ear.

Hayley was a lovely protagonist. I can relate to her a lot. She’s a photographer for her school’s paper; mainly the sports section. She’s honest and down to earth with a passion for photography. She’s aware of her sister’s beauty and charms but completely unaware of her own. She’s pretty much the opposite of her popular sister.

Flynn is the love interest in the story. Other than his passion for football, he’s not exactly your typical jock. He’s a sweet guy who, unfortunately, has never noticed Hayley until meeting her sister. Oh, did I say meeting? I meant dating.

I’ve never been a fan of love-squares but Chandler made it work! As chemistry develops, Hayley can’t help but wonder if Flynn feels the same way…

Overall, Love at First Click was a heart-warming read. If you are looking for a light and romantic read, you should definitely give this book a try.

I LOVE this one <3

It is so cute and sweet and really fun to read.

It's not really a "stealing boyfriend" book as I was led to believe..
It's about the dating game.. we all either once witnessed or been actively involved with..

I love that I liked all the characters in it.. however wrong or right they were and wether their actions were justified or not..

Hayley is just so lovable.. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't love her.. she's obviously hot.. but not so many ppl realize this because of her perfect popular sister.. which is fine by her.. because she's not infront-the-camera person, more like the one operating it.. a good thing too, since this way she can focus her lense on Flynn without anyone really realizing what thsi really means ;)

Flynn isn't too good to be true =D.. no one who willingly share in such a scam with his friend -no matter the reason or the good intentions- can be called too good to be true.. having said that.. he's really more than good enough =D.. I love his relation with his family.. I love his character and the scenes he's in..

And surprisingly for a light flick.. the one had some quotes that manages to stick in like "Sometimes storms outside are the only relief for storms inside...”.. how true is that!!!

Decided I should up this one to 5 stars since I've read it more than 5 times

Love At First Click is about Hayley Caldwell, a photographer for her high school newspaper. While snapping her many photos of the football team Hayley develops a "click crush" as she calls it, which is an affection for the subject of your photos. "Love At First Click" is about Hayley's "click crush" on Flynn, one of the team's star players.

As Hayley gets to know Flynn, she realizes he is really a great guy. Flynn is not only handsome and athletic, he is sweet, funny, and easy to talk to. The problem? Flynn has become Hayley's older sister Breeze's new boyfriend. Breeze is not only Hayley's older sister, but she's beautiful and a total guy magnet, which is the complete opposite of Hayley, atleast in her own eyes. Does Flynn think so?

This was a really sweet story. It's a quick young-adult read. The characters are well developed and overall, the story is very easy to relate to. I think most teen girls or young woman can see a little of themselves in Hayley at some point in their life, especially when it comes to dating. Hayley is beautiful, inside and out, sweet, incredibly honest and has an innocence about her that you can't help but love.

Honestly, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Yes, it's a fluffy read for late preteen/early teenage girls, but there were several strong points of it that I admire.
First, Hayley is a strong main character. She's not popular or anything like that, but she's extremely honest, level headed, and is a hard worker. In most romance novels geared for the preteenish crowd it's rare to come by a character who is so down to earth and real. Most the time they're ridiculously silly, but not Hayley.
I also really enjoyed the strong bond between Hayley and her sister, Breeze. Yes, they get into some arguments, but what sisters don't? At the end of the day they're both there for each other, love each other, and protect one another. That's what matters most.
If you're looking for a light read to get done in just a couple of hours, I'd definitely give this book a shot. I think it's worth your time.

An amazing book by Elizabeth Chandler. I had read Dark Secrets by the same author and was amazed at how Love At Fist Click was totally different from it. The book had a very simple yet sweet plot. Though it was a bit predictable, it was fast paced and refreshing with adorable and realistic characters.

The book was a bit too thin and I was over with it even before I realized it. It had a really cute ending but I wished there was more to it. I wanted to read more of what happened between Flynn and Hayley.

It was a perfect summer read. Easy, happy and enjoyable !!! ^__^

I love Elizabeth Chandler books! The woman knows how to write a cute story filled with fun, love, and super adorable guys!

Flynn Delancy has been added to my list of crush worthy Chandler boys! This is a quick, light read with maybe the most adorable babysitting night on record! :D

My only complaint is that I wanted more! More details! More background! More, more, more! :D

I highly recommend this story if you are in need of a quick smile and a little romance!

Really enjoyed it. I wish there had been more time spent on Hayley and Flynn but it was just supposed to be a short simple read nothing too complicated as far delving into relationships. Still a bit disappointed with how long it took to resolve things because by then there wasn't time for a relationship just a resolution. Oh well, this is a great summer read by the pool. :)

*SPOILER ALERT*

Love at First Click is a sweet teenage romance novel about a school photographer who has an overactive sister and a football jock who plays too many games.

This book is a read in one sit and is very easy reading though enjoyable as it gets and keeps your attention till the end. I wouldn't say you can't put the book down but if you do you'll be thinking about it until you pick it up and start reading again.

