I needed a fluffy read after finishing a post apocalyptic heavy story.

This was surprisingly good! Initially I thought I picked wrong because I felt like I was reading a Kathrine Heigl movie with all the blunders and embarrassment but when we got to the meat and bones, it got pretty entertaining.

I really haven’t been a big fan of dirty talking but when Ava accidentally calls Liam Daddy 🤩 that turned hot fast and I was sold.

Obviously a HEA and predictable ending but I liked that Liam threw us for a loop at one point. I enjoy light angst and this hit the spot!

I’m looking for more of these quick daddy age gap romances with higher heat. Send any recommendations my way.

2.5⭐️

This one was hard to rate. It was a fluffy slightly forbidden age gap romance but I found I was skimming a little bit. Seemed like it could of been shorten by 50 pages and it wouldn’t have changed the story much. It was an ok read though and probably a great starter into age gap forbidden romances with a slight daddy kink 😉.

POV: Dual, 1st person.
SERIES or STANDALONE: Standalone.
TROPES: M/F adult, age gap, forbidden fathers best friend, surprise pregnancy, small town romance.
SIZE: 234 (last page) Kindle pages.
CHARACTERS: Liam (42), & Ava (24).

PLOT: 📚📚📚/5
ROMANCE: ❤️❤️❤️❤️/5
SPICE/STEAM: 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 (daddy kink)
DARKNESS/TRIGGERS: N/A

⚠️ My bookshelves can contain spoilers.

“Doctor Everything” is for those who love the pregnancy trope, and I know not everybody does. Ava has a one-night stand with an older guy only to find out later that it’s not only her dad’s best friend but the new town’s doctor. And to make things messier, she’s pregnant and doesn’t know how to tell Liam.

Ava keeps her pregnancy on the down low for a while until she can’t, but she and Liam keep their relationship under wraps. The story is good, with the “d4dd¥” talk and “good girl” interspersed. Liam is very attentive once he finds out, though I didn’t like the way he initially reacted. Overall, I enjoyed the story.

Liam and Ava’s hot and steamy taboo romance is a delicious and captivating read. Liam is a very sexy doctor almost twenty years older than Ava, but their passionate one night stand proves that age doesn’t matter when it comes to achemistry and attraction. Neither expected to see each other again, but all too soon they discover they both have a link to one person who matters to both of them. When Liam meets his best friend’s daughter, his all grown up and beautiful daughter who also happens to be his passionate one night stand bedmate, Liam knows he has a potential mess on his hands. Ava is stunned to find out that the very sexy grey fox from the most memorable night of her life is her father’s best friend and the new doctor in town. They both promise themselves to stay away from each other and never mention anything to her dad, but that was before Ava knew she would have an everlasting reminder of their time together. Keeping secrets is not her forte, and hiding her attraction, her feelings and her pregnancy are overwhelming. She has no idea that Liam can’t get her out of his mind either, that the concern he feels for her goes beyond that of a doctor. One thing is for sure, their combustible chemistry makes it impossible to resist each other, taboo or not. Something’s got to give, the secret can’t stay hidden forever, after all.

Dr. Liam Cooper just moved back to the slower pace of his small hometown of Hannibal. He grew tired of the fast-paced stressful New York clinic he worked at and came home to slow down and open his own clinic.
One night he does something he rarely does, he hooks up with a beautiful lady even though she is much younger than him. She started it! Ava was enjoying a beer with her BFF when a gorgeous older guy sits down at the bar. Ava thinks hitting on him will be the one life-changing event she’ll always remember…AND…he is just WOW! The hookup doesn’t start off well. Liam is a complete jerk but later he apologizes then they hook up for one night. A few weeks later Ava starts not feeling herself and finds she is expecting a baby! What the heck?
Ava is very close to Thomas her Dad and enjoys their shared Sunday dinners until today. They’ll have a special guest too; a close friend of her dad, actually his BFF from childhood…AND…surprise…in walks Liam! Liam and Ava try fighting their feeling for weeks to no avail and finally give in while hiding their relationship from her dad. But when her dad finds out he freaks out. All ends well though.
Can I say these two idiots never used any protection, never even mentioned it AND he’s a Doctor…really? I loved Liam, Ava, and Thomas as well as the small-town setting. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and am happy to leave my opinion. Linda

A decent read.

Everything was fine, I found the storyline very interesting in fact, until the ending.

