A rather intense start to the new Volume where Uru adventures to even request both Ichirou and Mr. Akebawa to assist her in satiating her curiosity after seeing Shindou Chitose. The amount of concern and care every character has for one another is incredible where in my supposedly-dull reality, I've hardly felt such enormous compassion and kindness among my relations. I might have felt a kindling of it once.

What I've loved about this series so far is that it's brought out the best in how we can view family, relationship and friendships. Even with tension, there's always a sunny side up to things. :) This manga series has made me laugh, nearly tear up, and think just so much more of what I have around me that I truly salute and have to admire, the mangaka's work.

Let's be honest, we pity everyone who likes Uru. Haha.

Sooo we finally meet Shindo’s mother (pshhh if that’s even what you would call her)… and we kinda see why she left Shindo? Personal insecurities/trauma of some sort? Idk but I’m glad that she and Shindo didn’t just make up and be all fine and dandy. That would not be realistic.
And now there is something going on with Uru’s family surrounding the death of her father… I have a feeling Uru had something to do with her dad’s death… Not intentional of course! This Hagiwara guy that popped up randomly irks me. Something weird is going on…
And finally for the romance? Well, there ain’t much to speak of. Lol. We all know Shindo’s her choice (which I totally approve of) but they really haven’t had a lot of bonding time together. It almost seems unrealistic to for them to be in love…

It was actually a pleasant read. Plus the illustrations were really cute. But dang! That ending is so lacking! Where's the most anticipated kiss?!!!

Series Review: Happy Cafe is a sweet and funny manga that is a great light read. The characters are hilarious (often times even the bad guys) and the plot is never boring despite its slower pace. The romance is a slowly developing relationship that is refreshing in a overfilled market of instalove trends. The ending was kinda rushed but cute in its own way. I recommend this manga to those who are looking for a light read.