I found the plot very fast paced (for those of you who hate fillers, this is a book for you) but it didn't feel like there was anything missing and all my questions ended up being answered. This pleased me no end as I don't like open ends.

The story will make you laugh as well hold your breath (maybe cringe a little, but thats okay right?). The dialogues are genuine and the characters realistic and well developed making them seem like real people living real lives. I honestly could imagine this playing out in real life.

The heroin, Hayley, is a photographer for her school newspaper and is very passionate about her work. She is the plain girl who is always there but not necessarily noticed as she likes viewing the world though her camera lens. She has a kind heart and is honest which sets her above the rest making her (at least to me) extraordinary. For her whole life Hayley has been in the shadow of her beautiful sister Breeze but has never minded, until Flynn. Her seeming plainness makes her highly relatable and I could understand her feelings making her very likable.

Hayley's "camera crush", Flynn, is star player on the schools football team though he suffers a injury in the first game. He is the sweet jock with two adorable little sisters and a loving heart, to make matters worse he also has a pair of gorgeous gray eyes. His deal with his best friend leads him to find that Breeze, his best friend's ex, has a litter sister.

The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it is not one of the books I can gush and fan girl over (though through no fault of the author) but I did enjoy it and would recommend it if teen romance is your genre.

The ending. Of THIS BOOK. Is just....just... AHHHH. TOO. SHORT. i mean, I was waiting this entire book for Flynn to admit that he liked Hayley. And it was literally THE LAST PAGE OF THE BOOK. excuse me, but that conclusion was LESS than NONEXISTENT . I mean, realllllyyy. The first 80 pages were practically pointless. Then it started to get better. (i.e. : Flynn and Hayley 💜) but then, But thennnn. That conclusion. Right there. AND I KNEW. there were only a few chapters left and they hadn’t gotten together. I was hoping the book would play out like this:

1. Breeze is dating Flynn, the popular, gorgeous and otherwise assumably cocky and heartless player who all the popular girls liked and all the unpopular girls despise.

2. Hayley and Flynn interact for the first time, with Hayley despising him and Flynn not even knowing Hayley existed in the first place.

3. Hayley starts to see how sweet and kind Flynn is. They fall for each other.

4. That admit their feelings and date secretly, but both do not want to hurt Breeze, so Flynn doesn’t break up with her.

5. Breeze finds out about Flynn and Hayley.

6. They all fight.

7. They all make up.

8. They all live happily ever after (particularly Flynn and Hayley.)

However, this is NOT how the book started, continued, or ended! Not that it was bad necessarily, just.... not.... conclusive? This book is short enough to the point where I would still recommend it. But. Be warned of this deadly “conclusion”.

Readers discretion advised there are major spoilers!

So I glad that Hayley didn't really "steal" her sister's(Breeze) boyfriend even though she's something else. Flynn was just helping out Jared with Breeze they had a plan for Flynn to distract her but then Flynn fell for Hayley. Then Breeze thought she really liked Flynn and Jared really liked Hayley but once Jared showed interest in Hayley Breeze didn't like that and she wanted Jared. After all she at the beginning she was using Flynn to make Jared jealous and Jared was using Hayley to make Breeze jealous. Honestly I think Jared and Breeze's relationship is dumb because he was so ready to be with Hayley until he told her what was really going on and she dumped salad on both Jared and Flynn... but whatever. I only really cared for Hayley and Flynn and of course they really liked each other and it work out in the end (and Jared and Breeze got back together).

Not bad, but at moments , because you have not read the whole thing, some characters become....not annoying. But not very likable.

The main dude turns out to be a sweetheart, yet the attitudes through most of the book, make you think...really, isnt there a chance for Gabriel ?
But then, you get glimpses of his true self and Flynn becomes likable, until he is not again.

The nain character is vety sweet and funny, you are happy for her at the end, yet you dont understand how can she like so much the dude, when he is so confusing.
So , yes it was fun, but I did not love it !

And just like that, another one drops in my binge collection.
This one will be remembered for making me realize the value of detailing when writing a book. This makes even a shorter read feel that much deeper and more personal to the ones reading. Women like Ms.Chandler bring so much value to the writing world, and the world in general. They have magnificent minds that make us wonder.

Read the book within a day's time. To be honest I was enjoying the story line, but I think it's very superficial. I wasn't able to get a good image of the characters. And the ending, although maybe it was intended to be exciting, left me kind of "okay?". I did enjoy reading it during this COVID-19 lockdown, but wouldn't read it again.

This is your typical chick-lit, nothing much to say but cute and fun, I like Elizabeth Chandler's romantic comedies, and I can relate to her character, and it's not the overly needy dramatic girl stirring things up and causing more trouble than she can handle when the relationship can be straightforward, so all in all no problems, a fresh quick read

I like the romance aspect of the story and the fact that the plot line is so complicated. The phrase "Don't judge a book by its cover" really applies to this book because it is a amazing book, it just doesn't have the best title or cover.