It was kinda rush, but this was common for these types of books so I totally get it. Still, would love it more if the character(s) took (more of) their time to solve the problem and then settled down a bit before jumping into the epilogue.

Also, is it just me that was really annoyed by the fact that they were both adults, he was even a doctor, but neither thought of any protections before they did the deed then wondered why she got pregnant lmao. At least ask or acknowledge it, ugh.

However, I really like her dad’s reaction when he found out. This! This is the genuine reaction I’ve been looking for!!! Because in those books I’ve read so far that had the same trope(s), the character’s reaction, especially the dad's, was just too unrealistic for my liking.
For example,
“Hey man, I knocked up your daughter.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it man.”

Or something like that...

So when her dad became livid when he found out, I jumped out of joy you know, finally a reasonable one.

Overall, like I said earlier, this was a decent read, I enjoyed it a lot and had a good time.

Liam and Ava, initially an unlikely pair due to their start, but life doesn’t always go as we expect. Sometimes it starts out rough and ends that way too, but lucky for them that is not the way. The chemistry they have is off the charts. Every time they are around each other the world is forgotten and only they exist. And the desires for each other only ratchets up as they see each other. Liam does his best to stay under control considering Ava is his BF daughter, but good luck with that though. He can’t control the love that is growing in his heart, and neither can Ava. She tempts him at every turn and initially is the opposite of him in feeling nothing is under control in her life. They finally figure out they need and want to be together and then comes the telling dad and your BF you made his daughter pregnant. Certainly not an easy conversation to have. And initially it did not go well but dad in the end only wants what is best for his daughter and grandchild and figures out his BF in likely that for both. Pretty quick read, hard to put down as you likely knew what was going to happen but how, how soon and would it be ok.

Loved This Book!

My favorite trope - older man/younger woman with Dr. Liam Cooper and Ava, his good friend’s daughter, a fact he did know the night he met her in a bar, and wound up taking Ava home for a one night stand. Imagine their shock and horror when they meet each other at Ava’s dad’s home for dinner the next night. They vowed never to be with each other again, but encounter each other when she goes to his medical clinic to confirm she is pregnant. The book was a quick entertaining read and filled with their sizzling encounters when they can’t keep their hands off each other. They sneak around her dad, Tom, until they both are overcome with guilt and decide to tell him of the pregnancy after they have spent time getting to know each other.. Of course her dad reacted with contempt for his friend Liam, but then also throw his daughter out of his home. I was sorry to have the book end. You can bet I will be looking for more of Emma Blake’s books to read!

One night stand to a reveal of forever! This is about Ava and Liam. The first night they met, she wanted to experience a one-night stand and nothing more, but then he turned her down, and she felt rejected and humiliated so she decided to walk home. She walked in the rain until he came to her with his umbrella to apologize for his rudeness but explained that he was not much of a pick-up woman at bars kind of a guy. So, of course, they had that one night of passion, as they would never see each other again, granted that was Friday! A couple of days later, at Sunday dinner with her father, guess who shows up to join them, as he is her dad’s best friend. I love the twists and turns this book took and how she needed to come clean with her only parent, and he needed to do the same with his old best friend. I love the ending but would have loved it a little more!.

Making Bad Choices . . .

Ava Moerellis, ready to try something new, has a one-night-stand with a handsome older man she sees at a bar. They don’t bother to exchange names. However, when her father’s best friend, Dr. Liam Cooper, comes to dinner, they are surprised to now put a name to their sex partner. Ava ends up pregnant and tries to keep it a secret from Liam. And they both try to keep their secret from her father. When everyone learns the truth, will things settle down? Or will all participants not be very happy with the decisions they will now be forced to make?

It sometimes becomes difficult to identify the “child” in these situations. I am not sure that anyone really acted like an adult. The truth from the start would have probably turned out much better since neither had known each other and made an honest mistake. But hiding things certainly did no one any favors. Will they get it all sorted out? Or will it all blow up into hurt feelings and betrayal?

Ava and Liam meet again after their one night stand when Liam shows up at her dad’s house for dinner. Liam just happens to be her dad’s best friend. Talk about shocking!! They agree to keep this a secret and that they can’t engage again. This didn’t last long. Ava and Liam are drawn to one another and end up in an entanglement. Ava finds out that she’s pregnant but she doesn’t tell Liam who is a doctor. She eventually gets sick and has to come clean. Now she and Liam are keeping this secret from her dad. This was a very complicated situation and exploded when they finally told Ava’s dad. Now Ava thinks that she has to avoid Liam to make her dad happy while she’s making herself miserable. Liam reached out to his friend and expressed his love for Ava. Things work out and Ava gets her man!.

Ava has lived her whole life in her small town, doing good for others and making life happy for people. She wants just one exciting thing to happen to make her live seem worthwhile. She meets Liam at the local bar and knows he not from around her town. One night with him is her adventure of a lifetime. Then she finds out he is her dad's best friend and has back to town to stay. How can she survive being around him and resisting spending time with him for her dad's sake? Then she finds out she is pregnant and has not idea how to deal with her telling Liam he is going to be a father and even worse how will her dad take it?

Sometimes life just falls into place. These two are the perfect couple and the heat and chemistry between them is off the charts. I would recommend this as a to be read.

This is a dad's best friend, forbidden romance story.

Liam is a Doctor and has just moved back from New York to open a clinic in his home town, which has the slower pace he is looking for.
He ends up having a one night stand with a women named Ava that he meets at a bar. Ava ends up getting pregnant after their night together, but it is only when she attends a Sunday dinner at her fathers, where Liam is also invited to, do they find out who each other really is.
They try to fight their feelings towards each other, but they eventually give in. What will Ava's father think when he finds out, could his reaction put an end to their relationship before it even begins.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

In this book Ava is at her usual neighborhood bar on a Friday night, seeing the same people doing the same thing. All of a sudden walks in a silver fox dressed in a black suit. All Ava can think about is having one adventure, a one night stand with a man that she will never see again. Ava does her best flirting but is shot down, completely humiliated she runs out in the rain. Our silver fox offers to carry an umbrella over her head and walk her home. At her apartment Ava gets her hot steam one night stand. All seems good. She had her adventure and never has to see the silver fox again except he’s her dad’s best friend Liam. The new doctor moving to her town. Great story, funny banter. How will these two manage to keep their extra curricular activities from her dad and how will her father feel about the two of them together?

Lots of plot summary reviews so just a few points…

Ava and Liam have wonderful chemistry and connect so well together! Worth reading their story… nice upbeat escape.

Nitpicks:
A one-night stand with a stranger and neither she nor her doctor/partner once thought of protection? BC failure would’ve been better…

The whole “daddy” dirty-talk language in this scenario just really rubbed me the wrong way. Liam knows her dad well as they grew up together, and the whole thing just struck me as wildly jarring in this type of book trope.

It seems like a common thing for this author to have the couples wait a year before they get engaged… and IMHO, it seems like in this situation (very small town, he’s the town doctor, and he’s the dad’s best friend), that timeline could’ve been sped up a bit.

Overall, a fun easy read with very likable characters.

Ava first met Liam at one of the only bars in town. He was obnoxious at first and snapped at her. He then followed her out of the door to apologise and they spend the night together. The following day Ava was having her usual dinner with her father when he suddenly announced he was having a friend to dinner. In walks Liam- Ava instantly pretended they didn’t know each other. They attempted to keep their distance until one night they couldn’t stay away from each other. They then start a sexual relationship. Up until Ava discovers she is pregnant and they have a short rocky part but find their way back to each other.

Liam meets Ava in a bar, and they share an amazing night together. Neither expected to see the other again. However, when she goes to her father's for dinner, she learns a friend of his will be joining them. When they see each other Ava jokes on the bite of food she sneaked, and Liam has to help her. Sparks reignite between them, but they try to fight their attraction. Its not long before they are giving in again. Will this lead to something more? What will her father think of them being together?

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

I've never read any book by this author before. New author for me, yay 😊 I will sure read other books by this author.

This book contains tropes that I like, small-town and age gap. As for the pregnancy trope, I don’t mind if the author wrote it well. I’m still exploring more about this trope if I like it as much as age gap and other tropes. Enough about me.

Let’s go back to this book review. It was a quick read for me. The story was good even though the pregnancy was a bit unrealistic for me. Could you get pregnant that easily? I know that without protection and contraception, it is possible. But is it that easy? This question came into my head while I was reading this book. All in all, the ending was lovely.

Ava and Liam have a one-night stand where they didn’t even learn each other’s names. Then Ava makes her regular visit to her father’s house for a Sunday dinner to find Liam there. And learn he is a friend of her father’s. Liam has left New York and moved to Hannibal to find an easier life as a physician. He and Ava are both surprised to learn who they are. Now they are faced with how to let her father know about their encounter and the results. If you don’t enjoy steamy stories, this is probably not for you. But it is a good story.

While out with a friend Ava goes up to a stranger that is new in their town and ask him to buy her a drink. It goes sideways at first but when he comes after her their journey began. What was more interesting was that Ava soon learns that her one night stand is her father's best friend. When that union gifted her with a bundle of joy that she would collect in nine months she knows she has to tell both Liam and her father. Will best friends become bitter enemies once the truth comes out? This story kept me glued to the pages.

Wow what a situation to find yourself in! From one night stand with a stranger to finding out he was your dad's best friend. Oops!! Then to find out he is the new town doctor so you will see him around makes it awkward to say the least. Especially since you are still so attracted to him. Then to find out you are pregnant!! What to do in that situation! The decisions that have to be made. I don't envy Ava one bit. Liam and Ava got themselves into one huge mess. Will Thomas forgive them or will he beat the crap out of Liam and hate them forever.

Love me some age gap taboo and best friends daughter. This book will have you engrossed from the beginning until the end and the storyline flows throughout the book so it's pretty much a fast read because you get so hooked in the story. Ava meets a man in the bar and becomes her one night stand but when she finds out who he is can she stay away from him?Liam is new to town and opening up his practice and meets up with a friend only to find out he knows his daughter very well but will they be able to stay away from each other? Great story.

Wow! What a predicament! When the lead female (small town gal) decides to add excitement to her life and have a one night stand... she definitely got more than she bargains for! Lol. When her one night stand turns out to be the much older new doctor in town AND her dad's best friend! Of course the lead male is caught between being a good friend and following his heart. So all the drama you would expect from that predicament follows. Of course they figure it out in the end to get a lovely hea. This book was a good read with a few new ideas and some heat. Would definitely recommend!

This is a troupe I do t usually read - older man/younger woman. The story follows Dr. Liam Cooper and Ava. Unbeknownst to the good doc or Ava, she is his good friend’s daughter. Neither of them knew this the night they met in a bar, and, little did he know when to took her home to bed her. But he did find out the next night when they meet each other at Ava’s dad’s home for dinner. They vow to stay away but once again, bump i to each other They vowed never to be with each other again, when she goes to his medical clinic to confirm she is pregnant.

Ava is Thomas's daughter. Thomas's best friend is Liam who recently moved to their town and set up a physician's practice. Ava and Liam met before they found out their respective relationships to Thomas. And so the story goes, Dad's best friend with his daughter, not to mention the age difference. This is a classic age gap, pregnancy, dad's best friend romance but Emma Blake makes the storyline fresh. I really enjoyed the book as I do everything I read from Ms. Blake.

Liam is new to town, Ava spots him in a bar and makes a move. These two have hot chemistry but don’t even swap names that night. At her dads dinner, he introduces his buddy who has just moved to town and yes, you guessed it, it’s her one night no names hook up

This is so good. They cannot stay away from each other, but when Ava is I’ll and her dad rushes her to see his buddy Dr Liam, secrets start to spill.

I loved this book, so engaging, so hot, and a fabulous HEA.

OMG! So hot together and a great story. Ava and Liam could melt chocolate just by being in the room!! Their chemistry is off the charts and it’s an incredible emotional experience as well. Two truly nice individuals who are meant to be together.

Emma does a great job with the intimacy between Ava and Liam. It’s delicious, decadent, and explicitly written. The emotional attraction is especially evident through his support for her during difficult situations. Loved the story and all of the characters.

Ava and Liam’s story starts with a one time hook-up and when he turns up to visit her dad. She finds out he is her dad’s best friend. They decided to not get entangled again. But the chemistry was too much and they couldn’t stay away, but then she ends up pregnant. She needs to tell him and her father. But how will this all turn out. A good interesting, age gap, dad’s best friend story that has a few twist and bumps to have you reading till the end.

This was a fun, steamy and light read. I really like this trope and the forbidden aspect/drama with her dad finding out was super entertaining.

I didn't love that the heroine hid it from him for so long (around 50% into the book) and that he never really had a reaction to that/found out that she’d known for a lot longer?? But luckily it ended up not being a huge problem and didn’t cause unnecessary drama near the end of the book.

Also, the "daddy" thing was a little overdone for my personal tastes, but others may feel differently.
